I'm not sure about the door thing. But for the tent man, I think you need to use the same sprite GFX, and PAL # they use in the original rom where he appears. If that doesn't work, I'm sure there's another way, Good Luck!

Good riddance to UMD movies! They mostly only have the theatrical versions of films, they can't hold as much as a dvd, so they often exclude the special features, plus they only play on psp!!! If they at least sold umd players, or official psp 2 tv devices, or other devices that used umd, they might take off. If they sold blank umd's & umd burners, the market might just explode! ...Maybe not. I mostly use mine for portable emulation, GAT: LCS with cool cheatsync codes, also some of the games are cool too (PQ, Lumines, & a few others). Just waiting for the GPS device so I can use it for Geocashing, maybe they'll use it for some oddball homebrew games (GPS pong! ???)

Hi, I got a used Game Doctor SF7 on Ebay, but there were no instructions. I just want to know how to boot an SNES ROM from the floppy disk. I found a scanned instruction manual on a website, but it's not very readable, but I read something about the filename needing to end in "A", or something else. Can anyone help?

Thanks a lot for the info! I'll probably tinker with it within the next few days, and I'll also look into loading games larger than 1MB (I know what to look for now), but if I don't have any luck, I'll be sure to message you! Playing ROMs directly from computer sounds cool too, but that'll have to wait. Thanks again!

I'm sure this will never happen, and I certainly wouldn't be the one to do it, but it's a cool idea, and probably could have been done. I was playing pilot wings 64 the other day, and thought how great it would be if the makers had added a course editor which would allow you to place tarkets, rings, robots, and even the giant green ball & goal wherever you liked. That would probably have increased the replay value of that game 100% Oh well, maybe they'll think of this for future games.

Okay, I have a new question now! I've opened a ROM (Illusion of Gaia) in YY-CHR, and many other tile/sprite editing programs and here's the thing, I only see at most 1/8 of the graphics that should be there (same with other games). There are some recognizeable tiles & items, and 1 or 2 sprite sets, and the rest looks like fuzz. Is there something I'm not doing that may allow me to view the rest of the GFX, or is there some kind of GFX corruption Nintendo uses to make it unable to view or extract? Any help would be great.

Okay seems simple enough, I'm just bad with DOS, and don't know much about hex yet. What would I type as the offset to start with and a high offset to end with (if I want to scan the whole ROM)? I don't know what "flags" are, also I don't know what fromat to use, what's the difference, and how can I view & edit them once decompressed?

Ok, so I got Ucon64, when I start it up, A window opens, and scrolls down a list real fast, then closes. I assume I probably have to use "command Prompt"? Even then, I think I'd still be lost. In the readme regarding the SF3, it says this:
Game Doctor SF3(SF6/SF7)/Professor SF(SF II) --xgd3 send ROM to Game Doctor SF3/SF6/SF7; --port=PORT this option uses the Game Doctor SF3 protocol --xgd6 send ROM to Game Doctor SF6/SF7; --port=PORT this option uses the Game Doctor SF6 protocol --xgd3s send SRAM to Game Doctor SF3/SF6/SF7; --port=PORT --xgd6s send/receive SRAM to/from Game Doctor SF6/SF7; --port=PORT receives automatically when SRAM does not exist --xgd6r send/receive saver (RTS) data to/from Game Doctor SF6/SF7; --port=PORT receives automatically when saver file does not exist Does this mean I have to connect the SF7 Doc to my comp, or do I type one of these commands into the Ucon64 program along with the ROM, or when I start up the program with command prompt? Sorry, but I get so confused with all this DOS stuff, soon it will all click! If you want to give me an example of what I should type in, we can assume I have the program titled Ucon64.exe in a folder titled Ucon64 directly on my C: drive, and my roms (lets say mario.smc) in a folder titled roms on my C: drive. Please help if you can, Thanks! |

You probably got it covered, but if you'd like another hard drive to install the recovery program on, I have a spare I could send you. Best of luck!!

Hey, I know there are hundreds out there, but does anyone know of a website that has a really good, thorough DOS tutorial? I just feel like a retard when I can't enter line commands that I'm sure are real simple, and self-explanatory. There are many, many good programs & tools out there for hacking, etc. and I plan on devoting a lot more time to it, but I must get past this first. Maybe DOS for Dummies would be appropriate!

Hi, I came across a website a while back that had images of the whole Zelda 3 overword map light & dark, and every dungeon & indoor area. Also, every door is numbered so you know which one goes where. This would be a real helpful resource, anyone know what site I'm talking about?

The one I'm thinking of is more detailed. It has every single door in the overwold numbered or marked to match a map of every indoor area.

Yeah, I can view all the maps in HM, but I often forget which rooms some doors lead to. If I can find a map like the one I saw I could also add the entrane or room # from HM to it so you could know where everything is better, but the maps that goldensunboy, and Orochimaru brought to my attention may work. If I make something of it I'll be sure to make it available here so others can use it too.

Woah! The link asdf provided is the one I was thinking about, thanks! In a day or two I'll start labeling it with the entrance & room numbers from HM and post a download in case anyone else can find it usefull.

Here are the Light & Dark world maps I labelled with the HM entrance & hole numbers. I find it to be a good reference map for dungeon editing, maybe others will too. Let me know if I missed anything, or if the link goes down, and feel free to do what you want with it. Here ya go:
