Title says it all. I am completely new to this.
Im callin' it Super Edited World, cause thats all I really know how to do! So far I've 'edited' first 2 islands of SMW and added a new lvl. I was wondering if there was any help resorces that I'm looking over, so that I'm not just editing. Thanks for any help! Some screen shots. Again, Any help would be great!! |

Not bad for a first timer. Watch the floating stuff though (IE: The door in the fifth screenshot, the pirhanas in the fourth screenshot, the bushes in the third), it's quite annoying. Also in the third screenshot is this...
Watch out for pitfalls like that. (edited by asdf on 01-30-06 01:25 AM) |

Remember, it's not just good level design that counts, it's also zero graphical errors that makes a good hack.
This ain't 2003 no more. |

That happens when you overlay a corner tile on top of another tile. Just remove whatever's behind it and it'll fix itself.
Also, cement blocks and munchers = WAY overused. Try replacing some of those blocks with different platform types (grass, ropes, clouds, arches, whatever), and cut WAY down on the munchers. Try using more enemies or some other creative traps instead. |

The way some of those LM screens look, it makes me ask
Have you ever TESTED your hack? O_o One of the Bullet Bill launchers is off BTW |

Yeah, most of these levels look from super to impossible to pass. but good work so far. BTW in pic 4 from the bottom, I see half of a dragon coin up there. Just move it down and add a top to it. Make sure it not on a screen boundry or it'll glitch up. | |||

If you jump under it hitting the cement block the key will randomly pop out. I thought it was pretty sneeky, but It can be changed. |

That's really what I expected to see when I came into the thread. Anyway, what the others said. This is pretty impressive for a newbie. I mean, it's downright impossible for me. Digging those funky loops. Looks like some definite awesome spiral-jumping action right there. |
