I'd have to agree...i noticed the amount of work i did on ZDG went down right after my demo. I intend to do more gfx editing though im confused about a lot of the graphics.. some seem to be repeated despite them being in the same gfx set and also using the same colours and block types.

You think Euclid has any ASM / HEX details for the layer 3 HUD lieing around...im gona want to start one a new one soon.

Insteand of demo's, just throw a handful of pictures at us, or give us updates. That way you might not lose motivation after releasing a demo or whatnot.

I've never really enjoyed demo's anyways. And most of the time they end up being disappointing. Why? People usually don't finish their hacks afterwards (no offense NEON, trust me I've seen a lot of others do it too).

Gah, DxEdge should have finished Megaman Vortex.
I thought DX only released it as a demo cause he didnt manage to finish the entire game... Might be wrong though.

having your own thread for your hack is a good thing. i agree updates and pictures are better. So NO DEMO! Plus the advantage of one big thread is you can dip in and out with updates and information when you feel like. And i doubt youd get cained for double posting...cause its your thread.

See surely double posting should just fall under the Spam category where if its annoying its not aloud...Double posting for a update thats actually worth wild wouldnt be against the rules then.

As you can see, I'm mostly in this board for zelda threads.. Just see my posts... I'm not really interested in message boards at all.
Gotta agree with you there. I only ever post in a non-zelda forum if its someway related to something in my life at the moment or I've got something to show off or got to complement someone on their work. But id pretty much stop at the complement and never post again cause i know itd just be spam id come out with.

As for that update...Ive added a few more things and rounded off the edges a little. I recon this has got to be the first zelda area i ever did where im completed satisfied with it...unless some git comes along and points out a flaw

oh yeah ignore the flaw in the bottom right of the screen. Ive yet to decide where the actual entrance will be right there when i connect it to the nearby areas.

Not good to joke really...no matter how small a joke. This is seriously fucked up. Oddly enough it didnt surprise me..which shows the sorry state of the world at the moment.

My cousin and aunt live in london thank god theyre ok.

Thought id throw in a picture to the collection...been thinking about having a beach in my hack so I threw this together in about 10 minutes to see how itd look. So far so good really...maybe some palette and gfx editing might be needed.

Yeah BGNG keep up the great work on the editor its looking brilliant....i recon itll be better than the 64dd version too seeing as it has mouse support....it has mouse support right?

Here's some more pictures several are continuations of my beach area which started off small and has now become annoyingly ambitious. I spent way to long working on GFX (thanks Daisuke again for you beach tileset. )

I never went anywhere near the caves during my first hack of zelda...feared the evil darkness and bats in them I'm quite looking forward to them nowadays though cause I've come to realise that they are the easiest thing to edit. Most are reliant on a puzzle in the overworld to actually reach them...like falling down a whole or reaching a higher ledge so inside can often just be a small room with a heart inside...

Dudes you fucking crack me up

As impressive as an editor like this would be I wouldnt really be that keen on it. Itd sorta be like editing Doom3 levels or making a half life multiplayer map. The hacking scene is based around retro consoles and should remain so. The N64 is previous generation and soon to be two generations old. Anyway hard enough to hack a snes game let alone a current gen Next we'll all be needing hacking development teams to do the work!

Well impressed by the standard of work being shown by people.

SePH those enemies rule... testing that area was a bliss to witness especially with the new overworld spring barriers...

Love the ice theme jman...i love games with ice levels. not sure what it is about them but they just play really atmospherically and look brilliant.

shes a fuckwit to put it politely....why do politians never quite get that violent, sex filled video games are already monitored by ELSPA and given the appropriate ratings...its the retailers and the parents who are stupid enough to allow these to be sold/bought.

I believe in cracking down on younger people getting there hands on games like GTA it shouldnt be aloud because of the very same reason you cant put a minor under 16 years of age in prison..because they havent yet obtained full moral development. And any one over the age of 16 if they commit a crime due to a Video game then it means something was wrong with their development as a child and they dont understand how the real world works. In that case anything could set them off not just a game but something as simple as news reports about the war in iraq.

I doubt this'll go very fair as most things like this ever do. Plus the modding / hacking community is soo large with so many ways of altering game content that there is no way they could shut it down. just look at Bit Torrent and the Feds attempt to put an end to that.

Nuff said.

1: Best ask Euclid hes the dude with HEX! But knowing how helpful he is he'll probably post in this thread at some point.

2: Change the GFX....

3: Change the GFX so he's invisible or looks like someone else...you can't get rid of him for good...as far as i know no one knows how to yet.

But I've already used the last two as Link in my hack wakes up at a table and his uncle isn't present...what the uncle says is replaced with an extra bit from Zelda's help message.

4: HEX Address: 0x3F698 change 38 to 18 (found in SePH's Zelda: LTTP Hacking Guide v1.3 *FINAL* along with other helpful info worth looking over again and again just to take in all the stuff.)
