Posted on 07-01-06 01:14 PM, in Gah, SMB 3 Pipes... Link
Last night I was looking for the 3-way Ball-n-Chain, and I came across a thread which had FuSoYa's SMB3 pipes. Now, it requires Page 4 of my rom's Map16, but I already loaded ExGfx airship blocks to that position. Is there any way to redirect the pipe code to Map16 page 6 (the first non-used page at the moment), or will I have to place the airship blockss elsewhere and re-do my airship level?

He probably means "compatible with Layer 3 effects."

3.14159265358979323846: I attempted to make a vertical scrolling level, and that happened too. What I had to do to get it to work right is move the layer 1 objects up ~5 blocks, as well as the starting floor, and set Mario's y-coordinate to F on the next screen up.

That isn't Peach and Daisy, that's Mario and Luigi in drag.

I would think doing that would be rather simple. Just edit one of the "? Block with X" and change what it spawns to a mushroom or something... I could be completely wrong though.

Does anyone have an invinciblity block that plays the star music? The one I have doesn't, and when the invinciblity runs out, the level's normal music that is playing restarts.

EDIT: This one sounds a little odd, but can anyone make me an On/Off switch that starts off, and will only turn on when Mario hits it if the Yellow, Green, and Red block switches have been hit?

I just beat world 5 of the demo. and overall, I really like it. The graphics in the levels look good, although some levels (such as Luccara Plains 2) feel like they need more scenery objects in various places. Also, I would like to note that before I played this I had planned to have the Star World in my hack set up almost exactly the same as yours is set up, except mine would have another star at the end leading to Bowser's castle...

For a section of a level I am making, I needed to use yellow switch blocks inside a room with switch palace graphics. The problem is, when you switch to the switch palace tileset, a large amount of default Map16 tiles (including the switch blocks) turn into inane garbage.

The question is: does this gibberish have some sort of in-game meaning or would it be completely safe to change the four switch blocks to their proper graphics?

Actually, I was using ExGfx and a custom palette for the yellow blocks, but this would only work for yellow and red (and they both would need a different ExGfx). Green and blue blocks won't work for this, though.
