Spoon - Shouldn't this be Sqoon?
Macross - I've seen this one on pirate carts and played it... No. Trust me. No way.
Magic Jewelry - Columns clone I believe.
WWF - Has to be M.U.S.C.L.E.

Has anyone dumped this rom yet?

Dig Dug - I had an old TI once (not sure what it was exactly besides a keyboard and a slot to shove carts in) but our version of digdug seemed bigger and our version of donkey kong had that cement/pie factory level.
Bird WEAK - absurd game where moma bird feeds baby birds. there is a badminton game on the thing though!
Bomb Jack - you floating around a la balloon fight. it's kinda sucky though.
Spoon - yup, Sqoon
Magic Jewelry - Dr. mario clone, but level six plays greensleeves, so i want to find it's music file online if possible.
WWF = M.U.S.C.L.E.

well your the lucky one, ours was a dust magnet and required every trick in the book to get it to stop blinking. During it's dying days of the Playstaion reign, I started to open the little guy open and clean it from the inside from time to time. But that only delayed the inevitable. besides, it was a time before retro gaming, so it was no big loss. i still had my gameboy to boot!

I just tested that game.

The music drives me insane. But it's quite advances comparing to other NES games from that time. But god... it's have very bad hit detection.

You've got a point. the concept is very unique for that time. especially since amost everything else on that joy stick is a space shooter game. and I like the side scrolling-infinite looping that makes it feel like your flying in a big circle

for the nintendo company, sure. but that TI-whatever-it-was-thing we owned did in fact contain that 4th level. does that mean to say that the nes was weaker than it? I'd say no, just because of the pure haterd i had for its obnoxious joy stick that was too big for my five year old hands. but then again, i guess it could have been as you could program simple games and a "dancing" sprite on it. again, i was five years old so the stuff was over my head.

i say make a new adventure. Mario, Luigi, Princess, Toad, and Yoshi all working together. Certain bosses can only be defeated in a certain way, multiple paths, bonus areas, and power suits are all welcomed.

Some levels could be homages to their past (i.e., Kirby's Adventure's final level in Dreamland mode).

and of course, some levels would be so much fun and cool looking that you just want to hang out in them all day. that statement is more opinion than anything. I LOVE SMB3!

for me it is a toss up between SMB3/SMW1/SMW2. each one graphically topping the other. but visuals are not the topic. Gameplay is. SOOoooo, my final choice is Yoshi's Island. NO wait, SMB3.

what do you think?

I guess Surlent is right about this poll being like a "Favorite mario" poll. I was originaly going to ask which mario game had the funnest swmming levels. But that sounds weird so I figure I should poll over the best gameplay mechanics overall.

For pure running and jumping sake I really like SMB1 (i didn't include SMB2j because i forgot). it's pure and simple. But for high speeds and flying I got to go with SMB3. It feels faster than SMW. But again, SMW has a better flying system. apples. oranges. country. ROCK n' ROLL!!

I think SMB2 is fun and all, but the handling is a tad touchy for me, especially when jump from vine to vine.

And I know I would have loved Yoshi's Island ten time more than I already do if it had come out sooner. Level designwise, I do think that SMW2 is the best.

but everybody acts as if the color blue didn't exist in SMB1! There's blue all over that game, so i don't believe the excuse of a lack of color.

As a side note, Mario in SMB2 had whites for his eyes, but not in SMB3. the whites came back in SMW. weird eh?

does anybody know if there is a difference in abilities between the monkeys in Super Monkey Ball (in terms of Mario Kart's Bowser having the top speed, and Toad the best cornering type-o-thing)

As for swimming control/levels, definitively SMW; you have a better controlling of Mario underwater, and could also influence Mario's height by using up or down on the pad - not possible in SMB3.

That maybe true, but my favorite swimming comes from good ol' SMB1. the rates in which mario rises and falls as well as the speed of a forward direction are the most reliable in this game. Reliable as in I am given a greater ability to predict where mario will end up given x amount of speed and y amount button tapping.

this is true. I'm guessing the black was to accomodate for the different power suits omitting the fire suit. it might not look right if the tail was blue.

ouch! my bad, yo.
Well, the black may have something to do with the games style of having a black outline for just about everything. Maybe when mario had a blue outline to match his overalls in SMB2, critics didn't like it all too much.

Not a good theory, but still a theory.

The hackers out there may know the answer to this.

As I stated before, I own the Super Joy Stick which is essentially a game apperatice with many pirated games. One of which is Super Mario Bros.

pushing the B button at the title screen allows you to change the level you begin at. The thing here is that there are levels for every chunk of sprite in the game. most of which are different sections of the game (such as Coin heaven, level 3-4) that are changed graphically (sea bg instead of castle bg) and with seemingly random enemies appearing anywhere (on top of the screen of stuck in walls). some levels have no ground at all resulting in mario fatalities.

are these levels that are really in the games coding or a result of piracy?

Which video game houses your favorite music, or more to the point, which single track is your favorite. I'd Like to keep it in NES terms, but if you are really into another system then go for it.

I believe on whole, Capcom has had the most amount of games with great music (there are millions of MegaMan remixes to prove that). With that in mind, I'd like to state that Ducktales is my musical favorite. The African Mines and the Moon tracks are fighting for the number one slot.
