Well, this isn't really a bug, but I noticed this at my AcmlmBoard.

After posting a new reply, you should normally be taken automatically to the latest post, but this isn't happening (at least not with me).

This is because the <a name="number of post"> tag is between a <tr> and <td> tag.
Just move that tag inside the td tag.

Has this not been noticed all this time ???

I will edit this post in a second...

Edit: This bug doesn't happen to me.

Edit 2: Browser do you use?

Uh, I think he means on his own AcmlmBoard, not on this board. Why he didn't post this in AcmlmBoard Programming, I don't know.

Mercury, if this only applies to your board, and you found the problem, why are you pointing this out?

Just in case this bug was here as well, to help and fix it... I guess.

Nope, this isn't on my board (I fixed it there ).

When I reply, it just takes me to the top of the thread, not the latest post.
But if this isn't the case with anyone else, this topic can be closed I guess .

Btw, I use Firefox.
Firefox uses XHTML, right?
Maybe most of you guys use IE, and as we all know IE has other standards .

I am now testing to see if that is the case for me.

Same for me, I get taken to the top of the thread instead of to my post.

How come I've never noticed this before?

Yeah, strange indeed .
In fact, I didn't notice it at my board, but one of the members, and I've been using AcmlmBoard for a couple of years now .

But it's easy to fix as I pointed out in my first post.

Testing with Mozilla, will edit the results into this post in a moment...

Edit:
Mozilla doesn't automatically scroll down either.

Not really a big deal though... is it really that difficult to hit the [End] button to scroll down to the bottom of the page (where the reply will be anyway)?

It's not a big deal indeed, but choosing between it doing it automatically or not, I'd rather have it do it for me...
But yeah it's a minor thing.
I'm still going to fix on my board, though. Cheers Mercury.

Edit: Although it worked just fine for me, when I posted this reply. I'm still going to fix it on my board if it's going to work for more people in the end...

Of course it doesn't, the code isn't a standard.
And why does IE scroll down? Because IE is full of bugs itself (hello! it's Microsoft!), and it doesn't follow standards.

So I don't really get why you link to IE6 Yoghurt Duck, this isn't the fault of the browser .

Mercury, I tried fixing the bug but was confused when I looked at the file...
The file being newreply.php... Right ?

Could you give more details about where the change needs to be done ?

Nope, it's at function.php with the different post layouts .

Just move the <a name> tag inside the TD tag.

I've noticed it in Firefox. It's the main reason (That and no built-in FTP client plus no way to save images) why I switched back to IE.

Thanks, but there are many td tags, and many <a name> tags in the file... Plus I wouldn't know whether to move the thing to the td tag above or the one below. :p
I suck at PHP, I'm still learning...

Got more precise info ? Like a couple of lines so I'm sure I won't miss it ?
Thank you.

Well, you have to do this with all postlayouts, there are about 6.

Example for postlayout 3:

if($postlayout==3){

$postdate=date("m-d-y h:i A",$post[date]+$tzoff);
$poststext="Posts: ";
$postnum="$post[num]/";
$posttotal=$user[posts];
$postlist="
<a name=$post[id]>$tcellbg rowspan=2><a name=$post[id]>$fonttag
<a href=profile.php?id=$u><font $namecolor>$user[name]</font></a><br>
$smallfont Posts: $postnum$posttotal</td>
$tcellbg width=80%><table cellspacing=0 cellpadding=2 width=100%><td><nobr>$smallfont Posted on $postdate</td><td width=255><nobr>$smallfont$quote$edit$ip</table><tr>
$tcellbg height=60>$fonttag$post[headtext]$post[text]$post[signtext]</td>
";
}

As you can see, the "a name" tag (red) should be inside the TD tag (green).
