That's not really hacking though, just swapping out textures from picture files. That would require the users who want to play your hack to download that specific plugin, and probably limit what emulator they can play it on. It is kind of neat though.

I know it's not hacking, but it's a very good and easy way to retexture the game. And editing in tile molester often crash the game.

And Dizzyforpigs, no the editor has not been released yet but it will probably be released sunday the 25th!!

One of the popular ones was the Secret level which can be found on my here: http://digg.com/gaming/Super_Mario_64_DS_Test_level_found_buried_in_the_ROM

I think the stone is a polygon, but you may maybe move it. In that case you should just move it somewhere you can't see it and the warps should be editable so you could place a warp there.

I know that everything but 2d objects are meshes, what I meant is that the stone star is a piece of the landscape and is not countet as a object!!

You can change objects into other objects, so if you want more enemys then change all coins into enemys!! I think you can move ground parts (like plattforms and stones etc.) so you could make complete new levels with the Bowser levels!!

Yes, the island is a part of the terrain...how about moving the island high into the sky, making it a hell to reach it with the cannons??

You can change the colors of any part of Mario with gameshark codes. Just take your time and READ THE LAST 10-15 PAGES!!!
