Err... it's me... again...

This time, I was wondering if there's a GBA ROM Expander. Supposedly it's the easiest to expand, yet I couldn't fine one for it. I tried google, but it spat out SNES editors, which I'm safely assuming ISN'T for GBA... ;;

So help would be appreciated once more. Thank you very, very much!!!

GBA is the easiest to expand because you just tack on bytes to the end of the ROM, pretty much I'm not sure if its like the GBC and you need to change the header to tell it the new size, but, that's more or less how its done.

The SNES is just as easy, so long as you don't exceed the maximum size for the ROM's memory map. =P

Yoro's right. Just tack on the spillage and it'll work. Pointers can be in the 09000000-09FFFFFF range

Alright, ima highjack this thread; there's this GBA game I'm messing with, but some graphics are compressed. How hard is it to relocate the data to this new area, so I don't have to worry about room? Is it as easy as updating the pointers to look there? Or am I thinking too simple?

That's all it should take, provided your pointers reach the new area.

That's exactly all it is. You should be all set.

I'll hijack the thread back XD. Err... I was wondering, the problem with supports have been solved. Now just some minor thing still stands between us and the paired endings. One of the heackers noted that there were 32-or-something-like-that 'paired endings'. Can that number be expanded? Or would the hackers have to overwrite something important in order to do so? I've loosely heard somewhere that support text is stored in a different bank (I'm probably wrong, so please, do correct me on this)...

Uh... what? You never mentioned anything about supports or paired endings or anything. You didn't even tell us what you were working on. You just asked about expansion.

Care to be a bit more specific?

Oh! I'm sorry - I completely forgot... ;;

Well, we were working on a big Fire Emblem Hack (I made a thread about this a month or sometim ago. I wasn't sure the rules for necroposting, and decided not to risk it). The custom supports issue has been solved. However, there is only 32 paired endings that exist in the ROM. So err, the question would be if more could be added without erasing important data.

Thank you, Super Conker, for ruining an old thread. You remind me of the bastard who killed my board so long ago. For that, I wish you unpleasant dreams.
