Hell yeah, FFI&II Advance.
Basically the Wonderswan versions, with more items, enemies, areas and STUFF. Extra story too, including the "Soul of ..." features.

Read more here.

If this sells well, we could be seeing a remake of FFIV, which I consider to be the greatest FF game there was. Here's hoping!

I too get a much lower framerate in 1.7.2, as it happens.

Anyway, if you want to watch those videos carts in VBA, you should download the old version 1.1. It works fine. Not sure what they did to "break" that in recent releases, but there's an answer for now.

I don't recommend having your screen set to more than 1x zoom though, they look terrible. I guess this also why it says "Not Compatible With Gameboy Player" at the start, too, even though they WORK on it.

It locks up? That's iiiiinteresting...

Anyway, no, I wasn't implying it should be of good quality, rather pointing out for anyone that expected it to be that it won't be.

Frankly, I'm impressed by what they've managed to do here.

If you wait a while, it will be implemented into ZSNES.

As Pagefault himself wrote....

ZSNES MOVIE EXPORT SPECIFICATION - SUBJECT TO CHANGE
1ST DRAFT

PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to specify the perameters of how a ZMV file will be exported to a compressed movie format, viewable in an external player.

REQUIREMENTS

- All movies that are exported must come from an already created ZMV file.
- It is not feasable to do this in realtime while a game is playing.

OUTPUT FORMAT

- Movie will be outputted to 320x240 (NTSC) or 320x288 (PAL).
- Movie will be stretched from original 256x224 buffer to fill these requirements.
- Movie will run at half internal framerate (29.97 fps for NTSC, 25 fps for PAL)
- Sound will be 32khz stereo.
- Will use OGM or equivilent open source container format.

CONSIDERATIONS

- Full frame rate would not make this video playable on conventional video equipment.

CODECS

- Video will use xvid (or theora if availible)
- Audio will use vorbis.

OK, so here's the plan.

I was hoping to try and avoid using key exits as secret exits, as laid down in the rules by Mario World. Instead, I was hoping to use a ? sphere.

At the same time, I was ALSO hoping to get rid of the goal at the end of each stage and, again, use a ? sphere.

(When I say ? sphere, I mean the object, not it's appearance. I will make it something more obvious that it's an exit, but I don't know yet)

Anyway, basically my idea involves two spheres on some levels. So I was going to make one of them green, as per normal, and the other one red, to symbolise a secret route.

However, as you know, touching these spheres gives you the uber special exit music, and not the normal gate exit music. Can this be changed? More importantly, can my GREEN one play the standard music whilst the RED one plays the uber secret music?

Click on the Level menu and look for "Change Properties in header...". One of the drop down boxes within this menu is called "Layer 1 (FG) Vertical Scrolling". Simply set this to "Vertical Scroll at Will", and you'll get what you need.

No, you will need to upload it for us to see anything.

Try http://imageshack.us/

You can upload images up to 850k for free, and when it's uploaded it will tell you code for showing the image on forums and the like. Just paste that code into your post and all will be well.

This is only true if the image isn't accessed for over a year. Which, on a forum like this, would be no problem.

OK, here we go. My first ever Mario World "hack".

I've been learning Lunar Magic as I go along, and this is what I've come up with so far.

It's called Super Mario Story, by the way.

First level... everyone does this!:

Dark Woods:

Big Boo's Tower:

Big Boo's Armada:

And the patch itself!
Click-me-do, daddio

And I realise there are status bar "problems" in the final shot. I know how to fix it now, but I actually like it. I'm thinking of refining it a bit and making it the standard for the game. Not entirely sure yet...

Have fun.

Thanks for your feedback guys, much appreciated!
I'll be assimilating a lot of your points, so please look forward to future releases.

Sorry AkenatensHope, but once you've beaten Big Boo, that is where the demo ends.

This happens in mine too, and in many other hacks I've played.
I guess it's just normal when using that particular Block.

Just think how easy the game would be if you COULD trade early on.
Gold/Silver let you trade too early from Red/Blue, in my experience. Certainly before the Elite Four. All it took was an Articuno to beat everything they threw at me.

Still, one could argue that just because the option is there, doesn't mean you have to take it. You can choose to play the game "normally", or "cheat" your way through.

Bit of a gray area, really. But I do think Fire/Leaf's system is a decent one. After all, gone are the days when beating the Elite Four is the end of the game.

Probably.
It's being made for Nintendo DS! Which makes it seem terribly likely it would get an english translation.
But how, I am wondering, will being on DS benifit the game...? Hmm...

[edit]

I should add a link...

And make it clickable!! Haha, I suck.
