Hey, after playing with knoppix on my pc, I quite fancy using linux on it, but I don't know which distro would be best for me!

I just want to use it for general web use etc, but I'm sick of windows crashing every 30 minutes!

The PC is a 400 Celeron, with 64 Mb ram, a 10gb HDD, 802.11g wireless networking card and some form of generic graphics card! (iirc, its a tnt2 64mb, but don't hold me to it!)

Isn't it ALWAYS a blow-off class? Kinda like chorus. (Full disclosure: I was never in band.)

No. Definately not. Well, at least at my high school (in the UK) it wasn't, seen as we had the best music teacher in the whole of the UK, who wrote a musical every two years! Especially around musical time, we were practicing 8 hours every saturday and sunday, and an hour after school each day. I enjoyed it tho! Got to tour the UK at 15

Give me a Kurzwell K2000 anyday over a Casio Hell, check out the Neko 64 keyboard, running an AMD Opteron 64 with XP and the ability to run any software synth. The best of both worlds!

I have When you've worked in a studio/with bands with proper equipment the yamaha psr series pale in comparison. Try Korg, they are far superior keyboards and the latest ones are bringing in sampling at affordable prices.

The neko 64 is about

I'm right-handed and I always chew on the left side of my mouth. Like kario said, when I was little I had two teeth removed from the top, one on the left and one on the right, the one on the right snapped on its way out, so I had to have it surgically removed and I didn't eat on that side for ages.

Posted on 02-07-05 03:59 PM, in Poor HTML programming Link
FIRST OF ALL: This is NOT a Firefox vs IE/microsoft hating thread, if anyone wants to go pimp their browser, there's plenty of other fanboy threads out there. Don't piss all over my thread.

Secondly, I was wondering if you nice poeple here could help me put an end to a long and tiresome debate I've had with my friend.

I say that sites which work only in IE are poorly/lazily programmed.
My friend says that sites which work only in IE are correct, because that is the standard.

Surely, even the fact that microsoft make up their own tolerances for how IE reads HTML, doesn't make it standard?

I've given him the w3c as an example of the standard of HTML and how they've instigated and refined other web languages, such as xml, xhtml etc etc. Surely if it was left up to microsoft we'd still be on HTML v3! With no CSS!

He refutes that argument by simply re-iterating what he says before, which is IE is most popular.

By the way, we both code in HTML 4.01 transitional and use CSS and use firefox, just he is fixiated on the mythical "IE standard"

Please help knock some sense into him. Or just beat him senseless. Whichever suits your purposes better

Y'know, there's a LOT of us gblt (gay/bi/lesbian/transsexual) peeps who abhor the whole "gay pride" movement and would just rather live normal quiet live. Except for the fact that they are gay. I personally HATE the gay pride thing, it forces undue attention on my friends and I, and the community as a whole are subjected to hate (like seen in the thread) and hate crimes (beatings, rapings and quite often murder) for something that we CANNOT control. Do you think I asked to be born into a boys body, but have the mindset of a female? Do you think I enjoy it?

You mention quite a lot that YOUR religion doesn't allow you to see the term and meaning of the WORD (yes folks, its a word. only that. nothing more) marriage altered to fit my fellow bretheren's needs. I don't believe in god, I've been brought up catholic, but recent experiences have led me to believe that the church is used as a brainwashing tool (lets keep the debate on track and not deviate ). And you, geeogree are a prime example of social conditioning from a scrict regime of religion. But because it goes against YOUR religion, does that mean I have to give up any rights to next of kin/inheritance/etc? It is MY beliefs that people were more open minded and religion didn't play so much of a part in politics as it does. But you don't see me waving a banner around advertising that fact do you? No, because I respect other peoples beliefs and actions. Why can't you? After all, thats supposedly what christianity is all about, is it not?

EDIT: I'd like to thank Vystrix Nexoth for defending the gblt community and for everyone elses openmindedness about things. and stuff

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=757&e=1&u=/nm/20050208/od_nm/odd_testicles_dc

LONDON (Reuters) - A Welsh rugby fan cut off his own testicles to celebrate Wales beating England at rugby, the Daily Mirror reported Tuesday.

Geoff Huish, 26, was so convinced England would win Saturday's match he told fellow drinkers at a social club, "If Wales win I'll cut my balls off," the paper said.

Friends at the club in Caerphilly, south Wales, thought he was joking.

But after the game Huish went home, severed his testicles with a knife, and walked 200 yards back to the bar with the testicles to show the shocked drinkers what he had done.

Huish was taken to hospital where he remained in serious condition, the paper said.

Wales's 11-9 victory over England at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff was their first home win over England in 12 years.

I've been to nothing BUT catholic schools, and colleges, and they endorse the evolution theory and, as my religious studies teacher (who's also a catholic priest) once said "Creationism is a load of bollocks"

Those "lasers" you see are tracer bullets. iirc, the bullet is hollowed out at the back and loaded with magneseum (sp?) powder which burns brightly, leaving a "trace"

To date, I cannot remember my 18th birthday, my 19th birthday, the past two christmasses and last time I went bowling (we have vodka forfeits).

Having said that, it takes a hell of a lot of drink to get me to that point. And I don't get hangovers
