From a previous thread quoted by me:

"Make a save state with Mario in a level in a zsnes. Open up yy-chr and go to load emulator state and open the save state you just made. Then cycle through the colors untill you see Mario's pallettes."

...or in your case, the mushroom's pallettes. Hope this helps.

Alright, lets see:

1.For the no fadeout effect, open a hex editor and go to the offset x3135 and type the following:
4c 91 b0 ea d0
and at x3291 type:
ad c6 13 f0 fa a5 13 29 03 4c 39 af
thus ending the fadeout effect.

2. For this I believe pallette 1 has the color data for that and the status screen, but I'm not sure.
PM gettoyouth. I believe he knows.

4. http://www.freewebs.com/terencev1/racmar.ips . This also screws the flying fish generators and gives you Racoon Mario instead of Cape Mario.

I don't have the answer to 3, but I hope the rest helps.

What exactly do you mean by characters other than Mario and Luigi. Do you mean Fire Mario or Luigi riding Yoshi? Have you found more players in SMW?

Yeah, most of these levels look from super to impossible to pass. but good work so far. BTW in pic 4 from the bottom, I see half of a dragon coin up there. Just move it down and add a top to it. Make sure it not on a screen boundry or it'll glitch up.

No. I agree too. The levels are way too hard for a hack like this. The Bullet Bill idea was somewhat clever, but the colors are very unfriendly, and some levels can't be passed without save states.

Advice: If you make a hack with the original gfx, you have to make it unique and clean like DW:TLC, if you just throw random blocks and enemies everywhere and make it difficult to play and at the same time not fun whatsoever, NOBODY will like this hack. Please rethink your levels. Play some good hacks in the hack database to get a good idea on how good level design can make a great game.

I could flame the hell out of Glyph Phoenix for his stupid remark about me, but I don't want to go down that road again.....

Like said before, it's only a popularity contest, and grounds for a flamming war. I wish my name wasn't on the list, since I really didn't bring anything good to the table. With the most popular being Fusoya. To be honest, I never finished or kept interest in playing DW:TLC or Luigi's Adventure. I shouldn't have to use savestates to finish ANY hack. But apperently everyone else has finished those games, and had fun doing it, I didn't.

I couldn't care less about rips. As long as the level design and gameplay is good and the game itself is fun, i'll play it no matter what. SMAS rips shouldn't be a problem. They fit most hacks perfectly, Like in "Super Mario Elemental Worlds". The problem is when hackers is using them in the wrong situation or ugling them up with bad FG.

QFT because my SML2:6GC remake will have a little YI and SMB3 BG in it so.........

If used right, you can use the 2P Game for an alternate character to use in a hack. If only there was a patch that forces you to use Luigi only when you select a 2P game (rather than the old take Mario lives then kill him to use Luigi method).

OK. I had this ROM for a while now. (maybe one of the first
ROMS I ever got). I left it alone for about a year or two and
it worked fine then. Then I found out about editing the graphics
in yy-char to make my own homemade stamps and such.
When I start to play and change the control to use the mouse,
the mouse control (in Mario Paint, NOT the ZSNES
menu or my CPU) starts to skip to the point where
I can't even play it. I wondered if this has happend
to anyone else, and if so, how can I fix this. Is it the
ZSNES thats screwed or what?

This is incredible. I found these at GScentral Forums. After I inputed these I made some nice screenshots:

These only work on the v 1.0 OOT Rom. For more info and the other versions of these cheats go to : http://www.gscentral.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=489

Make another Link apper in Kokiri Forest:

50000710 0783
81244124 0000

These are NOT fakes. I had a "switch to Young Link" cheat, explaning the hookshot in his inventory. When you change swords, tunics, and shields, the other Link changes.

Arwing invasion

50000710 0000
81244124 013B

Yes there was Arwings left in the game. They also attack with dual lasers. Shoot them down and they blow up just like in SF64.

Many Shadow Links

81244096 0020
50000710 0000
81244124 0033

Intresting note: Dark link can do mostly everything Link could, including swiming and climbing.

If you edit the values, you can make all sorts of things apper. For a value list go to the link above.

Comments?

Posted on 03-25-06 09:49 PM, in SMW2:YI exploit to get rid of Mario Link
I have done this plenty of times on my old snes back in the day. Let me explain how to do this:

Play any level that has an enemy near a transformation bubble (works best on level 5-7, and 2-2) Get hit and let the timer go to zero, When Kamek's todies come, grab Mario and touch the Bubble while the timer is at zero. You will transform but the todies will still grab Mario. Pause and use a +10 or +20 stars item. The todies will release Mario, but now he's crying. Grab him while in your transform state. He will try to hop on Yoshi, but turns into a little bubble. Wait out your transformation and Yoshi will return back to Mario, but is not riding him. You can now eat, spit, and shit mario all you want. Wierd things happen in 2-7 when Mario is in Yoshi mouth when you activate the transition of entering in and out of the cave like parts. Have fun.

Theres also a way to keep Super Baby Mario after you grab a star:

Go to level 4-1. Get to the part where the star is. Grab the star. Theres is a message block near the right. Stand there and wait out the star. At the very second you turn back jump and hit the message block. You must have perfect timing. If done right, you will stay Super Mario untill you grab another star. The downfall is that your not invincible but you wont die either. Get hit and Mario sounds like Yoshi. On level 2-2 Do this trick and Mario can die on the spikes (but he'll look like Yoshi). Later i'll make a ZSNES movie file to show proof of the Super Baby Mario cheat.

I'll use the "Fireballs go straight" address value as an example. Is there a way I can make this an ips patch so that I can apply the patch to any SMW rom rather than opening the hex editor and editing it manually, and if so, can I do the same for some of the addresses in the SMW rom address thread. I want make quick ips patches so that I can apply them to my rom without opening the hex editor all the time.
