Okay, so it might contain more than traces of catgirl. So it's um, blatant catgirl.  Still, the warning's there so those who are easily offended by catgirls can avoid it or whatever. (Seeing as how there are some people here who don't like them and all). Now for the pic  Click on it to see it bigger... And of course the comparison picture between old and new. The old one was more or less thrown together, not really a "complete" picture as much as it was a colored sketch. I tried to actually make a more polished picture out of it. As with my other redraw, I did soften a lot of lines and make her more feminine and curvy. I tried a few experimental things here that I'm not sure if I got right, but I like the general effect anyways. I did the coloring as normal, then tried to also do the secondary light source of the light coming off the moon (the yellowish highlights on the character) as well. I like the effect I got, even though I'm not sure if I have it all right, I still think I got it right enough to convey the general idea. I also did nighttime cloudy things, which I like The first picture's cuter, but I think I definitely like the second better at the moment |

Heh, I remember the original thread when you posted that art; I just couldn't resist to post a link. And my stupid non-constructive comment is there... oh well, I progressed in that area. Nowdays I know better than just writing "It's CUTE ^___^".  Uhm, why would anyone really be offended by anthropomorphic art? I just can't simple understand why anyone would be? As long it's clean... After all, our culture is flooded with it. Then, we do have the "anti-furries" who just do misery against other people over anything remotely anthropomorphic... (And sorry for that little rant >>; ) Holy shit, even the original was great. This shows what two years drawing will do. I love the colouring and the shading, it's just much better than the original. And that's probably something I will have problems to grasp for years to come... (I can draw decently, but can't colour for shit. She definitely looks more grown up and stuff, which is *not* an easy thing to illustrate. Far easier to draw cutesy, not that your original is anything to be scoffed at either. ^-^ Your general skills have improved very much over a short space of time, and they were already good to begin with. She's very sessy. Needs to be uploaded to your DA account. And you *can* colour, clearly. Look at those clouds too!! They're wonderful. Very very impressive and pretty. Don't every apologise for posting a catgirl pic though. If anyone's 'offended' by it they need to get over themselves and get their priorities straight. I'm so glad you're workin' on your art all the time, it's great, and you're just going to get better. EDIT: And, just after I type this, it's on your DA account. Whee. | LOL, I knew I forgot something! Yeah, I just put it up on DA. I just noticed Chalo's note on my page too, and then I went and took Kate off to put the Catgirl up in the featured spot! Poor Chalo... I'll make it up to him (might draw an adult Kate sometime)  And is anybody else finding deviantART to be a real... fucken... POG ( x between a pig and a dog) right now?  As for your point on people getting uppity about catgirl stuff, I agree Fyxe, but I do still like to put the warning just in case. Plus "May contain traces of catgirl" makes me giggle It's a pity I don't get the chance to draw more, this pic was done over three nights, in between cooking, cleaning, excercising, commuting, calling my brother a prat, etc. |

| Wee, I just printed this one out at work on the color laser printer and it looks coooooool. Except for the dodgy line in it where the printer needs to be serviced, anyways. | Alrighty ... first of all, great picture. In comparing the original pic with the revamped one, it shows great improvement and a small change in style. The anatomy, composition, coloring, and just the overall look has improved. However ... It's time for a small bit of constructive criticism. *dun dun dun* Well, from what I can tell, your catgirl *shudders* is supposed to be sitting on the moon ... correct? Well, if it is, it doesn't really look like it. Instead, it looks like she's just in front of the moon. *shot* Well, to fix it, you ought to put part of the visible, umm, cheek on the moon. If you do that, you'd also have to change a few things. Mainlyl, there would be pressure on her rear, obviously, and you'd have to form her clothes to her body and work with bends and folds. Of course, that's tedious work.  There, that's it.
