Are these the backgrounds you are looking for?

Edit: and for the mountain BG you are talking about, is it one of these:

Lakeside limbo BG

Snow barrel blast BG

They are both in that link I posted

I'm not exactly sure about this solution, but I think there is a level property option: "horizontal translucent layer 2 level" (one that makes layer 2 see-through a little bit) in the change properties in header window that you can use to make the black translucent, unless you are using a vertical level, that is.

Oh, it's fixed now, all downloads were broken, there was a problem with the code. You would have noticed if you had opened it with a text editor.

This actually looks like one of the few hacks I'll actually download!

and BTW, you almost stole my next hack name, "super mario, the lost world"

I might contribute, but I am not very good at level design and I could be busy. Also, like peter_ac said, you would have to let me use whatever GFX I want.

Well, the original animations, when removed, could be used for additional tilespace/objects. Could come in handy when making complex backgrounds... (especially like some of smwedit's...)

Yes, I really need the space so I can put large backgrounds. I know FuSoYa changed one in DW1 to a brick, but I don't know how he did it. I tried using a hex editor's "find difference between files" function with Demo world 1 and a regular SMW rom, but there were over ten thousand differences as I remember, so that wasn't very helpful. What I am thinking is that if I can find the subroutine for updating the Vram with the animations, I can "EA it all out" with a hex editor

Personally, I don't like SMB3 music in SMW, but here's how to transfer the overworld:

1. open rom with overworld you want to transfer (in LM)
2. open overworld editor and keep open
3. go back to the level editor window
4. open rom you want to transfer overworld to (in same LM window)
5. go back to overworld editor window
6. you will notice it is the same from the other rom
7. click the save button
8. if not already done, transfer shared palettes
9. if not already done. transfer GFX and ExGFX

I know how that could be sort-of done:
1. set the event that generates the earthquake to the one that the fist appears
2. set the events to generate a lot of ground tiles continuously that don't make a difference
3. make the big fist suddenly appear (but I don't know how to make the boom sound)

I like the unique colors used for the overworld. I do, however, notice some irregularities. Do it like this, not like this.

Oh, and on side note, I remember this hack from the first Ice Board, and I remember saying your hack title fits with this BG

Posted on 08-06-06 05:29 PM, in Sprite Tool, public test release Link
I would like a sprite like the goonies in Yoshi's island that fly slowly in the background (up-left direction) and scroll about half the speed of the FG (I would like them as seagulls with the DKC2 Pirate Panic BG)

I would like one of those YI pirhana plants that are small and inactive until you get close. It doesn't have to rotate if it isn't possible, just flip. This is what I mean

I would also like a monkey from yoshi's island that would jump around and climb a certain custom block (which would be included) for a second after it touches it, then look side to side. When mario comes near, it jumps down and starts jumping around again.

I'd like a "ptooie" as seen in SMB3 6-1

How about a "Buster beetle" that picks up throw blocks and throws them

I think the overworld is really good.
I like the title screen, I don't think I have ever seen another title screen like it.
I don't see many hacks like this any more.

Btw, I like the BGs in these screens:

where did they come from?

And on side note, I never liked this BG

This is one of the coolest online scripts I've seen.

You should make it put them in a zip file instead of making us download all of them individually. You should also make this work for ExGFX too.

try looking here for it while I fix my downloading script.

Edit: the Kirby ones are the ones that start with "kdll" (it would be like kdll*.zip)

Edit 2: downloading might work now. I changed the downloading script.
