Well, BMF (Neko) or someone sent me a blank ExGFX file a while back but I now know an easer way than asking someone.

Just d/l an ExGFX file from the ExGFX workshop and copy that file. Then open it up in YY-chr (TLP) and delete the graphics that are in there. That way you have a blank ExGFX file that is 4kb. Now just proceed with the m16-7k as normal. This is what I have been doing, however I can't seem to get the stuff to save. It migt be this keyboard I have. It can't regester more than 4 keys at a time (its from 2003).

If your wondering how I can acess the m16-7k, I use a different keyboard when I want to access that.

I love cogeco its great, just slow... I live in canada, south eastern ontario. Don't want to give out to much info. I wasn't saying I got a virus from cogeco working on the box, I was saying that it was slow. It happens all the time when they work on the box.

I found it while searching the internet. On the site it said it was the original banner, but to me it looks more christmasy. I wouldn't think its for all year round. Its also got beta in its name, but that doesn't really mean anything. Just wondering.

I searched beta acmlm and I found some site. Had a few links and now that I look at it, it was linking to the server. Oh well, that conker banner is awesome. The other character looks like someone from Charley Brown. Its better than the current banner, that creature is creepy...

I will try to find some different banners. If there are any.

When you edit in lm the palette is default blue. You have to open the palette editor(the rainbow star) and edit from there. I don't know if tlp shows the actual colours because I use YY-chr, but yy also shows very bad palette. so just edit in lm, and change the palette with the star. but if your making new gfx, use yy-chr if tlp isn't working.

Well, we figured out what the problem was, and believe it or not, it was cogeco working on the box out side my house. We had a cogeco guy come over to look at our computer like 2 hours ago and he said our modem was fried. It turns out that they made some kind of error while fixing the box, and everyone who had a specific modem (the one I had) had there modem fried. I don't know how that works exactly but some of my friends computers who download megabytes a second were going at like 200-300kb sec. Which is good, seeing as mine went at 230bytes sec.

All is fixed, and it doesn't take half an hour to load a page. He said we shouldn't have been using the computer at that speed because of the modem or something. Oh well.

Posted on 08-01-04 11:54 PM, in The ExGFX Workshop: Your #1 place for freebie ExGFX! Link
It looks good, but I have some stuff to comment on:

Pic 1: Is this a ship, or something else. The windows throw me off because it looks like its sitting on the ground. Very nice use of the ExGFX here however the question blocks palette is off, they look sort of greenish. Also the lamp thats right above them looks like its in the FG instead of the BG. It needs to be a bit darker. The boxes to the left are cool.

Pic 2: BG doesn't really fit with the FG. I love that BG, and have been meaning to d/l it, but in this shot I see something behind those pillars; its red and white dashes.

Pic 3: I was never a fan of that BG because it looks to NES like. Not that theres anything wrong with the NES. Did you edit those pipes at all? They look like they have a larger gap between them than usual but I could be mistaken.

Pic 4: I love OWs, there one of the best things in SMW. You just need to fix the palette on that pirana plant, and on the ghost (why is he so big anyway?). I also hope your not done the OW, because see that stuff in the water doesn't look good at all. I understand if its still a work in progress. And if this is supposed to be a hill top, why does that river go into the water above the hilltop? Thats just a bit odd...And you have two extra cliff lines to the left of the waterfall.

Pic 5: This shot is awesome!! Very well done. They are only two problems. Fix that vine, its got spaces in between it. And also fix the cliff lines the the left of the vine, They don't reach the top.

Pic 6: This is cool. The palette is much better on these blocks than in the first shot. Its great to see a title screen that isn't overcrowded. The line of clouds in the BG doesn't look very good, but its not that big of a deal.

I will definetly try this hack out and comment on any other problems I may see. Good job. Did you say this was your first hack?

Posted on 08-02-04 03:08 AM, in I have some ASM questions about the sprite that makes the dark screen. Link
I have created a wicked cave that is suppoed to be very dark. I can edit the palettes to make them darker but it doesn't look that great. So I use the "disco ball" to make a light source. First off the background, which is essential, doesn't show up when I use the light, and the sides of the screen are entirly black.

So my question is: can I use ASM to make the BG show up, and lighten the sides of the sceen so they are translucent black? Just so you can almost make out whats infront of you. So if I could use ASM to change this that would be great.

Does anyone know the byte/bytes I need to change? Or is more complicated than that?

Thanks

Posted on 08-02-04 04:28 AM, in MP3..all lost Link
This has actually happened to me once or twice. But I always have my actual MP3 songs burned to disk, and then just some random homemade MP3 files on my computer. I was listening to them in windows media player, weeding out all the not so good ones, and I had relised that I was actually deleting them from my computer. When you remove songs from the playlist (the first time) a box should pop up that asks if you just want to delete from the playlist or also delete from the computer. If you check the box that says yes to delete from the computer, and the box that says not to show the message again, everytime you delete a song from the play list, it will delete it from you computer.

Hopefully you understand that

BTW, dont bother with winamp, or WMP. Download Foobar its 100% better. I had a song that WMP, and winamp said was corrupt and wouldn't play, but It plays fine in foobar. Its great because it doesn't use alot of system resources. Hope that helps you.

Posted on 08-02-04 04:32 AM, in Coloured Windows 98 Toolbar Icons? Link
I wasn't really sure where to put this post so hopefully this is the right place

I have searched google, and found some sites that say they have programs to change or colour win98 toolbar icons, ther don't (or at least I can't find them). I have downloaded a program called ---Alive Icons--- which I haven't tried yet, but its only supposed to change the icons. I need to colour the, Back, Forward, Stop, Refresh, etc etc icons when I open up My Computer, or My Documents. I don't have internet on my other computer, which is the one I want to change the icons on. I really need some help here, I can do reg keys, and hex editing so thats no problem. I would perfer not having to edit Explorer.dll (I think its .dll) and not booting in DOS.

So if anyone could help me out that would be great. Thnaks

They will have to be more efficent because gas is quickly disappearing.

But this post reminds me of a story I read back in grade 6. It was called Zoo 2000 and at the beginning of the story, it seemed normal. However, by the end, we figured out that this was earth in year 2000 and all the humans wore white capes and had like 4 arms. And the animals were all mutated and deformed with mutiple limbs. So of corse we think that we will have flying cars in year 3000, just like these people (back in 1920's I think) thought the Earth would be full of white caped mutents.

Anyway, there are alrady flying cars, nothing like in the jetsons...but people have made them. If you watch Daily Planet on the Discovery channel (its an awesome show) you will see that there are flying cars. Only on some episodes tho, Im sure a few of you watch it...

Download Lunar IPS and apply that IPS to a Super Mario (World?) ROM.

I always thought they were real levels because when I use my ORIGINAL game I can access those levels with a game genie. So couldn't they actually be in the game, and not be glitches? I had one code that brought me to a "mushroom top" level that I had never seen any where else in the game. All this, on my original NES cart.

Okay, I have an idea about how to reverse the Chibi Moon code. I don't know if it would work, but would it be possible to copy ALL of the coding for an original, unlocked game and then compare that to an original locked game. LM must input a string of code or something like that that prevents it from loading the game, but instead shows that pop up box. Of coarse I am sure it would be more complex than that however. So would I be on the right track or just blabbering about nothing?

Also if you read the pop up box it says its an Almost irreversible (sp?) form of protection. Therefore it is bypassable.

Whats wrong is your using TLP, you should use YY-chr....

But to fix whats going on just make sure that your screen is maximized so it fits the entire monitor. If that doesn't work, maby Im thinking of something else, or your program is screwed.

I find it really cool that you can play roms from a zip file. Its great too, because I had a rom (some mario hack) and the zip was corrupt. However Zsnes still played it!!! Sort of odd considering it was corrupt...but im not complaining.

And you welcome for the help

Well, to my surprise what I did actually works!!!!!!

I only need to change to offset 000001F0 0F00 and change the game header to read Super MarioWorld. There are about 100-150 more offsets to change that I will try later. It might make the levels show up like normal.

Quite easy, but so far it only works for unedited roms. Meaning just a locked original rom. I have unlocked SDW:TLC, but the levels show up as garbage and I get constant errors about graphics and ASM hacks being enabled/disabled...???

The only SMW hack I haven't been able to unlock this way is Luigi's Adventure. Somethings different about it I think. But Im sure that it will show up as garbage just like SDW.

And does anyone remeber Super Mario Chrystal Island Adventures? I can unlock this hack and some of the levels show up almost fine. I need to import a new AllGFX.bin but some of the levels actually look good. Only edited blocks, ExGFX, and custom tiles don't show up.

But I think that this is a break thru (IMO) because at least I know how to unlock a hack.

Edit: I think I may have the level headers and all that stuff in my .xls file (excel spreedsheet) that I am making to show what to change. If this all works out I may uplaod it to my site. But hack makers who don't want there hacks unlocked (like me for instance) will not like this...if it works.

I have figured out a way to unlock a hack that was locked with the Chibi Moon code. It requires editing the game (.smc) in a hex editor (is this ASM?). I would give you the story of how I did it but lets just get to the code. Btw this will unlock the game, but the graphics will be all screwed up, I have not found out how to make it look good yet. So here is the code: This picture is big

Edit: You could of corse just edit offset 000001F0 0F00 and change 01 to 00 (or the other way around I can't remember) and then change the game header to read Super MarioWorld. You also need to change a character right before the "Super". You need to change it to a y with two dots over it (hex number = FF).

The chart makes the levels look better than just doing what I said above but the above way is quicker. I am still working on getting the graphics to show up right.

I agree that thats probably what will happen, but hopefully it wont come to that. I just wish I had kept my first hack that I made. I locked it, think that only my LM copy would open it, but I was wrong. Noob days.... Oh well. The graphics will still be messed up when you unlock the hack. The ONLY hack I have unlocked where everything showed up fine was just a test hack I looked to figure out this code.
