Hey im confused i keep trying to learn C++ using visual studio and when i use the premade window no tutorials will compile without me having to look up what every variable means what do you do when you want to write a c++ program when you use Visual Studio O_o im really trying hard to learn c++ and its killlllllling me |

first of all...learning to build programs that look like windows is a too big of jump...right now, that is something you don't need to worry about if you just want to learn the language itself. as far as C++ tutorials out there, i believe you are better off finding a book that will teach you C++ as they are geared towards people with no experience and are better written since the people making the tutorials have had feed back on their book. in my experience, online C++ tutorials are as good as a Ford Pinto... |

I hate visual studio. Personally, I would suggest a commandline-driven compiler. There are many available, most are based on GCC. Second, neotransotaku has the right idea: Start small. Build simple console programs first. Win32 is just an extensione to the C language. You will be able to interact with your Win32 User Interface using functions and pointers and whatnot. But first, you need to learn about functions and pointers, etc etc. |
