Okay. I was working on this, and then my computer broke, got it back, blah. I'm currently working on the end of World 2, but it's kinda hard the way my computer is acting (see General chat thread). Anyways, here are some screens.

The welcoming screen.

The blue Koopa's description.

The same level, just filled with water.

That pale looking mushroom replaces the Goomba.

A random Yoshi Garden screen.

The nipper covered pipe leads to...

...the nipper infested undergarden.

The Yoshi Secret. A lot of going back and forth.
Also, the red Koopa's description.

Garden star. The original title was "BOOM!".

The introduction to Star blocks. (Foreground and Normalizer)

Those are all in World 1, I'll put up some new screenshots after I revise World 2. That'll also be when i release Demo A. So, constructive criticism, comments, suggestions, anything?

Those look excellent! I'm aware the Mario/enhanced original graphics are premade (I forget who made them - was it Googie? Bad memory ftw!), but the personal touched you've made to the other levels look excellent! I'm quite fond of the level design and color scheme as well, nice job.

It was Icegoom that did the graphics. (Go bad memory!)

Those screens look very good. I've never seen that Yoshi's Island background used in a SMW hack before. It also looks like you got the coloring of the BG down real well too. Question: What does the Normalizer block do?

Actually, he found his way here just a few minutes ago (Woah, coincidence).

I'm glad that they look good to you guys so far, especially since I had to work on the backgrounds about 3 times due to me accidently overwriting them when I inserted my other levels from my other hack into it.

FirePhoenix: The normalizer brings the player back from the background. The dark blue puts them behind the foreground, making him invulnerable to sprites, which makes it challenging, since you need to get the key. Normalizer... normalizes it.

Tweaker: Yeah, I knew I was going to have to do better, since I used someone elses graphics. Alastor even commented (a while back) the fact that I livened up the scenery.

Here now. I really ought to update SMWRedrawn so that people don't have to use the old cave and castle foregrounds anymore. Here are a couple of .bin files if you're interested.

Cave graphics
Castle graphics (brick floor still unchanged)

This hack looks decent. The Yoshi's Island background is well-used, and it always warms my heart to see Birdos. Mushrooms replacing goombas might get confusing, though...

I have to say, I really like the castle graphics, but I'll have to re-arrange somethings so they'll fit in with the rest. But as for the cave graphics, they don't really fit in to the current caves I have. Thanks though

All right, glad you could use something.

Have you ever released a demo of this before? I remember those red and blue Koopa descriptions, but I could have just read them from screenshots.

I'm not sure if I did, but I remember for sure I made an old thread about this. I know that I stopped for a while, since the computer stopped working, but now it works again. After I finish World 2, I'll need about three people to go over and look for bugs, parts that could be improved, etc. (BTW, I need them now, as I'm about to finish the Castle.)

The regular SMW backgrounds look bland with the graphics. Otherwise the rest is looking good.

I never liked those empty blocks on the top of the vines... It got in the way. But it was only minor, so nothing that bad.

It seems like it's possible to jump onto Yoshi during the time gap between the start of the intro level and the message showing up. I know for sure that you can grab those two coins.

I remember that the status bar had a few palette flukes in it, but it was only with the red color in the palette, so it was nothing major. Oh, and maybe you can try tweaking up the status bar... Giving it a small shine, like the 1-up graphic in Yoshi's Island.

Looks good so far.

Looks great! The text font is a bit odd to read though.

I'm glad people so far like how it looks. I have some new screens:

Pokey is replaced with those mushroom things, as you can see.

You have to rush if you want the secret, but not if you want the normal exit.
(Still need t ofix the status bar )

This part of the forest has been set ablaze (animated background palette.)

This level is ripped directly out of my old hack. I liked the concept.

The first area in the Confuzzle Fortress.

A random cloud area with auto-scroll.

This area has 3 different ways to go. Backwards is just... A EMPTY HOLE. YEAH.

And Confuzzle forest sucks. For you. It is half a world, technically. Ending in a fortress. It splits into the A half of that half world, too. As well as a B half. Confuzzled yet? Haha.

Is there a reason behind the mushrooms?

There isn't really a reason, but I can make one up now:

Real life: I wanted a new enemy besides Pokey, but didn't like the result. So I made this.

Storywise: Pokey betrayed Bowser, so he used the Mushroom Squad to act like one.

It would be cool to see another enemy as pokey.

Make it like they are balancing on top of eachother. That would be cool. Try the beetles in this screen.

I could, but it would look weird since they wouldn't have an animation. It has to be something symmetrical, because I don't think that Pokey even has a turned animation. Just moves =/

You could draw new sprites so the beetles are facing the screen. Hehe, just an idea.
