I already have found some hacks files for Super Mario in the format ips. I don't remember, but I see somewhere that the ips format is just to NES Emulators (I don't know anymore if that is true). Yesterday, I have go to the Zophar's Domain web-site and downloaded all NES Emulators. None of the emulators open the ips format. So, I want a help to know which emulator I can download to play with sucess the ips format file games. If you can help me, I will be very thankful.

Download Lunar IPS and apply that IPS to a Super Mario (World?) ROM.

IPS files are NOT roms, and no emulator will play them. They are patches. So what you do is you get the actual rom file for the game, then use an IPS patcher (I would strongly recommend lunar ips, which you can find on the hacking utilites page of acmlm) and then click "apply ips", select your ips file, then select the file to patch (the rom), and your done. I'm not entirely sure, but the patch will probably only work on a rom with the correct good name.

You could also (with ZSNES only) have both a rom and an IPS file with the same name in a directory.

That allows you to play the patched rom without actually... well, patching it officially.

So you could also compress them to a zip file, so they can be moved around together, I'm assuming. Thats pretty neat.

You CAN, with the problem being that ROMs themselves are usually illegal. Hence the need for IPS files in the first place.

I find it really cool that you can play roms from a zip file. Its great too, because I had a rom (some mario hack) and the zip was corrupt. However Zsnes still played it!!! Sort of odd considering it was corrupt...but im not complaining.

And you welcome for the help
