Does anybody know how to fix the "classic pirahna plant"? I know that there's a patch at smw central but how would you exactly fix the enemy so it won't have a fish stem? I know this question sounds noobish but I would really like to know.

Take the stem GFX from GFX05.bin, paste them over the fish under the piranha plant's head in GFX01, and save it as an ExGFX file.

Or, use BMF's Pirahna Plant fix patch.

Yeah, it's nice, but it doesn't work. I put it on my hack once, and it did absolutely nothing. Maybe it only works on a clean ROM?

For instance, you put the fish's graphics on top of the Coin Game smiley coin. Change $9E00 to C2 and then change $11F4B to E8 to make the smiley coin use a regular coin's graphics. |

I'll try the remapping suggestion, though. Edit: Okay, I tried it, but after applying the patch to fix the palette of the Vine, it's not the right color. It has the right graphics, but it's Red instead of Green, meaning the patch didn't change the palette of the vine. How do I go about doing this in a hex editor? It worked but didn't change the palette of the stem? That's weird. A lot of people take advantage of the fact that the green berry's palette is on the same row as the red palette and just use that to draw a green stem.

Originally posted by icegoom Actually, I found that it uses one of the last few palettes. To be specific, the palette that the Red Koopas use. In other words, it's obviously gone up one palette than it should- The correct palette is right below it... |

Did you test the hack in an emulator after applying the patch, or did you just look in Lunar Magic? (The tiles and palette will NOT change in LM, but it SHOULD change in the game.)

Originally posted by Smallhacker XD I always forget that things rarely ever look the same between LM and the actual playing of the hack in an emulator. Thanks for reminding me! |
