It shouldn't be to hard to change polygon colors with some ASM hacking, it've been done already with mario and chain chomp...I think.

Anyways, I'm going on a vacation now, for about three weeks. See ya!!

Yeh, Chain Chomp's Data is under its datachunk.
In Tile Molester it's like this:

CCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCC
¨'-´¨_`¨_`-`_´-¨´
¨'-´¨_`¨_`-`_´-¨´
¨'-´¨_`¨_`-`_´-¨´
¨'-´¨_`¨_`-`_´-¨'

Legend:
C = Chain Chomp Graphics
Garbage = Data

If you edit the data below it, you can easily delete/edit stuff. That's how I removed the teeth. I just too down an 8x8 tile of Data from the left corner.
You can also go to the offset in HEX editor and look for Color Offsets.

So Racoon Sam, your saying that we can edit, for example, the face of the goomba to look different(like make it smile or frown on the flat surface of it's face), but cant change the shape of it(because that would be editing the polygon), right?

You can edit the textures used on an object but not what the objects are made up of (polygons).

Corret, ajstal. Picture a pyramid shape with a square base. For our purposes right now, you can paint the pyramid whatever you want it to look like, but you can't change the shape of it at all -- no matter how you paint it, it's still going to be a pyramid.

If you use rices plugin and dump the textures in BBF there is a goomba face. just alter it and put it in the hi texture file... read back in this thread on how to do it. and there also is a texture pack thread that has some good instructions. this does not permanently alter the game but in a way patches it.

I hope I'm not being too lazy, but can someone post a link to rice's pluggin, and the tile molester and text wrangler? It takes me too long to find them throughout all the pages, there are too many, lol.

Or can some1 just say what pages they are on? Thanks.

O, is that a link to them? If so, thanks Sam.

I just thought of something. When he comes out with his editor, will there be a guide with it, or would that be too tedious? He problly wont want to create a guide explaining how to use the whole editor. Mabe he will, though. Did he already say he was or not? He might just want us to check info throughout this thread, but that would be too confusing for me

I'm no computer genious, you know.

I'm making a Super Mario 64 Graphics editing FAQ as we speak.
If only Sonicandtails would sign on, I'd get my narration part 1..

What do you mean by fishy? Are you questioning it as a means of hacking N64?
I really don't like it much. I think that Tile Molester is much better. rice's plugin dosen't work that well with my graphics card anyway.

I like Rice's Plugin. It has tons of options, a very high compatibility, and of course high quality. If you have a decent enough graphics card (nVidia GeForce FX 5200/ATI Radeon 9200 or higher), go ahead and install this plugin.

Of course, if you don't have a decent enough graphics card, you shouldn't bother with it.

Toad's Tool 64 can ONLY move objects, swap music, change warps, and the other stuff I said last time. You can easily edit the textures using the ROM extender (or an MIO0 de/compressor) and Tile Molester, and you could edit the polygons with a hex editor (have fun ), but these things don't involve TT64. Anything can be edited, just not necessarily with TT64.

Okay. Now, how can I make it so my picture will fit in the painting? It's waaaay too big when I paste it in there. How can I export the painting, put the image in, and import the painting back exactly where it was, with my picture in it?
