EDIT: The first and second bosses of The Final Fortress have had their health reduced. In addition, the links are now in the names, as they should be.

nutman suggested I make this thread, so... here we are!

Crystal Core is done now. WOO! Two new creations were finished (I don't have any pics, though). They were designed to be challenging, but not ridiculously so. I want to know what you guys think of them:

GROWTH CORE
Series: Original
Signature Weapon: None
HP: 13,000?
Idea Behind Creation: A boss with multiple forms; it is intended to be fought either at the middle of an adventure, or near the end.
Notes: Gets stronger as it takes damage.

THE FINAL FORTRESS
Series: Original
Signature Weapon: None
HP: None
Idea Behind Creation: The fortress/level right before the final boss of a fictional adventure mode or whatever. There are several rooms, each with a trial you must overcome to reach the next one.
Notes: For best effect, set the spawning position as "Fixed".

You made Crystal Core? Damn, now another old one goes in the trash... Anywho, can't wait to try your bosses. They sound interesting.

You should give them actual links.
For example:
GROWTH CORE
(Quote my post to see how to do it)

Nice id number on Growth Core by the way.

I really like your bosses, good job.
The bosses in The Final Fortress could use a little health tweaking, (i.e. the first boss has a ton of health in comparison to the third boss.)

For some reason, Box Core takes reduced damage from all weapons. All the same, I reduced the HP of the first one to 3000, and the second one now has 6500, as opposed to 8000.

This is because it has the most "energy" out of all the cores.

Just in case someone needs clarification on the energy mechanics of cores.
I wrote something up about it a while ago.

Another boss has been more or less completed!

TITANIC NAZCA FIGHTER PLANE
Series: Original
Signature Weapon: None
HP: 17,000?
Idea Behind Creation: Created using the Nazca Lines for inspiration, the empire tries to use this against you at the half-way point of the adventure mode. It has many armaments, but we are certain you can defeat it.
Notes: It has many bullet weapons, and they can be destroyed. I wanted to make it so that at certain points during the battle, all of its parts would change to Shadow, and it would quickly fly past you while laying energy balls that explode after a few seconds, firing bullets in all directions. After it did this, it would return and become vulnerable again. However, I have no idea how to do that. Like most of my bosses, it is intended to be challenging, but definitely beatable.

Your Titanic Nazca Fighter Plane is lagalicious, but yet, it's simply great to fight.

I suggest you cut down on the blades, it's causing the unnecessary lag.

They were meant to be feathers, but I don't understand extra paramaters and such, so... Yeah. Anyway, the download link has been edited. He's now less lag-inducing, and he has a nice "damaged" spark effect when his HP gets low.

You all may (or may not) be wondering what I'm working on presently. Well, aside from still working on "Final Boss", I finished working on another Gradius 3 boss. It has the most parts of all my creations to date, but it is very faithful to its source material. BEHOLD, AND TREMBLE BEFORE THE AWESOME MIGHT OF....

Spoiler:
THE LEGENDARY GUNWALL!!

???
Series: Gradius
Signature Weapon: None
HP: 21,000?
Idea Behind Creation: In homage to Gradius. It is intended to be fought as the boss of a fortress later on in the adventure mode.
Notes: Based on the boss of the same name, from Gradius III for the SNES. It took a LOT of work to make, but I am so happy with the way this turned out.

NEMESIS
Series: Semi-Original
Signature Weapon: Many
HP: 15,000
Idea Behind Creation: You have a rival who wanted to pilot the Vic Viper. However, you were chosen instead because he is very rash and always acts before thinking. As such, he quickly decides you are his enemy. Later on in the adventure mode, it turns out your old rival betrayed planet Gradius and joined the evil empire, and is fought as the boss before the Mirage Dragon. But the worst part is...
Spoiler:
he is piloting the original Vic Viper.

Notes: As you deplete its health, the boss starts activating more and more of its signature weapons. This boss can be very hard to beat.

So now I've decided to ask for help. More specifically, is anyone interested in doing a conjointly-made boss?

By that, I mean I am asking if anyone is interesting in working with a few other people (me being one of them) in making a boss. The reason is while I know what I want to do, I don't know how.

I am sure many of us have heard of "Gradius Gaiden" - a PSX game of amazing quality, fantastic music and bosses. Well, what I wanted to do is one of the last bosses from that game: the Big Ducker.

The idea I have right now is that he'd be fought in a tunnel-like room, like he is in Gradius Gaiden. He'd have two legs and walked back and forth, but one of his legs would be shadowed (it's in the background, after all). You have to shoot his core, which won't be too hard to hit, but you have to attack at certain times or you'll get hit by one of his attacks, the most deadly being a large laser beam from the cannon on his back.

So, is anyone interested? I think this could be one of the coolest bosses ever made for Fraxy, but like I said, I need help. Everyone who helps will, of course, get credit.

Ah well, I've already made Juggler Core, Heavens Gate and Laser Tetran have been made by Rubicon. The problem is, Heavy Ducker is a side view, not a top view. Also, its cannon shots are impossible to recreate. I would give you the alternative of Shining Core.
The cannon shots should be a set of 2 vulcan multis, 1 slower than the other.

I just saw a video of it, and it definitely seems doable. How would you suggest I go about making Shining Core's blade arms, his tiny bombs and rainbow lasers?

I'm not dead! I finally got the fortress "level", Tetran Base, to work! However, it can cause a LOT of lag, so you've been warned.

Tetran Base
Series: Original
Signature Weapon: ?
HP: ?
Idea Behind Creation: Early on in the adventure, after infiltrating a large fortress and blasting you way past the Empire's forces, you finally make it to the inner-most section. This is a series of trials that you must survive to complete your mission: destroy the Empire's prototype Type-1 Enforcement Transforming Repair and Assault Nullifier vessel. It is equipped with blades that can slice through armor, the standard energy guns, some thick armor of its own, and four tentacles. Each tentacle is tipped with a vulcan, and the tentacles are supposedly indestructable. Its' core seems to repair itself at a rapid pace, something we have not been able to replicate yet. We don't know what is guarding the way to the prototype, so you're on your own.

Good luck!

I live! I've been busy and stuff. Finals in college, my sister's getting married... Pretty big stuff. I finished a few bosses, and got my Massive War Manta to work properly (he doesn't turn COMPLETELY invisible, but it's close enough).

Also, just in case anyone was wondering, I do not like bullet hell bosses. At all. I got tired of everyone thinking you need bullet hell to make something difficult, so that grew into despisement of bullet hell-styled bosses. This is why I try my best not to make anything with bullet hell, unless I honestly believe that it would help.

EDIT: NEW AND IMPROVED DAEDALUS FURTHER ON IN THE TOPIC!

SOLAR SERPENTARIUS
Series: Semi-Original (idea came from the Solar Flare Dragons in the Gradius series)
Signature Weapon: None
HP: 12,500
Idea Behind Creation: Early on in the adventure mode, you are forced to fly through a sector of space that is littered with small suns, stars and basically just giant balls of fire. Several times throughout this sector, you have to face members of a specie of fire dragon known as Solar Serpentarius. These creatures are quite territorial, but tend to keep their distance from foes and bombard them with incredibly powerful fireballs and a strong heat ray from their mouth. Though their fireballs are deadly, they do not have much in the way of offense, and as such are not too large a threat.

SOLAR TWIN SERPENTARIUS
Series: Semi-Original (idea came from the Solar Flare Dragon boss in Gradius III)
Signature Weapon: None
HP: ?
Idea Behind Creation: Early on in the adventure mode, you are forced to fly through a sector of space that is littered with small suns, stars and basically just giant balls of fire. Several times throughout this sector, you have to face members of a specie of fire dragon known as Solar Serpentarius. At the end of the sector, two Solar Serpentarius notice you, and proceed to engage you in combat. They are not as cautious as the others, and will actively pursue you. As such, they are more difficult. Also, there's two of them. Not fair.

I'm still not dead. Huzzah!

Anyway, the final boss? Well, so far it's basically done. As an added bonus, I even gave it its own background to add to the psychological horror (or something like that).

I hope to hear what you people think of these, especially the final boss. He took a LOT of work to function properly, and I think it shows.

HYDRA CORE
Series: Original
Signature Weapon: None
HP: Unknown
Idea Behind Creation: Incoming transmission. Source: Planet Gradius. "Thank goodness we've finally managed to reach you! Our top scientists were right - the Bacterian Empire is back. The Mirage Dragon was their ultimate weapon; however, they didn't count on you interfering. Now that we've taken out their weapon, however, they will be expecting you. Nevertheless, you must infiltrate the Bacterian Empire's base, fight your way through, and put an end to this once and for all. Once you go in, we will not be able to help you. This is your final mission... good luck."

Why did you name the darkness bg some weird symbols?

About the "Final Boss" enemy, I dislike how it has an unavoidable instant-death laser that fires every so often, that shouldn't happen.
