I have a question. How are you gonna make hammer mario, frog mario, and tanooki mario? Looks like before you finish this hack you'll have to learn a TON of ASM, huh?

Yea!

There will be a lot of ASMming in tjis hack, thats for sure. maybe for the tanooki suit part of the routine called could be the normal feather mario routine to save time and effort.

Anyway, I recall someone working on a power-up editor which allows you to add new powerups.

Er, how would that work? Adding powerups would be about 94% ASM, 5% editing sprite arrangements, and 1% editing the pointer tables to fit them.

Yeah chris, i'll just tick the enable left box for those levels. Adding extra powerups? That'd be excellent cause i'd be able to keep the cape in the game like in SMA4! I'll probably try to learn ASM soon enough. The animations? If i can find the frames for the games original animations, i could make some of the more important ones like the fire in w8.

Try looking in GFX33.bin I think that's the correct one.

you will need to make a custom block for the hack that is a coin, but will turn into a breakable brick when a pow is hit. If you do make one, could you send me the .bin file for blk tool to smwedit@gmail.com?

Wow very impressive. And yeah I think Yoshi fits well. Who says he has to be the same color anyway. I am just wondering how you are going to do certain things like when you go on the plants in world 7 and they are supposed bring you in to the levels automatically. ASM is definately needed.

I have an Idea that you should do for the castles that then go to the airship. you should have the inside with all the GFX and a layer 1 version of mario. to hide mario, put him on the top of the screen with blocks over and under him.place the right medium movement blocks found in block tool set as 25 on top of him and at the very right, put a teleport block (also found in block tool). make the screen exit go to the airship.

Holy shit...

peter_ac owns us all when it comes to SMAS GFX.

I can't wait for this to be finished. :O Until then all I can do is play his SMB1, but that's good too.

how do you make the goombas act differently when they are stomped on (in smb and what will be done in smb3)
