Wow, you almost have as little actual notes on that page as I usually do. Although I can't remember the last time I took a class with math that easy. Are there any other big math nerds around here?

That sounds about as annoying as my internet. I have wireless and it likes to cut out at 99% of a download or right when I'm doing something important. Or it will be on and fine all day when I'm gone and die as soon as I try to do something.

Posted on 09-23-06 01:17 AM, in How do I change the game speed? Link
It would help to know what system you are hacking for and which Pokemon game specifically. Without knowing anymore all I could offer is just adding a loop to the main graphics function and try changing the amount of times that loop is run to adjust the speed of the game. Make sure you put it somewhere that gets run exactly once per frame.

Yeah, that data could be formatted better, but nice stuff. Perhaps a ROM map for SMB is in order like we have for SMW?

Hmm, I think I see where you're going with this. Is the ground slippery in that level? And the walls being transparent threw me off at first. For a minute I thought the blocks, ladder and pipes were all that was there.

Depending on what you listen to, you could go to music.yahoo.com. You can play music there for free using the video section. It's not a permanent solution, but it could give you your music fix until you figure something out.

Interesting... I'm 22 and male and I've never been in a relationship or looked at porn. I thought that was reasonably normal...

Once I wasn't paying enough attention and instead of backing up the data on my drive I restored the last backup. It had been a while since I had last backed up. That was less then fun.

While terrorism might be no more likely to kill you than slipping in the bathroom, it has a much greater impact. Destroying the WTC may not have killed as many people as sharks and bears and accidents, it had a large impact on NYC and on the economy.

Posted on 09-23-06 04:49 PM, in The King's Hats Link
The King called the three wisest men in the country to his court to decide who would become his new advisor. He placed a hat on each of their heads, such that each wise man could see all of the other hats, but none of them could see their own. Each hat was either white or blue. The king gave his word to the wise men that at least one of them was wearing a blue hat - in other words, there could be zero, one, or two white hats, but not three. The king also announced that the contest would be fair to all three men. The wise men were also forbidden to speak to each other. The king declared that whichever man stood up first and announced the colour of his own hat would become his new advisor. The wise men sat for a very long time before one stood up and correctly announced the answer. How did he figure it out and what were the colors of the three hats?

Well, this probably isn't the problem you're having since you have DLink not Linksys, but when I was setting up my Apache server on XP Pro here my router kept reassigning the IP for the port forwarding. I'd check and make sure that the router keeps all the correct settings after you set everything.

Does anyone know how the graphics for the tiles and characters are stored in Shining Force? Only parts of the GUI seem to be stored in the 4BPP Genesis format. Evertything else seems to not be viewable with any standard format.

Right, I was just hoping someone knew the compression methods they may have used. I'm working on it myself, but no need to reinvent the wheel is someone here knows.

EDIT: Ok, it uses Huffman coding to compress the data. One small step in the right direction.

They seem to be... Swedish. We need a game music cover band in the US. One that tours and um, plays music.

Ramon is very close. It is possible to determine the color of all 3 hats from the information given. And the sat for a very long time isn't especially important.
