The file could easily have become corrupt from anything from a bug in the editor to solar flares. This stuff happens.

But it still isn't easy. I have been having troubles with smb3 because of a few graphics problems. But I think I will just forget about it and go ahead.

If someone can help me with one more thing... I CANNOT FIND THE LOST LEVELS OFFSETS!! All I found was level order and pointers.
example:I can make WD-4 into W1-1.
Anyways, someone want to share the fun of finding offsets?
I'm looking for level and enemy offsets, I want to change when the hammer bros. walk (in smb too), and I want to determine when Pirhana Plants turn red.

Insect, if you want to make smb2, I'd like your help.

One more thing, If I change the sprite lakitu throws, what would you like it to be?
(dont say warkitu)

Cameras Goombas.

Oi! No ROM site links. And if it's the exact same as SMW, then all you found was the Japanese version of SMW.

Depends what you want.
Graphics: Use that hack, just look around a bit for it.
Objects/sprites/music: Either program them yourself or wait for someone else to.

I don't know of any new blocktool. The FastROM patch will help, but if you have a lot of blocks (I have ~270, could stand to remove some though) you'll still get a bit of slowdown at time. (Also, it's incompatible with the gravity-changing blocks; your ROM won't run if you apply both.)

A save point sounds like a good idea. Having to go through a whole level to save sucks. (In the original SMW, I always just used the Top Secret Area exit; just fly up and go in the door. )

If possible, you should make the TV do something (at least animate), and make the bed act like note blocks so you can jump on it. You might even consider adding a second floor with other things, like a bathroom (or at least some closed doors).

Kangaskhan + Rhydon = Garura and Sidon so, that is not the case. What is the difference between those two codes anyway? If they just do the same thing..

Probably not, but looking at that example, it's possible. The compiler/filesystem/whatever may have treated 'ga' as 'ka'. Though yeah, it's probably not that.

And those codes don't do exactly the same thing. Try 'em out.

Every now and then, yeah. I just feel like something bad is going to happen (can never tell what). It usually doesn't though.

Though I can sense storms coming. I can feel the electricity in the air, and it always seems to be this one certain temperature.

Yeah, that did it.

For some reason, though, this is corrupting memory:

(in ctrlevent.c)
switch(OptID)
{
case MLINK_TOP:
i = GetConnectionIndex(CONNECTION_TOP);
y = i;
if(i>0)
{
sprintf(TempStr[0],"No map linked at top.");
SetText(GetDlgItem(hWindow[DLG_MAIN],MAIN_LBL_STATUS),TempStr[0]);
break;
}
if(!SavePrompt()) break;
if(y != i) DebugOut(DO_MAJOR,"Connection error, i=%d (should be %d)\n",i,y);
LoadMap(Map.Connection[i].DestMap);
break;
[the same stuff repeated with different variables]
}

(in map.c)
BOOL SavePrompt()
{
if(MapSaved) return true;
int rc = MessageBox(hWindow[DLG_MAIN],"Would you like to save the current map?","Save",MB_YESNOCANCEL | MB_ICONQUESTION);
if(rc == IDCANCEL) return false;
if(rc == IDYES)
{
MessageBox(0,"SavePrompt(): TODO: Save map!","Hey!",MB_ICONEXCLAMATION);
}
return true;
}

i and y are global integers and somehow both are getting corrupted when SavePrompt() gets called. i is usually either 2 or 70, and y is 6, 7 or 15, when neither should be above 4 (in this particular case both should be below 2). Without the SavePrompt() call it works fine.

[edit] Here's another fun problem. The Control key is virtually sticking. If I press Control once, GetKeyState() returns True until I press it again. Nevermind, it was the toggle bit. Dunno why Control can be toggled but yeah.

[more editing] Any way to set a window's client size? Like give it a size and it automatically adjusts the window?

Nice! I can see this being quite useful for those insignificant things I don't feel like writing an editor for.

Say, what's that leftmost button on the titlebar?

The bigger the monitor, the higher resolution you can use without squinting. Personally I want one of those projectors that let you use an entire wall as a screen... can't spare $3000 for it though.

That's not going to work if you use a ghost program. You'll just end up with an exact copy which means itll be FAT32. WinXP can convert it to NTFS though.
