I know there's a more-or-less complete YI editor, I think it was called EggVine?

Hmm, I see you remember that editor as well ?
I only used it once and that was in 08, from what I understand from smwc old members and this board it wasn't quite yet ready to be fully workable.

I'm sure squash monster is out on the net, but I dont think he would want to continue on it after a long dry spell with coding motivation.

http://acmlm.no-ip.org/board/thread.php?id=2827

Also Pete ac was working on smas last year, he made a quite a few surprises on one of his youtube page.
People have some good stuff going on back then.

I feel so dumb. I totally missed both of those on my first playthrough, but I played it again today and found both of those upgrades. Ridley and Mother Brain would have been a lot easier if I had known a charge beam existed. This whole time I thought you just had to aim your super missiles and missiles very carefully to beat those guys.

Mother brain won't stand up long to single plasma beam charge shots.
Even spazer beam would do in her first mode of battling.
Also spring ball isn't needed if you can bomb jump some.
Then again the acid may have a different way of handling you when your high jump boots dont cut it fast enough.

"besides I hate the spring ball anyway"

It took me years to find out Mega Man 2's Atomic Fire can be charged up. Even better when you can 1-hit-kill Wood Man with it fully charged.

lol really ? most players catch on to that trick when they hold the B button for too long and launch out a burst of fire.
Oh well, I guess some of us wont notice the most easiest things in VG after 2+ years later in life.

Also Pete ac was working on smas last year, he made a quite a few surprises on one of his youtube page.
This is one of the surprises you were referring to, right? I provided Pac with the information to make that. He actually made programs which allowed him to compile his own music banks and port music from Super Mario World to Super Mario All-Stars. They were a bit messy, so he was reluctant to let them spread around.

I don't have an archive of our initial MSN conversation, but here are some of the documents I provided for him then:

Bouche's Notes - I didn't create this one. Somebody from one of the old incarnations of Acmlm's Board extracted several of Bouche's posts from an even older thread and placed them in this rich text file. It details the basic structure of the N-SPC data in Super Mario All-Stars. This, along with the command list in Hyrule Magic's music editor (of all places!), taught me everything I needed to start editing music.
Super Mario All-Stars / Super Mario World SPC commands - Here is the document I made from the aforementioned command list. The hex values farthest to the left are for SMAS, while the values to the right of these are for SMW.
Demo World 3: Star - A breakdown of Bouche's custom recreation of the SMW2 star music in Demo World 3. Describes all of the main structures you'll find in a song's data.
SMAS SPC Addresses - SPC RAM location for every music track in SMAS.

Using this info, and examining how Bouche ported the SMAS engine to SMW to Demo World 3, I made this.

Then addmusic came along, and this method of SMW music hacking died quietly.
With most of the SMW ROM and RAM mapped out, and the torrential downpour of tools that do just about everything for you, I was left with nothing to do related to SMW.

EDIT: What did I just write?

Yes, pete was working quitely on a smas editor a couple years ago, I think with some of the drama that was going in smwc and dealing with work at the time when pete had his thread up, made him say forget this and I'll try again in the next generation when people know how to read.

Yeah, I remember you coming out with those patches, I was litterally quite amazed, I think you were the first one to really get me interested to look into music hacking.
My music isnt much but atleast I understand a whole lot more now then I did when I first started in the end of 2008.
Reminds me, black why have you not continued with solar sound tracks, last time I talked to you about it I was litterally eager for you to release a small demo man.
If the coding part is taking too long why not co-share it with matrizzle and some other people who know the spc music engine quite well ?

@Grime: Grime, weather you realize it or not, people we'll find out the goodside and ugly side to any acmlm original or new incarnation.
It doesnt take a genius to pull up the old acmlm irc logs or old web archives on a searh engine and make a decision on what they see.

It's trully up to them if they want to rom hack or get involved in different parts of the gaming world.
I would like to see more sprite hacking and modification for many types of formats.
I've noticed there has been a great lack in that department since getting involved with acmlm comminuties.

I just noticed this post -- what on Earth? I never said any of that

You didnt have to, maybe I got the wrong impression but why was your thread and mainly smas subforum shutdown at smwc awhile back ?
At the time, that place was going through alot of changes and I have seen or heard by ear some problems going on with them.

I thought maybe you got tired of the noise over there and just put it on pause.
No harm intended towards you pacy or anyone else reading this.

COD 5 world at war, I played the demo 2 years ago, and I have wanted one for the pc.
But I'm stuck wit COD 2, very popular and worth a sale of 22.00, but people dont even want to cough up 9.00 for it ?

I think cod black ops, fucked up the series after its initial release.
I see no point of having to have that game and still be left dry after playing it ? 0_0

Blackhole, you may murder me for this and probably any other board leadership admininstrators....
But why not take smwc, jul.rustedlogic.net and whoever else majorly involved in hacking and assign them a direct hyperlink to their board stating what they specialize in and leave 2 o3 3 small screenshots of what has been done by their members making rom hacking more advanced than it was back in 2003 ?

Your probably looking at this and wondering, what kind of idea have you thought up moment.

Lets face it any other board specializes and somethings specific, we have had problems or rivalrys with other past or current staff and had the old forum hacking happen every so often when things have been taking too far amongst people.

I looked at Pac's last post about jul, yeah we have our differences, we dont think or socialize like the others mess, but something has to be done about it.

Out of the all the boards I know and I'm a member of, I mainly dont have a problem with them, not unless they take it too far of whatever they did, or what I might do to them depending on what goes down on the post.

I know this is going to take a lot of effort to pull off what we want to do but somebody has to be the voice of reasoning, and keep some sort of piece between acmlm affiliates.

That fraud is no Axem Ranger. No real Ranger would let himself get beat up by some silly robotic Erinaceidae. I recommend you check your sources next time.

No thanks, you have already proven that you are not a Axem ranger and bored to death.

Besides that, those "rangers" had a 45 minute run in smrpg only once, and it didnt take mario or bowser long to make them vanish into the abyss.

You literally are making no sense now.

Kevin, please shut up man, I'm only teasing the guy abit he can have his thread and whatever he wants in here.
Besides that, I wanted to get a little bit knee jerk reaction out of him and I got what I came for.

My favorite was probably United Offensive. The larger maps and addition of vehicles was pretty fun. Also not a big fan of the regenerating health in the later games (amongst other things).

I like arena shooters, and Unreal Tournament has always been my favorite. I should probably give TF2 another try, since the UT population is pretty small.

That and Tribes ascend beta, if your really interested I might be able to get you a free beta key from my account.

As the title suggests, I was wondering how others here feel about nootropic drugs like piracetam. About a month ago, after I read a rave review for the stuff, I purchased 100 grams of the stuff to try out. Using the capsuling machine I was given for Christmas, I've capped a series of approximately one gram servings, that I have been taking daily for the past couple of weeks.

So far, I haven't experienced much of the added mental clarity people tend to attribute to it. I have noticed a slightly increased desire to solve mathematical and logic problems, and an increased ability tune out distractions, but that's about it. So far, I don't plan to purchase more when my supply runs out, but that may change yet.

So, what have you guys heard/read/experienced with nootropics?

http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108415

Be very carefull of which drugs you take or test, remember nothing will ever be permanent, and there is a negative side to most drugs on the market or being studied closely by the people who made the stuff.

What I meant by permanent, is some of the positive effects of that drug he is taking.
In the end, there will always be draw backs to medicene at any health cost or risk to the user taking it.

That link I gave Xeruss, had some information partaining to nootropic, if he wants to, let him pull a study chart from the manufacturers himself, and let him weigh out the rinls or good usage of that drug he is taking.

Believe me when I say this, you will never find a drug that will fully help you at all, mostly it will need to begin with person wanting to help themselves fully and change over time.

lol, That's not really necessary. I'm not going to beg you to start playing a series you've never played before just so I can get someone to participate in a draft. But you have good initiative, I like that.

Wasnt the fire emblem games similiar to that of FF tactics psx original and gba release ?

I'll look into it over the weekend, if I can get familiar with the game pattern I'll try my hand at it.

That game reminds of chinese checkers for some odd reason. #_#

Heh, I like to see you actually prove that here and see how well it goes.
We dont need the bullshit or multiple drama queens in here again man.
You want some excitement do ya ?

Go join up there and catch a few people in a bad mood and see how long you survive them with the mods inside the steel cage arena.

So far this board has been stable, slow at times, but its better than anything else I've seen elsewhere on the net.
