Yeah, you heard that right, believe it or not.

Title screen

Overworld screens

Level screens

A full hack, with 10 worlds, 66 levels, and 87 exits. Has a lot of custom graphics, though isn't exactly full of them. Not the best hack ever, by any margin, but I spent a very long time working on it, so I hope you enjoy it. Among its more original features are a new bonus game and several new or tweaked boss fights, with a new final boss, as well. Even if you didn't all of that much like the hack in previous demos, or were one of the people I sent the beta ROM too, I encourage you to get this. I've changed quite a few things around in several levels, and improved level design on the whole.

Rather than stall you any longer, I'll just give you this link.

IF YOU HAVE PLAYED ONE OF THE EARLIER DEMOS, YOU CANNOT USE YOUR OLD SAVE FILE.

The overworld will be screwed up in places if you do. After a point, continuing forward will be quite impossible.

It didn't like my comma, and insisted on using its html representation.

It's the same file. Mario39;s_Return.zip has Mario's_Return.ips in it.

Looking forward to the boss fights. Those were really creative. There should be more creative bosses in other hacks... The demo was good, so I assume that this should be better. Hopefully...

The comma? Wha? I even tried renaming it .ips and it said it wasn't an ips file.

Possibly because it's a .zip file, not a .ips file.

If the name of it is getting corrupted, I suggest you get a better browser?

Hah, I'll try and get SMW central to fix it as soon as I can, I guess.

Heh. You still didn't figure out what's up with the path glitching. Just happened on Teacup Isle 2 1.

(I love the thrill of going through castles with 1 life left, knowing that one false move will end it all.)

So far, I've played through to Mysterious Castle 2 (which I just barely won, with one life left), and I like what I see so far. Although the title screen demo scares me a little...

Great to see this is done. I've played all of the demos, and I must say, this has been worth the wait.

I just finished the 4th world. Still not sure whether the ship has a secret exit or not but I'll come back later if I don't hit them all.

I did have that path glitch thing happen to me twice, once on teacup island and once after completing the 3rd castle (saved at the nearest chance and reset each time). So far the game's great, I really like the puzzles involved in getting the secret exits.

One quick question - how did you put 3 doors so close to one another and have them all take you to different areas? Mysterious castle 3's intro room is, as far as my LM experience goes, impossible due to the way exits are handled. Then again, I'm someone who hasn't even gotten the hang of ExGFX yet so maybe I'm just missing something simple.

Phew done... King Boo is defeated!
Really nice Boss fight, I enjoyed it.
The levels himself were amazing, great and creative ideas. But for my liking to much shell shooting koopas.

Anyway I'm not really finished yet. I found no Switch Palace during the Game and theres also the Star Road.

If the level type was not mentioned in the secret exit message, it won't have a secret exit. So yeah, Ghost Ship Island doesn't have one. As for your other question, this pic may explain a few things.

Just beat the game with all the exits cleared.

I remember a few things wrong in blaze caverns though...

1. The pipe near the begining of Blaze caverns can't be entered. This questions why the red switch blocks lead there.

2. In the secret level "The core" the message box states that the lava to the right is safe with a starman, however, its the lava on THE LEFT that's safe.

That was a fun game

The red blocks don't lead THERE, they lead back left in general. The pipe is just there to have a piranha coming out of it.

... Wow.

That's a pretty glaring error. I should fix that.

I see you borrowed my idea of scrolling the screen to see if there is anything on the other side in the demo level when you start up the game.

Remember? I made a hack a year or so ago, where it seemed like a deadend with all the munchers, but if you scroll to the right you'll find a Parakoopa. That level was named Muncher Valley.

It's okay if you don't remember, I remember your commenting that you could use that idea in your hacks sometime. =P

Anyway.

Glad to see the hack is now finally finished. I'm off to play it!
