  • Some small fixes regarding encoding double quotes as entities needlessly in posts. (Most notable when trying to use <a href="...">.) Seems to have been recently introduced.
  • Now allowes you to use double quotes in your custom title. (Related to the bug above.)
  • Some small fixes regarding "doubling" of newlines in some places like Edit Post.
  • Clicking the "sent" link when viewing a sent private message now takes you to your outbox, rather than your inbox.
  • Misc bugs fixed related to the "Show email address" settings.
  • Various settings have been cleaned up and generalized in order to make public release easier.
  • Countless other fixes, too minor to list.

All by Jesper

  • Several exploits fixed. Big thanks to HyperHacker, Ailure, blackhole89 and Xkeeper.
  • New thread/poll now lists the options to sticky or close the new thread directly after creation below the Submit button. This because the earlier placement above the Submit button ruined the "tab, space" ritual of posting for mods (it would instead tick the Closed checkbox).
  • When you have voted on a multivoting poll, your past choice's links will go away. (Much like how every choice link goes away in a singlevoting poll.)
  • Edit User has been fixed as to NOT lead to duplication of newlines in bio, layout header, or sig.
  • PM counter won't count deleted messages. (The reason it does is because it's not really deleted; if it was the user who sent it wouldn't be able to see it in his Sent message folder. I just forgot to account for this in the counter.)
  • Edit poll in place. You can change the text parts and the settings, and also rename and change color of the choices, and remove choices noone's voted for. You can also add more choices.

(renamed 12-03-04)

  • Some feeds in place. Forums now have each an Atom feed in place, and the feeds are autodiscoverable. We've chosen not to supply RSS 2.0 feeds because there's a lot of info about individual threads that could be lost. We also have feeds for every individual thread available. To subscribe to all those feeds, locate the '"RSS" Feed' link on each forum's or thread's page (on the bottom on the forum pages and on the top AND bottom on the thread pages), copy the link destination and feed it to your feed reader. - Jesper
  • The creator of a thread can now no longer delete the first post unless the creator is a local mod or higher. Gets rid of some common confusion where you'd think it would remove the whole thread. - Jesper
  • Major changes to the Edit Layout page. Preview looks like an actual post, preview only reloads when you click the button, options repositioned, and so on. - Jesper
  • Fixed what the registration page said when registration is only allowed for local mods and up. - Jesper
  • Email not shown in people's profiles unless you're logged in and not banned. You can also hide your email from logged in users that are not staff (local moderators or higher). - Jesper
  • Briefing table row hidden in polls where no briefing is entered. On the same subject made it clear in New Poll that briefing is for instructions specific to voting. - Jesper
  • Admins can now edit forum local moderators. In other news, hell is quite cold. - Erk + Edits by Jesper
  • You can now delete multiple private messages at once. - Jesper
  • You can also arrange your received private messages in folders. You create those folders yourself by using the Manage folders item from the new drop down menu in the Private Messages department. - Jesper
  • If you have moderator status in the current forum, you can now create threads that are closed and/or stickied by default by checking checkboxes in the new thread screen. You can also opt to close a thread right after you reply by a similar checkbox. - Jesper
  • Every thread post now offers a permanent link next to the Quote link to give out in for example chats or emails. This link differs from just copying and pasting the thread url in that the link will place you on the correct page, whereas the thread url might fail if you have a different posts per page setting than the user who gave you the link. - Jesper
  • Changes to this very page, allowing you to switch between "version history" mode and "roadmap" mode. - Jesper
  • You can now add someone to your post radar from their profile via a link at the bottom. - Jesper
  • Layouts can now be blocked from appearing inside threads individually. To block or unblock people's layouts, follow a link at the bottom of their profile. A list of blocked layouts is maintained inside "Edit profile". - Jesper
  • Some changes regarding registration. - Jesper

You must enter an email address. The email address will be used to send you a verification code. Therefore, the registration form just has fields for account name and email address. Once you verify your email address through the verification code in the email, you'll be able to pick a password. (One reminder (just one) of the verification code can be sent.) After this the real account is created and you'll be able to log in, after which you'll be redirected to the FAQ. All of this combined with the ability to lock down registration will help thwart account spammers.

  • Links at bottom of profile.php cleaned up a little (Jesper + Erk)
  • Creation of acmlmboard@stormbirds.org for the from address of all e-mails sent by board (Erk + Jesper)

1.93b2
(08-19-04)

  • SQL Board Configuration array in place, to reference any value at any time throughout the board code. - Erk
  • Listing of Arin / SamSpade links on rest of IP Addresses throughout the board (Profiles, IP Search, Threads etc.) - Erk
  • The Memberlist now has an All Staff selection for Powerlevel filtering. - Erk
  • Registration link in header toggled based on status of 0 - Erk
  • Begin moving certain files to admin folder for cleaner code structure - Erk
  • Creation of /archive2 for use in any file located in a subfolder of main site and other places - Erk
  • When a post is deleted the users's post count is decremented - Erk
  • New Layout Editing system created, Layout Editing outsourced to editlayout.php - Jesper

This layout system will be expanded on in the future and include more stuff - such as CSS for every user - but the framework is in place for now. The preview is instantaneous (on moving focus in the text boxes or checking the option boxes) when using a recent browser (minus IE due to problems when reloading stylesheets) - older browsers can preview when they feel like it via the Preview button.

  • Private Message notification on other pages - Erk

    Yeah what, you're welcome fools.

1.93b1
(08-14-04)

  • Started version history keeping, including viewing of version history
  • Very simple Admin Panel introduced. You hear that, Blades? ADMIN PANEL. List of links to the two items below, by Jesper.
  • Introduced board configuration by Jesper, using some interoperability options from Erk

Any admin can set a few lower-level board configuration settings. For now the only option is toggling availibility of registration (enabled for guests and up, enabled for members and up and enabled for local mods and up).

  • IP banning by Erk
  • Post Anchors (thread.php?id=3434#7575) Fixed by Erk + Jesper
  • Updated toolbar by Jesper

The toolbar now works with standards compliant browsers. The list for now includes those identifying as IE4 or higher, Gecko (all Mozilla browsers plus Safari), KHTML (Safari or Konqueror, a Linux browser), Opera or OmniWeb (a Mac browser).

The toolbar now also knows what to do when displayed with themes without the button look data (button face, button highlight and button shadow color data) - it shows them on a semi-transparent white (every browser but IE) / light gray (IE) background. The menus also span four columns in order to save in on screen space.

  • Variable Added $isstaff($power>=1);
