One thing I've noticed is that sometimes when I go to online.php, admins will be accessing a certain... *.php page that I don't think regular users are supposed to know about. Perhaps it might e a good idea to update online.php to not display people using those pages? (An admin should know what i'm talking about.)

Certain people shouldn't be spying on staff either. :\

But yea, there's no way you can view it by just clicking on the link.

I have found links to parts of the board that I had no clue existed. However, I was not spying on staff, just board and decided to check out online.php.

I have found pages that say: Not a Moderator. Ones that say: Not an Administrator and stuff like that.

I have tried clicking on these links and they do nothing but bring me to a useless (or main) page. I see Colleen and Toxic in these pages all the time.

It's no real problem. The only security 'issue' it presents is that people can find out where the admin stuff is, and they could just as easily download 1.A3 and look for themselves.

I think it wouldn't be such a bad idea to change the linked direct urls (where users are at, shown in online.php) to just text, say something like ...

Xeolord - Currently viewing (Online.php idea) in Help / Suggestions

Err, something like that. phpBB has something like this, where it's just text.

Either way, it's not that big of a deal. Just looking at it with actual text instead of direct urls would look nicer, but again, it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

I didn't know that Online.php == Spying on an admin. Anyways, just a thought, do what you want with it.

Now this guy's got the right idea. If nothing else, display the page title and relative URL:
UserViewingURL
HyperHackerHelp / Suggestions: Online.php ideathread.php?id=16918

The URL being displayed because staff sometimes use it when someone is suspected of trying to hack the board; it makes it easy to tell when someone's screwing with URLs they shouldn't be.

Personally, I like it the way it is. That'd take out all the fun of 'chatting' in online.php

Or you could do what Xkeeper does and add in ////////////////// enough so anyone looking at you in Online.php has no clue where you are. It also redirects you to the main page upon a click.

I forget how to "chat" in online.php. I think it involves alt codes and ///// but I'm not sure. Ii used to know how.

Actually, ||bass fixed that //////// thing. So sad.

And no, no alt codes are needed to 'chat' in online.php... only if you want spaces

It still shows the URL, though. So you could still use it to chat. Which nobody does anyway.

It's just because that got old - even on the old forum I only sometimes saw people chatting in /online.php

I like the way it is. On an AcmlmBoard I don't feel like on the "train stations" phpBB and such. Just these classic things like marking forums read by hand - the fully customizable board structure and other things make it just neat.

Why not just put in 'Restricted' for people who can't see the page normally?
