| OOC: I kinda figured that. Emily is actually nothing but a soul, but a soul stronger than all Holy Gods combined (due to the Living Assets in her) and 1000 years old at that. She would most definitely have some pretty strong resistance to Legion's absorbsion attacks, but at the same time, not having a physical body would re-lower her defense against it. "Whooa--hooolieee!" It hits Emily like a ton of bricks. She's had this happen to her before, and her form is actually trained to resist and combat it... that doesn't mean she's immune to it, though, and the force of Red Light nearly paralyzes her. At the same time, rainbow ether surges up all around her, which is her Living Assets' automatic reaction to defending against such a powerful luring. "I call upon thee, Sensae!" "What is that, Emily? You know I cannot-- or WILL not-- directly intervene with Psi Warrior combat. What do you seek?" "Just... your guidance." "...That is what I wanted to hear. Believe, Emily!" Hope, the one easily scarce essence in such a situation as this, floods into her. It has been there all along... but Sensae has invoked it in Emily for calling on him in a time of peril. She holds strong against the mental pull of Legion's dark and tricky power. "Return to Hell, spawn of darkness!" Emily counters as her eyes light up brightly, sending a telepathic psychic pulse through the Red Light into Legion. The invisible, spiritually sonar-based attack travels from mind to mind across the Red Light like hard vacuum, slamming the mind directly without harming the body, and packs some heavy force; even if the damage isn't the highest, it's bound to temporarily paralyze pretty much any target it hits undefended against, unless the target has one heck of a strong mind (Dragons, for example, which have some of the strongest minds of all). She hopes the attack will do something to stop Legion's attack, for soon it may start causing Emily pain to hold fast for so long against something so powerful. |

OOC: Shoot!!! Hey, that's pretty funny! Subplot, you say? Let me fuel the fire.  "Gah! You mean they're searching the countryside for us from now on? Yeah, that IS bad... Oh God! What about Schwa? That blue ether looks pretty familiar, after all... Janus, we need speed, and we need it NOW. Work some reversed time-magic on us and speed us up, if possible!" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Meanwhile... "You're surrounded! Don't move!" "Whazzat?" In midair, Schwa looks around. He's over the ocean, and helicopters have sphere-formationed around him. He's literally surrounded on all sides. "Do not attempt to attack! You are surrounded!" Schwa tries the reasonable approach... "Okay, what's this all about?" his voice echoes to all the copters. "You KNOW I, a Psi Warrior, would not dare attack the officers of Law unless it was an Evil law. And it isn't! So I won't! And you're saying I will! Someone is MISSING something!!" The head copter radios a broadcasted voice to Schwa, though not terribly loud as before. "Explain yourself. You were chased down the Stardust Speedway last night and seen assulting our copters." "Well, I can assure you it wasn't me..." he reads the officer's mind and continues, "...but if you're thinking my blue ether gives it away, which you are, chances are we have a Doppleganger on our hands." Silence. Then, "Uhm, err, if you say so... We don't believe the Psi Warriors really would turn terrorist on us. But we can't let this go, either... Catch us this Doppleganger and return him, dead or alive." "You got it. Whoever tried framing me is probably Evil, therefore it is my duty to fight it. You have my word that I'll return this foe to you, and I never break a promise. Let Schwa ride!" The copters spread, and Schwa takes off. "Sensae, try and supply me with a telepathic ping on where the perpetrator may be." Interestingly, Sensae does, laughing to himself the whole way. OOC: If this is too over the top, I shall revise this part of the story. |

| "WaHOO!!" Yiusi just relaxes for the ride. At this rate, they're pretty much practically there already. Meanwhile... "TWO pings? Sensae, what's the matter with you?" "Don't look at me, I only sent you one." "That means one of them is trying to cause me trouble by throwing me off. I'll investigatte them both." And Schwa speeds off, no longer on the trail of Janus but of someone else. Sensae laughs again. |

| "Stupid freak coincidence..." Emily mutters as her attack is stopped. Then Legion kicks it up a notch with his mirrors. "Ayyyye!!" The rainbow ether practically explodes all around Emily. She is still standing strong! But the effort to do so is actually deteriorating her body. She needs a way out, fast... The terrain! Red sand can be used to her advantage. "Aero Psiwave!" (echo effects) Her eyes flash again, as a powerful blast of psychic air explodes from a designated location-- underground! The blast is enough to coat a very large area in a temporary crimson duststorm for a while, kicked up from the ground by the underground explosion of air, shielding Emily from the Red Light for at least a while. In that time, Emily quickly thinks up another defense... |

| To be honest, I've never, not ONE time in my life, played a DDR game. A friend of mine here, Grey, suggests I should try it. I've agreed, and that was quite a bit ago and I still haven't found the time. Which means, in turn, that this game and I were meant for each-other. Now... if only they'd make a Sonic the Hedgehog DDR game! That would REALLY own!! |

| Translhextion is the best Hex Editor for hacking in-game text. It's the one I use, and I am glad to see someone else use it proudly like that. Allow me to explain how to edit Text... First, what you need is a Thingy Table! To get one, use the Search menu and the Scan Relative option, and scan the Rom for the EXACT string you're looking to edit, case sensitive. If you type it in perfectly and it doesn't work, it's not your fault; half of the time, Translhextion (as with most Hex Editors) can't tell some upper-case letters or punctuation. This is especially the case with SMB3, for example. Just type in another string, hopefully nearby the one you're after, and give it another shot. Should it find a string, immediately hit Generate Table. This will save a Thingy Table into play. Now, go to the Table menu and the Open Thingy Table option, open your recently begotten Table, and suddenly your runes have morphed into *trumpet fanfare* random letters! From here on it's only a matter of changing the bytes in the strings to make the letters you want. You can be sure of the fact that each letter is assigned a 2-digit hex number, and it'll really help you if you make a chart on paper or something that says what each letter's 2-didgit hex value is. That's what I did for SMB3. Man, I know I'm nothing compared to some hackers in this community, so I usually keep quiet, but MAN! It felt REALLY good to actually be useful for something for once! Dude, do me a favor, take this advice and run with it, making a legendary hack in the end. I feel fulfilled that I was finally able to throughly help a fellow Haxxor. |

Dude, I'd LOVE to take part in this... ...however, I have many other projects under construction that need attending to, and one of them includes the Super Mario Battle Arena (in the Mario Forum), which is another form of writing... Damn! I need to know the deadline. My kingdom for the deadline!! I'll give this one some hardcore thought, because I can't see myself NOT entering, but if I do enter I need time and energy, as do all legends of writers... Toxic! You're one of my new heroes! | AH!! Why, it's the Copter Bubble, the very essence of metamorphosis on Yoshi's Isle. Ahh... 'Tis a beautiful thing when a Yoshi embraces one of these bubbles and experiences true soul unison. Not many are capable of this feat, you know... Yoshi lore states that the bubbles were probably created by ancient Magikoopa guardians to assist the Yoshi tribes in their first battles against the natives on the isle... The guardian Magikoopas were supposedly led by a seer who saw the Yoshi nation to be very prosperous, if given the chance, so they went ahead and summoned the bubbles which allowed the Yoshis to become versatile upon terrain, and eventually better at fighting in all circumstances. Thus, the Yoshis prospered... They probably would have anyway, but the Bubbles severely helped. Anyway, that's just a theory in an old book I bought from an Indigo Ninji a few years ago. There's other cool stuff inside the book, but now's not the place to discuss it... Cool ancient reference, Peardian! I had no idea you knew the Lore so vividly. Keep the comics coming, pal-- you just keep getting better! |

| You know what THIS means... "Meoooork!" Yes, the dreaded Fuzzies attack. The Green ones hold mastery over multiplcation and sheer number, the Yellow ones are the masters of a long, repeated attack, and the Pink ones are masters of osmosis and magic. Quite a fearsome combination! Let's see... MM's best bet would be to whip out an Earth-based attack, as the Pink Fuzzy fur would not be able to osmose physical damage, and take them out one turn at a time, starting with the greens. In MM's shoes I would strongly avoid using fire or electricity, for the opposite reason; Pink Fuzzies would be able to absorb the Elemental Energy and turn it back at double power. Kirby should focus solely on the Yellow one and attempt to eat it, gaining himself a continuous attack to lash the Pinks with. Ah, enough of my military-like strategies... Do what you want, MM! It's YOUR comic! I just like strategizing privately to myself, you shouldn't let this alter your plans. |

The Psi Warriors could've easily taken out ol' Voidflare D, given the notice, and Sensae DEFINITELY would have been able to sense it's presence..." He thinks it over, travelling into the pit at the same time. "What probably happened is that the dragon incident was over with before the Psi Warriors could come into play... Even if you knew we were coming, the forest would've been obliterated by the time we appeared. And they planned it that way! Dammit!" Schwa studies his surroundings once inside the pit. "Now, you mentioned that the forest is sacred... I'm interested in why. Is it an ancestor thing? Ever since I've been here, my arm has tingled like crazy, and that's the Ma Pingon DNA part of me going nuts because the forest's spiritual energy is so strong. That would have to explain it..." |

I've changed the style of character descriptions a little as to be more eye-friendly. Here is! Battle#10:  Chyckya sprite effortfully designed by Grynz of The Spriter's Resource. Thanks, man. West side: Mountain Battalion - Chuckya (Daugo) (Leader) HP: lllll. Atk: lllll. Def: lll... Spd: lll... * Chuckya's attacks include picking up and throwing mainly, plus an occasional fist-strike or ground-pound. He is not affected by the wind blowing across the battlefield. His throws come in many varieties. - Paragoomba (Ty) - Paragoomba (Vinnie) HP: lll... Atk: lll... Def: ll.... Spd: lllll. * Paragoombas can fly, and the two of these ones are capable of several attack or defense formations. They can use normal tackle-attacks, plus they can launch Micro-Goomba batallions at will from the air. East side: The Honor Band - Sonic Porcupo (Muskett) (Leader) HP: lll... Atk: llll.. Def: lll... Spd: llllll * Muskett's attacks are all lightning-fast, and similar to Sonic the Hedgehog's. He can curl into a ball, rev up, and slam a foe, he can execute lightning-fast tackles, and on some occasions he can even let loose a spine-flurry, though this one may reduce his own HP. His spines protect him better against physical attacks. - White ShyGuy (Palla) HP: llll.. Atk: ll.... Def: lll... Spd: lll... * Palla specializes in white magic. Some of his spells include a Holy Bolt, an area-of-effect White Explosion, the summoning of Mushroom Barriers, a very minor Health Plus skill, an All-Stats Blessing, and many others. - Camo-Guy (Lieutennant) HP: llll.. Atk: lllll. Def: lll... Spd: lll... * Lieutennant specializes in close-range combat. Once a general in the ShyGuy Army, he is fearless and knows not only martial arts, but the usage of many weapons. He always weilds an assortment of grenades, including Normal, Smoke, Flash and Shrapnel. i- Treble Box * This item, when used, emits a high-pitched, arcane tune that only affects the opposite team. This tune will temporarily reduce either the Offensive, Defensive, or both stats for all foes that can hear it. The Terrain: This battle takes place on the southeast corner of Tall Tall Mountain. The terrain is rough and gritty, but mostly flat, and there are no real obstacles in the paths of the fighters. The weather is sunny and cloudy, and since they are on a high-up mountain it may be pretty gusty at times. Anyone who manages to fall off the cliff nearby is gone from the battle. Fighter and Team Background: Mountain Battalion is a symbol of courage and power for Tall Tall Mountain. Daugo, the only Chuckya on the mountain, is rightfully king of it, and watches over his gruff land with the help of the Goombas, Lakitus, Kikis and Monty Moles that inhabit it. Two Paragoombas, Ty and Vinnie, are Daugo's right-hand men and warriors, as they can fly over the whole mountain and keep out intruders with their Micro-Goomba battalions. Daugo, while an awesome ruler, doesn't trust outsiders very easily, probably because he is highly protective of his people and land. The Honor Band started with a single Porcupo-- that had been genetically enhanced thanks to technology. An experimental subject for E. Gadd, he was genetically engineered to see how fast one could cause a Porcupo to become, Muskett being the result. Mutated and angry, Muskett turned on E. Gadd and, after tackling him once lightning-fast (which was enough to put E. Gadd out for a while), he escaped the lab. Muskett now resembled Sonic the Hedgehog (which nobody in the Mushroom Kingdom ever figured out) and had increased speed, but he was a freak. On the road one night, he met Palla, a young ShyGuy Priest, who saw Muskett for who he really was, so Muskett begged Palla to travel with him. He accepted, knowing that Muskett could do to use a bit of white magic on his team. The two of them decided to go to Tall Tall Mountain for a while, as Palla suggested that it would be a great place for meditation. At the mountain base, Lieutennant the Camo-Guy stood there, coaching some other ShyGuys in a military drill. After Palla talked with him, they learned he too was on his way to the mountain top, and agreed to accompany them as a trio to the top. What to Know: As The Honor Band makes its way up the mountain, Ty and Vinnie, flying through the air, will spot them and report it to Daugo. Immediately Daugo comes to meet them a quarter of the way through to learn their intentions. The result is a test-battle; Daugo declares that if they cannot beat him and his cohorts in a duel, they are not worthy to scale his sacred land. Mountain Battalion has the upper hand battle-wise, for their fighters are strong and can fly, but The Honor Band has with them an item. Muskett is the leader of The Honor Band, so the others in his team will fight better in his presence. Daugo is also a leader, but should he fall, the other team will have won; the catch is that Ty and Vinnie are capable of bringing up all sorts of flight formations to defend Daugo, and will always put the defense of their leader over their own safety. Correct bets for this battle are worth double coins. Notices: -Since we won't be having any more interactive Tourneys as to prevent the disaster that almost happened, I had to find another way to allow you to use your coins for something. I have indeed found a way, but it'll take a while to set up. (Don't worry, it's not interactive... You can basically unlock stuff from me.) If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask, but know that I won't be spoiling anything really important until it's complete. -Since CM asked for the return of Desert Crackers and I promised him yes, it will be so... on Battle#21. That will be a special fight, so stay tuned. -On the same note, the return of either Porcu-Power or the Buster Bros. is coming up as well. Stay tuned for that as well. I can't give the date away, sorry, but I can promise you it'll come slightly sooner than Battle#21. -The Spriters Resource doesn't have EVERY SM64 or PM or whatever-sprite for me to use, so if anyone has an obscure request from a non-2D game and designs a high-quality sprite for me to use at the same time (for example, Peardian's Bristle), that person will be awarded coins. But this is only if I ever use that sprite in a battle, so make sure someone's requested it first, or make sure it's so good I can't resist using it! -I need to know your opinions on this idea: Entering one guest-star from the Kirby or Zelda series for a single battle? I ask because this is the MARIO Arena, and you didn't necessarily come to see Kirby or Zelda characters battle (even if it is alongside Mario characters), but you may like the idea. | After Metal and Garro have left to the cafeteria, about a minute later, something's visible in the sky... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Meanwhile... "Schwa, get UP!" It's Allaura, standing over Schwa's bed and nudging him with both her hands. "No... Go'way, Allaura... Tired..." "Schwa, you have to judge!" "Wha?" He bolts out of bed, then collapses in it again. "No... I'm not judging anymore." "You can't just quit! They haven't found someone else in time for the 6th Round!" "I can, and I will. Why don't YOU judge the match." And he falls asleep again. Allaura storms out of his room like a little sister who's just gotten into a quarrel with her bro. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Two familar figures drop into the arena and head over to Grey. One is a 10-year-old boy wearing a cyber-suit, colored blue-silver and shimmering with neon lines that streak over his cyber-parts in patterns every few seconds. The other character is a 10-year-old girl, with nearly celestial beauty, in lavender armor shaped sort of like Jirachi's, with a glossy, silver crystal in the center of her helmet. She looks very happy at the moment... The two figures form Team Gemini, but they don't seem like they usually are. The girl, Amiachi, steps forward. "Hi, Grey! We're filling in for Schwa as judges." Her voice is not even echo-y or anxiety-forming anymore! "Don't worry, I sensed the whole battle as we entered the planet's atmosphere." "Ami," Korra reminds her, "Remember, Grey won't believe you if you just say it..." "Sure he will, brother!" Ami cheerfully states. Korra feels like he's missing something. "Sorry, Grey, Korrachi doesn't understand your nature just yet. Now, allow me to get to the judging!"It's hard for me to decide who, between Garro and Metal, is the better fighter. In technique, they were perfectly matched, and in battle they were almost matched, matched enough for it to be a tie anyway. I've noticed that Metal has improved his technique DRAMATICALLY since he first began! He was very descriptive, as was Garro, which is why I say they were matched in technique... "...I really want to give the fight to Metal because you, Grey, seem to win a lot of Schwa's votes, but I can't be biased, can I? The only difference was, I think, that Garro's internal monolouge was deeper than Metal's, and creativity makes a difference in Schwa's (and my own) judging... Since pretty much everything else was even between the two, that has to be the deciding factor, and the match would go to Garro. "One thing I need to comment on, though! Metal used a teleporation move at the beginning of the fight, and Garro countered with one of his own. I would say they both broke the rules on that one, so if you could, please tell them both to be more careful! "That's all I really have to say. Now... --!!" Her crystal flashes. Korra runs up. "What is it, Ami?" "Uh... Something is calling from a nearby planet. A war is starting. I can feel their anger from here." "Then we should go!" Korra takes her arm, and calls to Grey, "Thanks for hearing Ami out! She really wanted to do this. Now, duty calls!" With a running start, they leap up and Ami summons a telekinetic bubble around them, carrying them into the atmosphere at nearly the speed of light. Perhaps Ami is no longer captivated by her emotions. Whatever the reason, she's definitely not the same Ami the world once knew! |

| Technically a Ukiki would be considered a Neutral for Kirby. Or at least, that's what MY sources tell me... Either that, or swallowing one would yeild an increase in Agility and Evasion for a while. Hmm... Yes, that fortress was home to many over the years... First Prince Froggy, then the Crabs, then the Pirhana Plants, now Ukikis... My estimation is that by 2020 it'll be a ShyGuy Port/Base, rebuilt to produce naval ships. Y'know, Prince Froggy's Fort has been on many shows on the Mushroom History Channel... and there have been many debates over what will become of it. Enough rambling! This is getting downright AWESOME!! I can barely wait for Team BazookaGuy to battle MM and Kirby. Hell, I'd even love to interview Bazooka Guy someday! He's my new favorite character in this comic!! |

| To Captain Moneybags: Overuse? No, we're talking ONE time EVER. After all, this is the MARIO Arena! If I put a Kirby enemy every 5 battles, this Arena would lose it's value! So that's why, if at all, there would only ever be one battle that ever had a Kirby enemy in it. And even still the Kirby enemy would be fighting alongside Mario enemies, as not to take the spirit of Mario out of this Arena. To all: Your bets have been processed. I'll have the battle finished in a few hours, so 2 weeks from now I'll post it. In the meantime, I'll PM some other people in the Coin Count list to tell them the Arena is back to normal (so we get more customers back). Also, note the bottom of my post. | "Eesh!" Schwa takes battle-stance formation. "Looks like ol' Mr. Dark wants to delay us. Also looks like he didn't plan on my presence when he set this up. Alright, lets clean this with speed and grace." Schwa focuses rainbow ether into his palms... "Psi Blessing!" (echo effects) ...and shoots it all over Ashra! The ether is to swirl around Schwa's ally and flow into him, increasing Attack and Defense and also supplying him with a turn of pre-charged energy! Catch: This was a mighty maneuver to pull off, and Schwa is incapable of pulling off a Tech next turn. After using his high-level Tech, Schwa step-glides back to Corona's side, ready to defend him if necessary. Solaris and Pingo have secretly come along for the ride right behind Schwa, to help if needed. Both Solaris and Pingo are absolutely alive with energy right now-- Solaris because the better Schwa does, the better Solaris does, and Pingo because they're underneath a forest radiating with natural energy. |
