We all know about all the generic rock and nu-metal bands out there that suck. Hoobastank... Linkin Park... Good Charlotte... Adema... etc.

I'm proposing taking one song from a number of nu-metal and generic rock bands that suck and carefully remixing it to be a really cool metal song. Like "A Place For My Head" by Linkin Park would be a good song if you speed it up a little bit, totally replace the guitars, but keep the main tune and have Alexi Laiho as the vocalist... also the guitarist... You see what I'm talking about?

This should be released as an album with all sorts of great remixes. A Linkin Park fan or a Hoobastank fan will look at it and say: "Hey I like that song. I'll get that CD." and then get blown away by awesome metal. It would convert a lot of people to real metal! ^^

Find me the seperate tracks (ie guitars/vocal/bass/drums/synth/samples) and I could do it no problem.

Neb, I'll break it down.

You find her individual tracks.

These are basically the following as listed by her.

Each of these tracks are melded together to make a single song.

If you can get them to her.

She can make you the shit you want.

You just need technical knowledge to seperate the recording levels and clean it all up of other recorded disturbances.

lol technical knowledge which I dont have.

Also: I was thinking more of actually replaying the song instead of doing a digital remix.

Why though? Do you like, think the songs would sound better in metal or something?

There have been so few successes like that.

The best one EVER was RATM doing Fuck the Police. And that was hardly "metaL".

Probably because they try to do it in some american style of metal. Do it in other styles like they play in European countries.

That's a cool idea. Hoobastank though.. I dont see how you can take a song by them and make it worth listening to. Maybe Linkin Park, they have good lyrics, at least.
"A Place For My Head" is a good candidate. If anyone ever does this, try that song.
I used to like Linkin Park, back when their first album first came out.

A Perfect Circle - The Outsider would sound great as a metal song, in my opinion.

Well a lot of north american bands suck... except for the classics of course. They're just... loud... angry... not much more. When you get to the European countries, you get good things like Symphony X, Ensiferum, Edguy, etc. Although a couple bands from north america that I do like are Iced Earth and 3 Inches Of Blood.

No they don't.

You make generalizations beyond generalizations. You know nothing about metal. Be quiet and stop saying things that hurt my eyes.

Why don't you post intelligently and with dignity, thus offending far less people?

Look, you have poor taste in music. The majority of modern American metal does suck. But guess what. Just as much Europea metal sucks. There is no magical shining becaon of great music. If there is, you wouldn't have seen it yet. Besides, most of the talented guitarists come from America. The majoirty of influence comes from America. Death metal comes from Florida to be precise, and grindcore has its roots in Massa chew sits. To be honest, American metal bands suck at covers. HIM destroyed Don't Fear the Reaper, as just one mere example. Plus, a lot of European music is even more cookie cutter than Slip Knot and other North American bands.

FYI, I've been listening to this music since I was 3, I'm a lot more passionate than you are.

HIM are Finnish

And if you meant that they play American Metal... That's just too far down the metal family tree than I dare to venture. For me, it's metal or it's not. I enjoy listening to a multitude of metal bands, and I really couldn't care less for the pointless bickering that classifying metal bands produces.
Music is what you listen to, not for fueling arguements.

Can anyone supply the seperate tracks in question? I think A Place For My Head would be a good example to start with
