That would be a Pentium 3, actually.
The fastest Pentium 2 was 450MHz.

What's the motherboard's brand and model?

Damn. That's nearly double stock speed -- what kind of cooling do you have on that??

And what about the motherboard?

(Actually....LET THE PROCESSOR MELTING BEGIN!)

I'll probably pick it up for a console. Don't want my comp to fucking explode.
Minimum requirements are supposedly in the low GHz CPU w/GF4 MX range. So, it shouldn't be TOO bad.

Recommended is 2GHz CPU with a Radeon 9800 Pro*, IIRC.

*: Pretty much all of my info on requirements came from this thread from PlanetDOOM's forums.

I'd go for name brand because I'm paranoid about such things getting TOO cheap... I keep asking myself how they could get it that cheap.

The first question is answered in one of the links in the very first post in this thread.

As for the second part... there are a lot of boxes that hold the names... you'll have to track them all down and change them. Disch and I discussed that earlier in this thread; read through those posts and you'll have enough info to work with.

Have you gone into the BIOS and made sure that the audio is enabled?
It should be in a menu called "Integrated Peripherals", or something along those lines.

It'll be obsolete within the year unless it burns dual-layer discs.

But anyway, no matter what, it'll take a few years before DVDs become obsolete... the prices for DVD drives/recorders are finally coming to prices where most people can afford them; it'll take a while for whatever comes next to get to that point.

Sounds like an interesting variant to try out some time.

I always liked regular melee/FFA maps but I was also addicted to sniper for a long time. UMS are also very high in my liking.

I had a mild form of epilepsy when I was younger -- don't know why, but it just went away after a couple years.
It's not much of a picnic... an uncle of mine also had epilepsy and nearly swallowed his tongue in his sleep because of a seizure.

Nothing I've heard of yet, but that doesn't mean there won't be one.

If this new PC doesn't run it I'd be shocked and appalled.
It should; see above.

This better be a good game, because if it doesn't live up to expectations... well, it won't. By that I mean it's probably going to be a great game, but some of those fans might expect perfection... We'll see.
Well, I heard that PC Gamer gave it a 94%, but I don't read that mag, so I don't know how good they are at reviewing such things.

That's very similar to what I had.
My vision would totally black out, and I'd usually end up unconscious on the floor.

I'm just glad I don't (seem to) have it anymore... it wasn't nice.

Is there some problem with the power in your house/appartment?
That sounds truly weird to me, and I can't think of another possibility off the top of my head right now.

Taking out the surge protector?
That's definitely weird... I'd guess that it's a power supply related problem, except that it's multiple computers in different locations, so that's somewhat unlikely....

Does everyone use the same kind of surge protectors? Perhaps you got a bad batch of those? (I'm just throwing out ideas here... as you said, this is very strange).

Would probably depend on the state; they each have their own rules about who's eligible for a driver's license, and their own procedures for taking licenses away for medical reasons.

Some people only have sezirues as small kid, I now someone who stopped having seizures when she was 6 year old. She is 18 now...
That seems to be what happened to me... the last time I had any kind of seizure, I was 11... that was a decade ago.

He was IP banned within about 5 minutes of the admins noticing what he was doing; all I have to say about that is: GOOD RIDDANCE!

Posted on 07-15-04 03:49 AM, in Expanding NES ROMs Link
It depends on the game you want to expand.

Most games probably have no program capable of doing that; you'll have to do it by hand.
If so, you also might need to change the mapper in use, and that can get very complicated (I had to change the mapper the FF1 ROM uses, but thankfully it was pretty easy for that game).
