Good morning/day/afternoon/evening/night, everyone.

A long, long time ago I registered at a forum I won't name. It was my first forum online, ever. I had a very good time, and I still reffer to that time as the "Golden Age of my Internet Life". But all good things eventually come to an end and so did that forum. After it I was left forumless and lost. I joined many forums, but none were the same.

Today, due to some sort of freak coincidence I found myself on this forum again. Back in the Golden Age I came here once or twice, but never registered or anything like that. But today, finally, I did.

I hope I'll be able to have a good time here, just like back then. I really do. I'll do my best to abide by the rules and be as helpful as possible. Forums also help me increase my English skills which have gotten really low lately.

...oh, I've overdone it yet again. Sorry...

Edit: Fixed a typo. It was annoying me. Sorry.

I envy you. Though school should be officialy over tomorrow here, I still have one class that I kind of failed.
I have 10 days to fix the grade or fail the entire year. Than there's two months of relaxation and vacationing. ...can't wait...

Ah, wonderful!

Chrono trigger has some of the best music I know of.
Yes, I know it's strange, but I only listen to game soundtracks therefor this is great news for me.
Honestly, I hope it gets completed. The two samples are nice.

Ah, MapleStory. I used to play that some time ago with two friends of mine. Eventually we all stopped playing*, but they returned to play; I, on the other hand, could not.
For some reason my ISP doesn't allow access to their website, so I can't redownload the client. But that's not all, my account is gone as well, and I can't register a new one.
I suppose that I could use a proxy, but using a proxy for an online game isn't wise. I have no choice but to...not play.

I e-mailed my ISP asking why it was blocked, but I never got any replies. Some ISP...

* It just got _too_ tedious... leveling up is boring in any game, MS not being an exception.

I had to pick up a book at the local bookstore today, but I had to wait a few minutes so that the overly-nice storekeeper went to the back and found it.

While browsing their selection of books, I came to a discovery. Most of (85%+) of the books were either English or German. While this may not seem weird to most of you, the thing is that Slovene books are becoming rarer and rared. What's up with this? Are small languages dying?

This bookstore is part of a major Slovene bookstore chain, but if you go to a smaller, privately owned bookstore, Slovene books prevail.
I'm amazed, really. Everyone is complaining that the language is underrated, yet this is happening. What do they expect? :/

How much foreign literature can be found in your local bookstore (assuming you've ever been there)?

I chose Nitrogen Asphyxiation. It seems to be a good method.

Hanging - I was never a big fan of hanging. If done improperly takes way too long. Kinda my phobia.
Firing Squad - Most likely effective, but what if they all miss? Why waste bullets?
Gas Chamber - This was used for mass executions during WW2, wasn't it? I bet it causes a lot of needless pain. But it must really depend on the gas they use.
Electric Chair - Electricity is, as it was already said, too unpredictable.
Lethal Injection - Apparently they put stuff in there that make it so you don't feel pain, but recently some people began claiming that isn't really so. I'm not sure...
Nitrogen Asphyxiation - I'm all for it.

I only watched CCS. I was kinda forced to watch it at first (long story, don't ask), but eventually I've grown to like it.
It's one of the better animes I know, in my opinion anyway.

I think I still have the Japanese episode (subbed) somewhere on some DVDs... Custum DVD and fansubbed, mind you.

Just...short. I cannot describe it in any more detail.
Well, that's what I'd normally say, but the truth is that I haven't cur my hair in a while so now it's not really as short as normally.
As for a style... I don't have one. I accept what I get. XD

Speaking about the end of the school year, I managed to do something completely idiotic yet again.

Today was the official last day of school, the report cards were given to the students. Of course, I somehow managed to miss the entire thing. I'm so proud of myself yet again.
Never have I missed a class in the entire year, but now I miss the last day!? Argh. Woe is me.

As someone who only listens to game music and some other soundtracks (mostly anime) I have to say that I like it. While is isn't my favorite music, it's certainly a lot better than most of the other music out there.

Posted on 06-24-05 07:26 PM, in Smoking or Non Smoking Link
I don't smoke, and I never have. I won't judge people who do, it's their choice and in my opinion, it's a waste of money. Cigarettes cost an awful lot these days. It's simply not worth it.

Both of my parents smoke. My mom stopped at one point, but started again eventually, so I'm used to second-hand smoking. Some time ago a law regarding no-smoking areas in pubs and restaurants was enforced.
To abide by it, every restaurant must have two separated zones, one for smokers and the other for non-smokers. Some think this is a wonderful idea, others that it sucks, but I don't have my own opinion. Whenever I do go to a restaurant it's with my mom and she smokes so I sit at the smokers area.
As long as people don't smoke directly into me (which has happened before, damnit), it doesn't bother me. It's their lungs that are at stake.

Posted on 06-24-05 07:35 PM, in What Is Your Favorite Final Fantasy Game? Link
My vote: Final Fantasy VI
Reason: FF6 was one of the best SNES RPGs I played. Only Chrono Trigger is better than it (in my opinion, of course). I like the music, especially the whole opera thing. I even have some soundtracks somewhere.
The gameplay was good, and the graphics were good as well. While it is true it's "inferior" to the later FF games, it's still my favorite.

Community service? Are you, like, in some sort of prison or something?

The closes thing to that we have some sort of "choosable classes", however, this just means you have to go to an extra class or do something outside school (like boyscouts, the fire department, football club...), but if you fail you fail class.

It's funny to compare school systems around the world.

However, lucky enough I don't really have to get out of my way to make him stop, after all, the fuse box is right outside my front door.

I agree. They should be allowed to do whatever they want. As long as they don't start bombing other countries, that is.
Most of the world is paranoid when it comes to nuclear stuff, I gather.

Posted on 06-27-05 07:05 AM, in Obesity a disease??!! Link
Heh, interesting topic.
A few months ago I was admitted to the hospital where they found out I was at the brink of getting diabetes (my diagnosis was "Obesitus Gravis", yes, in Latin for very fat, with a complication of high insulin resistance.). If I didn't change my diet immediately I'd get it. I already have high insulin resistance, but can for now avoid the injections and only have to eat a pill called Aglurab twice per day (speaking of which, I don't think I've taken one today yet ).
But since then I lost about 30 KG. I'm feeling a lot better, but some of the effects still remain. I still have the pills, I wonder if I'll ever be able to get off them...

But no, not even while in the hospital, not even once did anyone say that obesity was an illness. Some people have very bad genes, others might have disabilities like my high insulin resistance which made me feel as if I need more food than I actually did, but some people are fat simply because they overenjoy themselves.

The last group... Well, I'd say they're addicted to eating, but I wouldn't call it a disease...

A long, long time ago people were only able to eat what they could get, but now, the standards are so high that food isn't hard to get and all. The main goal of people isn't to get food and survive anymore, but to enjoy themselves. Eating is an enjoyable activity for most people, even me...especially me. I guess this is just an effect of the progress of humanity...
