I just have one little complaint. Look at the first image you posted, the one with the story in it. "Save all the princess" is NOT correct grammar. Everything else looks great, though. One screen looks vaguely similar to another area in the game, but I'm sure it's not anywhere near that spot... and heck, it may just be my fuzzy memory. |

You're not understanding Cymoro or Kirbynite. So I'll enlarge my text a little. This is a Mario themed board. Not Final Fantasy themed. Not themed on any RPG with a class system. Thus, no classes. You get it now? |

The game was too easy. Get a Paladin with Two Swords - Excalibur2 and Nagrarok, the two strongest Knightswords in the game - and Blue Magic secondary, making sure you have Bad Breath, and he can kill anything if they don't kill him first. Give him a Sage Robe or Magic Robe, and with his naturally high Physical Defense growth, very few attacks will do reasonable damage to him. Add Reflex, and many physical attacks won't touch him. Put in Weapon Def+ for those few Physical attacks if you need, and nothing will live. Add Dragon Force to the Blue Magic if you want, or just give him Ninja Tabi or Dash Boots so he gets there faster. Really, once you do this, nothing will kill him. Or, just give him Genji Armor or another strong type of armor, since magic does have a chance to miss. As long as you add White Wind to that Blue Magic list, he's perfectly safe. Give him an Angel Ring in case of Death spells, and you will not lose. |

Has there ever been a moment in a video game that just made you say "What the hell?! That shouldn't work at all..." The only one I can think of right now was in Front Mission 3. Emma used inflatable wanzers and tanks to distract the enemies. Why doesn't that make sense? This game takes place somewhere around 2112, and sensor technology isn't good enough to know the difference between inflatable wanzers and real ones?! Apparently not, since it actually worked... Any other screwed up moments? |

In other words, that's just your rotten luck. Wiegraf was easy without excessive leveling... all you needed was a lot of Yelling... and a bit of patience. I got my speed to 50 and my attack to 25. I think I had 6 turns to one of his. Oh, and another thing: Typically in FFTA your opponents have horrible equipment compared to yours. In FFT, sometimes they had better than what you could have gotten. Which definitely adds a bit of challenge. And that's without considering FFTA's shitty AI. I was in a fight against a Black Mage that carried a Flame Rod (which strengthens Fire spells)... He cast Firaga on my Black Mage that had a Blaze Robe (absorbs Fire), and also my Warrior (trying to get a Dragoon at the time...) that had a Flame Shield (also absorbs fire). Both were near-death anyway, and all he did was barely scratch my White Robe-equipped Paladin. That is bad AI, people, really bad AI. (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 07-23-04 06:12 PM) |

Please note that Legion doesn't qualify, as he's not banned anymore. No matter how funny he is, he just isn't banned. I haven't been here to see any interesting lamers, just the dull moronic ones (see note below). These can also be from the old board. *sees people dig up old AE quotes* Note: As before, Legion doesn't count. He's not one of the dull moronic people that got banned. Just making that clear so I don't get banned for flaming. |

Wow. The only challenge I plan on trying is the single Red Mage. At least there's still some pre-Masamune offense. |

I think most collections I've seen are somewhat useless. If I were to collect something, I'd make sure it has a use first. That said, I'm going to probably start collecting swords and other bladed weaponry when I get a bit older. |

I like Roy/Marth's Forward B attack. It doesn't work as well against computers as it can against humans, though... People will see you use the same attack twice quickly and assume it's exactly the same... Then you change the last three hits entirely. That effect doesn't work on computer opponents. |

Tomes, people! With an E! Kitten Yiffer: She had a gun. The guards had swords. She could attack them before they could see her probably. See my point? |

Originally posted by DarkSlayaHaving played (okay, bought it used) Crystal Chronicles myself, I'm gonna have to add to this. WIthout a cable connected to a GBA, you don't even know what you have to do to get the extra points, and certain artifacts won't appear until you get a total of (number here) points between all players. In a multiplayer game, that's no problem because everyone's using their GBAs anyway, but playing by myself as I always do (I haven't got enough money for any of the cables I would need, unless they're $9 or less each) I can't find out what I need to do at all, so I just have to hope the criteria isn't "Don't use spells" or "Don't use focus attacks", because I'd be screwed in points if it was. A little note in the corner of the menu in single player would have been plenty sufficient. And really, multiplayer in that game could have been done with the regular controllers. Just have seperate columns/squares for each player with the buy/sell options for shops, and do the same for the in-game menus. See, it's easy. And, if they would have done that, they could have used the joysticks better to make you capable of at least two movement speeds (rather than always running; I like using the Rune Blade's Focus attack or a Blizzaga spell to get a sneak attack, but often I run too close to a monster and they see me) And they could also leave you able to use your GBA for other added features that were still there and wouldn't be as easy to put directly in the game. *If anyone was curious, my primary character is a Clavat equipped with a Rune Blade, a Mythril Haub., and a Makeshift Shield. I often find myself using Gravity, Holy, and the Blizzard group of spells because of the enemies I often run into. Interestingly, this entire post was pretty much on topic, except these last sentences. |

Best Speed Level on Endless: Normal Mode Me: 99 (Held it here for about fifteen minutes. Then got bored.) Never actually tried Hard. Highest Level you can go up against a Level 7 CPU Switch in 2 Player Vs Mode, provided the CPU is at speed level 1 Me: Level 7 Highest Combo (Puzzle Mode does NOT Count) Me: 14; I don't do combos much Highest Chain Me: Like most, x?. Actually was x21, IIRC Longest time in Endless Mode, Normal Level One hour, fifteen minutes, unknown seconds. Got bored eventually. Best Time Trial 5,000-something. I don't know exactly. I'm more of an endurance person, really. Have you noticed that the Level 7 P1 CPU seems easier than the Level 7 P2 CPU, or is that just me? It's not the screens; I'm more accustomed to left than I am to right. Sadly, my SNES stopped working, and I suck at this in ZSNES. (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 08-03-04 06:59 PM) |

Sadly, I've only played the SNES Mega Man X games - which will, with any luck and $25, change soon. And I haven't played X2 or X3 much because of having some trouble with the rom at first, then the computer screwed up... Favorite Weapon: Ice Shotgun, MMX If you're fighting a large target, you can shoot at a wall and hit the enemy twice instead of just once. Impractical perhaps, but fun. Honorable Mention: Storm Tornado, MMX A tough enemy that just won't go away? Perhaps a crowd of weaklings that you just want gone in one shot are annoying you? The Storm Tornado will fix it all in just one shot! Well, okay, perhaps that's exaggeration, but it's still a damn good weapon for going through a level. Strongest/Most Useful weapon not previously mentioned: I don't know... Spin Wheel, Sonic Slicer, and Strike Chain from X2 were weapons I used perhaps too much for various reasons. Multiple hits on one enemy (S. Wheel), hitting multiple enemies (S. Slicer charged, Wheel charged), and grabbing onto walls (S. Chain) were all very useful. Most Useless Weapon: Oof... Rolling Shield noncharged, Heat Ray (I think... it was Flame Mammoth's weapon) uncharged, and Bubble Crab's weapon all had varying levels of uselessness. It was too hard to hit things with Rolling Shield, and Heat Ray and that bubble gun all had such a short range. Strike Chain also had a short range, but at least it had a useful secondary function (ignoring one-time uses, like getting Heat Ray for the Helmet Upgrade) Enough detail, Ranko? |

Originally posted by Gb boy Interesting idea, there. Will it happen? I'd bet my mother's computer on it not happening. I'm gonna say Toad for this one. Primarily because, at least Luigi's Mansion got quite a bit of attention. I don't think as many people have played - or even heard of - Wario's Woods. |

Originally posted by KawaiiImoto-e Let's look at his roles in each, though. SMB: "Thank you, Mario, but our princess is in another castle!" x7 SMB2: Playable character, no complaints. One of my favorite, actually. SMB3: Item house, card flip, and picture lineup games. His role there could have been replaced by an empty space and no one would really notice*. Oh, and the guy yelling about the king being transformed. But that's a scene I would have skipped if I could anyway. SMRPG/Paper Mario: The question is, which toad? There were cities of 'em. Mario Kart series: Playable character, pretty good but annoying victory music (moreso than most) in SMK SM64: Advice, mainly. You could have put signs in his place. Mario Golf: i remember he did SOMEthing... in the GC version he was in the Tutorials, but I remember seeing him in the N64 one... Mario Tennis: Rather useless playable character. As I recall, anything he could do someone else could do better. His short reach didn't help the situation at all. Mario Party games: In some of them, he gave you your stars. He didn't even do THAT in MP3. Wart? In my opinion, not a Mario Character. Some elements of SMB2/DDP they kept - Shy Guys, Bob-ombs - but Wart wasn't one of them. And for this I am grateful. *With a fire flower, you could make it look almost like Mario/Luigi was punching Toad in the Item House. Not really useful, though. |

Colleen: We're not Nintendo. Therefore, while it's likely Nintendo will only use characters they're licensed to use, we don't have that limitation. That, and what NSNick said. I'll make a second one later probably, likely Geno or Mallow. Red Mage Jump Description: Like Yoshi, he only has two jumps. The first is a basic jump into the air, while his second is more of a slow teleport that covers as much distance as Yoshi's second jump. Normal A - Dagger slash, 4% A second, third, or continuous combo - Second dagger cut, stab, multistab; 3/5/1 A (while dashing) - Running Knife Stab Left or Right+ A - Staff Thwack, 10%. Whap someone in the head with a White Mage's Staff Up + A - Staff Arc, 8%. An arc overhead with a Staff. Down + A - Hook Trip, 3%. With the curve of the Staff, grab someone's leg and pull them down to the ground. While it does little damage, it ALWAYS makes an opponent fall down if it hits. Left or Right+ A (smash) - Slash, 15-20%. Draw a sword, slash with sword. Hit A again for a second strike with the sword for another 10-15% damage, like Link's forward Smash Up + A (smash) - Sidestep Strike, 18-22%. Step back from an incoming enemy, and then use a jumping vertical slash against them. Can Meteor Smash foes at an edge. Down + A (smash) - Red Blade, 12-25%. Duck down and spin, slashing at all foolish enough to approach. Covers front and back. Aerial A - Rod Hit, 2%. Randomly shocks, burns, or spikes an opponent. Whap an opponent with a genned Mage Rod. Short reach. Forward A - Dagger Lunge, 9%. Attack should be self-explanatory. Backward A - Crescent Blade, 8%. A backward, rising arc, using a sword. Covers the entire back half of Red Mage. Up A - Staff Flip, 14%. Takes longer than the others, but does more damage and has more power. A flipping swing of a staff. Down A - Blade Toss, 10%. Toss your blade straight downward, blade first. Cannot be used over a pit, as RM falls straight down after it. Throws A or Z hit while grab - Quick Knee, 1-3%. Hit your opponent with your knee. Up - Bolt Toss, 5% - Throw your opponent upward and hit them with a Bolt spell. Down - Drop'n'slash, 6% - Drop your opponent and slash at them. Forward - Red Hat Return, 2-7% - Throw your opponent forward, then throw your hat at them. Hit or miss, the hat returns to you, but if it hits there is more damage. Backward - Backward Hat Boomerang, 1-8% - Same as last time, but throw the opponent backward. Special B - Fog, 0% - While holding this up, projectile attacks (thrown items not included) pass through you harmlessly AND are sent back at the opponent. This does not guard against physical attacks or thrown objects. Forward B - Fire, 1-5% per hit, up to 5 hits - Toast your opponent with a beam of fire. Has range equal to the Fire Flower. Due to fire stun, can set an opponent up for a combo Up B - Aero, 10% - Create a vertical gust of wind, sending any opponent above you further into the air. Acts like Fox's Blaster in that there is no stun effect. Down B - Ice, 2% and freeze - Shoots opponent with a short-range puff of intense cold. Will freeze if it hits. I did what I could to keep this as true to his original FF versions as possible. His teleporting second jump is a Warp spell from FF1, and the weapons are all weapons a Red Mage has been able to use, although I'm a little unsure about the Mage Rod. And I'm using Red Mage here because most games that a Red Mage has appeared in were on a Nintendo system (3 of 5, and that's if RM is in X-2, otherwise 3 of 4). That, and I think he lends himself well to SSB, somehow. |
