Nostradamus didn't predict shit. Anyone could have said "a king will fall" (I'm sure others did), and it's ridiculous to say that this line means he predicted the French Revolution. And if we could actually tell what the hell he was predicting, we'd be able to find everything out BEFORE it happened and not look at it later and decide that he predicted it.

But gah, what do I know? And before someone mocks me (Kyouji? ), I'll answer that: Jack shit.

Or maybe I'll just say "What the Bleep Do We Know?"... a good movie in my opinion.

I drink whatever milk is there. Sometimes it is 2%, sometimes skim, sometimes whole... sometimes ORGANIC.

I honestly have no idea why my parents buy so many kinds of milk, but it has gotten to the point where I can tolerate them all.

Gah, ok, the cutest thing that are harmful to you are the little penguins in SMW2. Yes, I know they don't take away your health. But you can't say that friends would be bouncy and stand in places where you would likely fall off a cliff if you hit them. They are enemies. And they are something I'd want as a pet. Therefore, they are the cutest.

Actually, I was at a wedding once, when I was a little younger, and I was meeting someone that apparently I was supposed to meet (I forget why). He stuck his right hand out, and I stuck my left hand out. xD He laughed, and then switched to his left and shook. I suppose if you could get people to do THAT every time, it would work. And as Australian Bunny said, it wouldn't be wise at a job interview.

... Then again, since I'm in no danger of losing the job I have, I think I'll just apply to some crap place and try that now. xD Thanks for the idea, Bunny artist!

Even though I rarely am around computers that support PC games of this quality, I always am mareveled by looking at pics and reading about them. I played Morrowind a bit and liked it, so I'm sure if I ever got my hands on this I'd like it too.

Also, I've been wondering for a while... whatever happened to "Dark and Light"? Did its development never become popular enough to continue developing it, or are they still making it and hoping there is some hype about it AFTER its release?

Name changing was fun... wow, it actually turned out to barely be more active as a whole than yesterday, even with only half the Anya-age. I found that surprising, because it felt less active

However... why do you bother changing the names back to normal? We'll all change back to normal in a few days anyway, I'm sure, so leaving the SW names in on the list isn't a big issue. Well, I don't think it is, anyway.

Don't worry DOS. I know someone who erased all their crap in a FAR stupider way than you.

This girl at school had heard about the whole thing where you shouldn't have magnets near the iPod. She didn't believe it, and just brushed it off as a typical rumor... so she went into the Physics teacher's room into the lab area, and actually got it by a magnet...

She lost about 2 gigs of songs... Stupid, STUPID. So really, the fact that you were messing around with it anyway and inadvertantly screwed it up isn't anywhere close to being as bad as knowing about what can fuck it up and deliberately going and doing it anyway.

Well, you COULD just call it a continual fad

Then again, I suppose there is a point where you have to cut off "fad" and start calling it "tradition"... is it when there is a yearly convention for something, perhaps?

It's Earth Day! Understand?

Today is Earth Day, the one day of the year that people actually CARE about the environment.

You will find a few more people throwing their trash away instead of leaving it on the ground, as well as an abnormally large number of citizens *gasp* RECYLCING. Then again, in our country, Earth Day is practically ignored, and so probably everything will stay the same. Do any of our members from other countries celebrate Earth Day? I'm interested in knowing.

Maybe instead of celebrating just "Earth Day," we should consider having "Earth Year", so that people might actually be conscious about what they do to their natural environment until the next Earth Day... in which there would be a new Earth Year

Honestly, though, one day of being nice to the environment won't do anything towards fixing the years, even centuries of damage that have been done in the areas of species diversity, global warming, ozone depletion, air and water quality, and... dare I say it, population control.

In order for us to fix any of these things, there needs to be a long term commitment from a large number of people. The government can take some responsibility, for they can make policies that practically force people to live a certain way (well, greatly encourage it, at least). Further research of new fuels so that we can move away from fossil fuels is a big step towards slowing down the problems that we have either created or accelerated, and perhaps even fixing them. Governments and businesses also will have to make sacrifices and move away from oil based products as well, and this part will probably be harder than creating practical replacements themselves.

While it is the government's responsibility to regulate certain things, there are a lot of things that citizens can do by using what we already have. Making sure that homes are energy efficient might cost a few bucks, but for those that can afford to fix them up, the long term money and energy savings are enormous. Just doing simple things like turning off anything that isn't being used is helpful as well.

Pollution from businesses and farms may be hard to control, but people can do simple things by actually throwing away garbage and picking up stuff that they see on the ground. Perhaps people can start recycling today if they don't do so already. Possibly they can start a compost bin as well. Any little action helps, and if enough people start caring, then a lot can be done to at least slow down the troubles that we humans have already started up.

So, if you see a piece of trash on the ground today, please pick it up. Throw it in the appropriate type of disposal bin. Turn off the lights in a room that is not being used. While I would like everyone to do this every day, I realize that the odds of such a thing happening are slim. At the very least, do all the environmentally practical things on the day that is designated for it.

And as my great science teacher has said, "Think globally and act locally."

So,
REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE
