If I want to change the background of this level:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Then I go to Copy background image, but if I change the background for let's say a water level then it says this:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

What should I do???

It means if you use the water background, you need to use the water tileset.

1. Click yes
2. Open the old (or super if you prefer it... I prefer the old one) GFX bypass.
3. Enable it, then for the BG1 slot (upper-right dropdown box)
4. Out of the available options, select number $0D.
5. Click Okay.
6. There you go

However, certain tilesets use graphics in that file for FG GFX, but that tilesat doesn't, as far as I remember.

No. If you don't want to use any tileset specific item,s you could change the GFX tileset in header to get the correct animated tiles, or you could romove the seaweed tiles (with the wrong animated GFX) from the backgground with the BG editor (green leaf icon is toolbar).

I'm too lazy to open a new thread.
I have a problem with the famous background garbage. I changed the "SNES Registers and Level Modes" to 0D so I have a vertical level. I tried all combinations of FG and BG initial positions but the only thing that changes is the Y-coordinate of the garbage. It just won't go away... T.T

Move your entrance up or down a screen. Having it on an odd (or was it even? ) screen will do that.

BTW there's a program to convert images between BMP, JPEG, GIF and PNG without any crappy ads - MSPaint.

My level uses Underground 2 and it works, try that.

I changed the Entrance from screen 0 to screen 1 but it still produces garbage (besides: I would have to rebuild the whole level if I move it down...)

It's because you already bypassed the GFX. Find the FG UG GFX file no., and enter it into the Bypass Dialog.
