Something you're forgetting when you are saying two days after an election who will be running in the next one:

Those candidates you mentioned have to compete against others in their party before they get the nod.

Hilary Clinton, as capable as she may be, will probably have to compete against some other worthy senators from states like... well, perhaps Iowa, and Washington... i.e. you can't assume she will get the nod, especially since she is a woman, and, whether we like it or not, that does have a political effect against her.

Rudy will have to compete against several others as well, perhaps including Cheney, even though he will be 70+ years old by then. All Rudy has going for him is that he happened to be the mayor in New York at the time that 9/11 happened, so he was then perceived as a hero for some reason. Granted, during his time as mayor, crime went down in New York, but not a whole lot else happened. Who knows who might run for president for the Republicans? Hell, Tom Delay (another guy from Texas... but perhaps even more of a nutcase than Bush) could attempt to run, but I certainly hope he wouldn't get the nod. I know Delay's nephew... and he's just as much a nutcase as Tom is. "It is a necessity that every American owns a gun for their own protection as well as recreation."

Yea, how many people do you think would want him on the ticket after hearing him say that? Well, his nephew told me anyway that he will attempt to become the president in 2008. His nephew also boldly predicted that he would win at least one primary.

Anyway, too many possibilities for presidential candidates in 2008. Hell, Gore might even try to run again.

But one way or another, I think it would be very hard for Hilary to get past the primaries and go on to get the nod for the Democratic Party.

WTF have you been smokin? If everyone thought the war was justified, then Kerry would have only had 2% of the popular vote. The biggest dividing issue between the parties was the justification of the war in Iraq. Have you kept up with current events in the last 3 years?

The war still isn't justified, for it never was. The current situtation in Iraq reeks of White Man's Burden (if you don't know what that is, look it up. Then compare it to our taking over their culture and forcing democracy on them right now). So much evidence indicates it wasn't and still isn't justified, including everything Ziff just said.

So, why exactly do you think that "everyone seems to say the war in Iraq is justified"?

Well, Cali always goes to democrats... but really, there's only shift in thought when a governor changes, or power within a legislature shifts. The governor is a staunch Republican, who, as you know, helped contribute to all the blatant lies in the ads against Prop 66. These ads were probably the #1 reason why it didn't pass, because most Californians aren't smart enough to ignore the propaganda and go find out about the prop for themselves. Thus, 53% of the state was under the perception that this prop was meant to release mass murderers from prison immediately and let them roam on the streets.

Um... the reason why jobs will be lost is because of cost. It costs a lot, believe it or not, to be environmentally sound. It takes technology to keep greenhouse effects negated. Technology costs money. Now, would the number of jobs lost be large? Probably not. If they were to keep those jobs, probably their profits would be about 8 times as much as they spent as opposed to 10 times as much.

So, should the U.S. have signed it? Yes.

But, because Cheney and Bush want maximum profits for every major corporation in the U.S. (mainly Halliburton, who would be one of the most affected companies by this document), they make sure that nothing, NOTHING, could get in the way of that happening. They won't let a penny slip by the companies. Even if it means hurting the environment in which we all live.

So if you're left homeless with no where to get a job, but the environment around you that you are bumming around in is clean, will you still be saying this? Not that I disagree with you, but I was just wondering if you'd change your mind under certain circumstances.

Yeah, that's a really good point -- that Jobs can be made, but the Environment cannot. Sure, we can plant trees, and that will HELP...

That's not even true... the only reason logging companies replant trees is to cut them down again. That is why they regrow the quickest growing ones only, even if they've cut down one that took a long time to grow. Definitely doesn't turn into a healthy ecosystem...

Yes, there always will be homeless people, and there will be varying amounts of jobs available. Most of the issues on why the U.S. won't opt into this treaty (even Clinton didn't opt into it when he had a chance) is because the major energy corporations have a large amount of their income from particular resources, and they do not want to go through the trouble to have alternate resources. And it does take some time to do it properly... and it might even result in a FEW job losses at first, but then later on the jobs will be refilled when everything is settled... but the companies want as much money as possible NOW, and that is why they control this issue to the point that we can't get into this program. However, their stance will surely bite them in the ass in 50 years... either when people start noticing the ice caps are thinning, and USA is recorded as being the most responsible for it, or when those resources that they base their companies off of are not so plentiful anymore...

So, in short, the smartest thing to do would be to follow the program... and yes, it is much more biased to the USA than many other countries, Heian... then again, the USA pollutes a lot more than the other countries, which is why this is the case.

Those countries that are not big economic powers usually aren't as industrialized, so it is harder for them to pollute as much anyway.

This decision to not opt into it is stupid, and it will show in 50 or less years

Usually candidates start making themselves known about 2 years or less before the election... John Kerry decided to not make himself known really until 8 months before, and that probably bit him in the ass a bit. Hilary would start a little earlier if she was serious about running (and all signs point to this being the case).

Um... if Kerry already conceded Ohio, then doesn't that mean he like... gave up... and it doesn't matter what the results are?

Kerry conceded the election, meaning, even if there was voter fraud (they talk about that stuff out here in Cali in every election, including minor ones... it's a big issue here), he's already given up.

Accept Mr. Dumbass as your president for another term.

Everyone praises JFK but guess how he won the presidency? He cheated. Dead people can't vote... unless they are voting democrat. Nixon knew of the voting frauds and you know what he did? Nothing. He sucked it up and continued on with his life.

Nixon > You

Actually, Nixon was a pussy for sucking up voter fraud and not doing anything about it. Kerry isn't as much of a pussy because the possibilities of voter fraud seemed fuzzier this time around and the margin to make up in the remaining ballots was too great to make up in his mind, so that's why he conceded.

But Nixon had no reason to concede. The margin to make up was ridiculously minimal (in Illinois, at least) and the possibilities of voter fraud in several states was clearly high.

And if you want my honest opinion, I think in my home state of California, the only reason why Bush didn't win the state is because of voter fraud. But that's a different issue...

Anyway, I think someone who tries to correct an error in the way American democracy is handled is better than someone who wimps out and lets the error overtake him.

So sorry, but Nixon < Me

In Nixon's defense (on Watergate, anyway), he had reason to be fearful, and had a big motive to do the watergate scandal. This, of course, was all because of the election that slipped out of his hands because of his own pussiness. So, I believe that letting him off the hook there was understandable.

Btw, JFK sucked ass. Major ass.

Perfection can't exist outside of God.

Your point?

Actually, perfections seem to exist inside God as well. Our all-loving God, who exists in hundreds of different forms (based on how many religions there are and have been, anyway), including "pagan" forms, decides that all people who don't worship to a designated form of himself will go to hell in that particular faction of God-worshipping. So, a Catholic's soul may be in Catholic heaven, but apparently is going through Muslim hell, Protestant hell, Jewish hell, et al at the same time. And a Hindu person will be going through Christian hell, Mormon hell, et al while simultaneously being in Nirvana.

Find any imperfections yet?

But, of course, South Park always has the correct answer to everything.

(Reminded of South Park episode):

[Setting: Fiery Furnace, aka HELL]

Catholic man: What the... how did... why am I here? What did I do wrong? I was a good, devout Catholic my entire life!

Voice: I'm sorry, the correct answer was MORMON.

Catholic man: Ah, shit.

So apparently, according to the all-knowing South Park show, all non-Mormons go to hell...

Luckily, the Mormons have a very unique aspect in their religion: if you sign up to be Mormon and are currently not in the Mormon church (we'll just say this guy's... Catholic), you can not only sign up yourself and your family members, but sign up all your non-Mormon ancestors as well who are already dead, and, according to Mormon teachings, already in hell.

So basically, if you become Mormon, you can save your soul and the soul of all those who are in your bloodline!

The tradeoff, of course, is that now your soul and the souls of all those you just "condemned" will now be having a straight ticket to Catholic hell while they're hanging out in Mormon heaven...

Wow, I rambled
