I saw this in my local paper. Pretty amusing. He lost something like 500 golf balls in the process.

Originally posted by NightHawk Well as I said, it's a cover of a video game tune, so I didn't write it. Most of the arranging was initially done over a few days in early May, as the rough draft was due at the end of that month (I think I got it all done before school let out on the 11th of May). The reggae (1:39) and swing (2:09) variations were conceived sometime in June, at which point I went and rerecorded basically the entire thing (I think the only part preserved from the original was the guitar part from the Waltz (2:29)). The guitar is obviously a compilation of takes; the bass, on the other hand, was one continual take from start-to-finish. It's interesting how stuff evolves from beta to final. As I mentioned, the rough draft was missing two variations, making it about a minute shorter. Additionally, the distortion on the last two sections was initially really treblely and annoying to the ears. Originally posted by kornfan Sounds like a problem with your speakers. It doesn't "say" anything, because it's an instrumental. (edited by Emptyeye on 07-28-04 05:34 PM) |

Welcome. Make sure to take a look in your profile for all sorts of stuff you can customize, with more coming soon (Presumably). |

Yeah, first you download the IPS patch of the hack. Now you need a patching program...I believe Lunar IPS is the one generally used here. Just open it and follow the directions, and hopefully you'll be good to go. |

MC Kids is actually quite good, albeit way too hard for the target audience. Worst game EVER? I'm sticking with X-Men on the NES. |

I went with Ozzy. Rammstein are certainly a very good band, but...C'mon, it's Ozzy.

Well, the Ebay offer on my "Complete the offer" screen is grayed out and has a bunch of red checks on it. I guess that's a good thing?

A mere 48000 or so on my first go. And Hiryuu is exactly right, it's VERY reminiscent of the Rat Race level from Battletoads. |

Recently I went to play through the end of Super Metroid, only to discover all my saved data was erased. So I started from the beginning. Damn, how could I forget how amazing this game really is? And I haven't played it in long enough that most everything is new to me again. Fun, fun game, definitely. EDIT: Actually, the creepy thing is that Super Metroid can now be legitimately considered "old-school". Christ, it's been ten years already?! I still remember the day it was supposed to come out (The fact that there was a public release date was still HUGE at the time)...I was the tender age of 10 years old, and my cousin intercepted me, my mom, and my great grandma at Pat's IGA in Wolcott, and took me hunting for the game. As I recall, it got delayed by several days. But damn, was it worth the wait. (edited by Emptyeye on 07-29-04 09:04 PM) |

The logic these parents use astounds me. I actually wrote a Letter to the Editor about this issue a year or so back. The main point was that by this same logic, we can conclude that religion is evil (Because fringe terrorist groups twist it to meet their demands and then use it as the basis for their terror) and should also be kept away from children. |

For what it's worth, I picked up Sword of Mana but have yet to play it. I'm saving it for my hospital stay. It's supposedly a remake of the old Final Fantasy Adventure, which was a lot of fun, so it stands to reason that this would be good too. You may have played and beaten it on SNES (Probably more than once), but A Link to the Past is available on GBA. It's one of my favorite SNES games, and I can't see why the GBA version would be any different. You may also look into the port of Breath of Fire II. It was fun for the early going, then I let my friend borrow it and forgot where I was. Oops. Oh well. |

As I said, I seem to have been credited with doing SOMETHING for the EBay thing. Still tells me to complete an offer though. Colleen: I don't expect to win it, quite simply. Also, it still WORKS, I guess the tray needs realigning or something. |

DEFINITELY pick up A Link to the Past then. One of my measures for determining my favorite games (Particularly RPGS) is "How many times have I played through this game?" By that standard, Link to the Past is up there with the best of them..I've gone through it, probably at least five times all told. I suppose you may want to look into Yoshi's Island as well, just because it's Yoshi's Island. |

Going to the doctor for a follow-up on what I thought was viral bronchitis and ending up in the hospital for 10 days (Finding out I had cancer) was certainly not fun. Specifically, having a Foley Catheter in me for two days was the worst part. |

I love AVG myself. It caught a trojan/virus thing I was stupid enough to install. Totally my fault, and my instinct told me not to, but I ignored it. No real damage done, though it took about two days to completely wipe the thing from my comp.

I too voted for the Who. Elvis is Elvis, yeah, but as a bassist, I owe more to the Who in general and John Entwistle in particular for doing his part to make the bass guitar acceptable as a "lead" instrument, particularly with his "My Generation" solo. |
