I am well aware that changing Google's practices would be much more simpler than changing chose those of China's. It's just that in my opinion Google is not that much at fault. As for the unethical behavior part, Google complied with China's law, period. Those laws (or regulations, or whatever other administrative term this is, I forgot) as unjusts and unethicals as they are must be followed (there are limits, I admit. Don't want to look like a law fascist here). By simply following laws of another country, I don't see how Google was unethical (then we probably don't have the same exact definition of ethics, so agreeing may be problematic) Of course, the best thing would still have been Google's un-cooperation with the PRC's severe limitations and just making the damn thing available at all.

If this sounded harsh or if I did offend anyone by what I just wrote, it was not in my intention at all. I'm just posting an opinion. Don't hate me.

Isn't asexuality supposed to be the lack of both sexual and romantic attraction to both sexes? I'm pretty sure it's that (according to wikipedia, wich is known to be faulty sometimes).

Without agreeing with Kutske, I can see what he is trying to say. Since this is not about sex or romance he's talking more of a human social behavior(does that term even exist? Probably not) than a human sexual behavior(or whatever the real term is). I don't know what it could be called though, or even if it has to have a name.

But then I may be completely off. Oh well, I gave my small thought.

How did you come to accept your current faith?
After countless readings, discussions and self-questioning, I decided to completely eliminate religion and spirituality out of my life and never care about it from there, seeing it as more problematic for myself than helpful. So, agnosticism here.

What aspects of it appeal to you?
I'm more comfortable that way, that's all.

With what aspects do you disagree?
None.

What aspects of other faiths do you find deficient?
Seeing how a lot of people led awesome lives and got so happy thanks to religion, there's not much I can bitch them about except a few things: Extremism, religions trying to influence politics, religious intolerance toward minorities (racial, spiritual or whatever) and some more stuff, but the most important is there.

What is the primary purpose of religion in your life?
There's no religion or spirituality in my personal life since I don't care about the stuff. Otherwise it makes interesting readings and good source material for creative writing.

I don't think I need to answer mattp's question

I saw it once at a friend's house a few months ago but beside the visuals and the occasional humorous bit there's not much to convince me of purchasing it, extras or no extras.

Posted on 04-24-06 10:11 PM, in Anyone seen the Silent Hill movie yet? Link
I haven't seen it yet, but I don't know if I should bother and spend money to see that. I absolutely loved the games, but I don't like the idea of an amalgam of 3 of them being in the same movie, it doesn't seem right to me. And something bugging me is the fact that Rose replaces Harry as a main character ; I'm pretty sure it's to continue the "trend" of main characters being women in horror movies (Ring, The Grudge, Dark Waters, to name the more recent ones). Since the movie seems mostly based on the first game it would have been the least of things to at least have Harry as the Hero. But then, since the movie is out now my rant barely has weight.

But then I never really liked movies made out of video games.

Maybe I'll rent the thing once it becomes cheap to do so.

Morality and ethics are not the same for everyone. Moral and immoral are concepts you define yourself while growing up and living through experiences. There is nothing in your mind other than your conceptions about morality that defines what you think is moral or not.

My thoughts.

Death penalty is wrong, plain and simple. Whenever we say that sickos should be killed because what they did was horrible as hell, it's an emotive thing. Sickos should get cured and/or dumped in damp, dark cellroom (in case curing just fails) ,plain murderers should get locked up in an isolation room and juvies should go to a correction center. These kind of criminals should get real correctional treatments instead of just an almost instant death that makes them suffer for a maximum of 2 minutes. Also there's nothing you can do when you mistakenly execute an innocent person, you can't decide to bring them back to life afetr 12 years of them being dead.

That felt like an incoherently structured post, but my point is said.

I kinda agree, it's just that I feel ethics are part of morality seeing thay also dictate what is good and bad too. I didn't mean to make this confusing. It still remains my personal view on this.

I had one ethics class as well as two philosophy class, except my ethics teacher wasn't really being competent. So I learned a bunch of stuff about philosophers in my two other classes and in my ethics classed well... I learned that Nietzsche and Ayn Rand were evil, period. So I went by the best of my knowledge in this topic.

Beside, none of the philosophy teachers are teaching exactly the same way those classes in my college.

The only way of preventing 9/11 is to live in an alternate reality, which isn't possible. And Skydude said it, too much variables. If only one of them had changed your theory would be even more wrong.

And maybe you got documents and/or proof that this "Nevele Enin Karudos" is the real mastermind? Mister Ben Laden is pretty much known as the real mastermind.

Then, being out of the norm is not necessarily pejorative per se, depending on the point of view of course. So I don't think Silver meant that as derogatory. (My two cents, don't hurt me please)

I'm pretty sure this would require an almost complete rewrite of the game's code in ASM. Not that the idea is bad, it's pretty good, but it would probably take too much time and/or efforts to pull off efficiently. Not that I want to discourage or anything.

But then I could be wrong.

Then you're just forcing things your way by making every answer 11, which in itself doesn't prove anything substantial.

I, for my part, am pretty interested by MIM sequel. As for where to start, your best bet is starting by scribbling/doodling down some level layouts and writing notes of all the different stuff you think of adding to the game( if you meant what direction to start with for technical stuff then I'm afraid I can't really help you though).
