Been kinda just ignoring it and letting it grow over summer, thing is, it's kinda getting in my mouth now. Hate to do this, it feels almost like a betrayal, but haircut next week! *runs away scared*

Yeah, but I get the feeling this makes me look like some Beatles reject

Fat Ian had the best for headbanging, dreadlocked, really stung

I guess bouffant, but i'm being pessimistic :p Probably just annoyed i've been up since 7am and it's decided to exert it's independence today

It's really just ska-punkish, may just toss a coin and decide whether to give it the chop or not.

I'm using linux (on my lappy, Hyatt) n'all Well, that and XP, but i've got a few computers lying around

The XP comp (Excel ) is just a glorified media center these days though, and Ilpalazzo's been relegated to router/firewall duty...

I should be fairly good at it after next year (in addition to my already 'ub0r l33t0r' coding skills), doing a Games Programming module _o/

But, it's always a joke that there are lots of people more willing to design websites for projects than there are people to actually do them

If these things exist, lemme know before I waste a looot of time

Firstly, I'm new to the whole ROM editing thing, but i'm a pretty old hat at programming. So, if people could furnish me with useful links to references on file formats used or even a C library that does this already (it must be fully GPL compatible though, if it's not I'll just write one from scratch) i'd appreciate it

Sorry, that was pretty general of me Modelling stuff in Lisp gets boring after a while and I'm after a new project.

I'm not aware of any editors available for *nix, most of the discussion here involves Visual Basic, QBasic etc., which we're mostly free of over here *g*

The first task, of course, is to build a library that handles all the file i/o, image manipulation etc. Thankfully there's a lot of support for the latter already thanks to various other GPL'd libraries. But, I don't know of any libs for ROM hacking that already exist, and, well, I'm not sure how much fun it'd be to just use one of them anyway

After that's written, then a GUI that uses the lib(s) that were just created would be built. As I'm using Gnome, I'd write a Gtk2 gui But I'm not sure that's worth worrying about yet, and it _should_ be the simple bit anyway.

This is a turn up for the books I'm moving into some new rented housing next week, but, due to landlord's being pricks I've had to rent it since july. Anyway, I'm moving in with 4 other people, all of whom I thought were pretty ok.

And, well, it turns out most of 'em are. Apart from one. Who's had a friend of her staying in my room (that i'm paying rent on and haven't even spent more than 4 hours in yet) all summer, without even bothering to ask me. Of course, I found out from a friend there who's alright, just found out, and is a bit shocked at all this too. Anyway, I've just booked coach tickets to head up there tomorrow (by a remarkable twist of fate, there's a party on in Sheffield too tomorrow night, rather timely I though). With a sleeping bag (no bedding up there, unless i can kindly use theirs?) and lock to fit to the door in tow.

While it takes a lot to annoy me, and a lot more to get me going half-way across the bloody country at the drop of a hat, I'm one to hold grudges too. But, I know that may create more than a bit of tension. While I think they deserve whatever hellfire I can unleash, hell, I wouldn't mind some f*cking rent back, anybody got any advice for dealing with this in a tactful manner?

    *sighs in relief of venting*

Make the second one free-scaling (add some padding cells, or divs, or whatever you're using, not checked the source) and I'm all for it

I'm using GNU/Linux too, Debian, and maybe it's the browser (Firefox), but the font's showing up fine, and I don't have fixedsys installed, but I do have terminal fonts on here.

Hmm, I'll see what happens when I get there. We've got a pretty good student's union here, and I've some friend on the executive (not just neil tomo!), so if it gets icky I'll see about taking legal action through them. Would much rather it didn't get that far, just make a small example and have done with. It's an attic room, so right now I'm thinking of throwing some of the stuff out the roof-light and leaving the rest dumped on the stairs. *shrugs* Leaving in about 40 minutes, so we'll see what happens
