I was just experimenting with MWReconfigurator, I found the sprite code for mikeyk's hammer brother. I grabbed it into my hack, but it worked strangely. (I wasn't going to use it, BTW. Just trying to see if it worked ) I instead got this:

Anyone know how to remove the damn tiles at the top, fix the BG palette and keep the sprites from "appearing" on layer 2?

I decided against trying to get the hammer bros. after seeing how glitched this is, but wanted to isolate the thunder effect. Should have made that clearer.

Well, the difference is that Sunny Side World's GFX were HAND DRAWN. If the GFX were RIPPED from another existing game (such as SMAS) it's acceptable to take them, but not any hand drawn bits that they may have. But it's NOT okay to steal someone else's own graphics, unless they give you permission.

EDIT: Where did you get SSW, anyway? I've always wanted to play that hack since I lost it :\

That was me, BMF.

Actually, it worked to an extent but it put all sprites on layer 2, screwed up item reserve and left glitch tiles on the top of the screen. :\

I felt that the first world was quite bland, but it gets better at the first Ghost House...

Probably... or it may require a sprite like my shitty lightning

It would definitely require being a sprite if you wanted it to act more like the SMA Mario Bros. or SMB2 POW blocks, which I know for sure

Level design is most important, though the ExGFX and ASM hacks can definitely set more of a mood for your hack.

I'm wondering if the SMB1-remix part of this music is part of the SPC itself, or a separate SPC. In my hack, I don't want that part to play (as it's not a "Special" world)and am wondering if that needs SPC hacking.

You need to fix the ending REALLY badly.

Did you try looking for YY's LL SMB hack? (I recall there being one.)

Also, try opening lost levels in the SMB editor. I doubt it'd work... but it's worth a try

The BMPs, when I looked in properties, they were NOT 226K. Could have been edited by JJ, but you posted that BEFORE I looked at the filesize.
