That's the reason why I don't download/enable everything in my browser, although I don't think it's malicious code in that case

TweakUI also can disable balloon tips.
I only see one balloon tip in XP after I activated my copy last year; and that's when I go online. It doesn't annoy me that much

Backups should be done anyway, when it comes to move around with partitions and -sizes, after there are data on them
Creating a copy and putting that on the new HD is that backup. If it is Windows XP, then three gigs wil be not enogu later on, even if you move pagefile.sys, hiberfil.sys and all temp folders to another drive or partition.

Why did you specify a post background in the "post background" entry ?
You can implement this into the main post header easily.

As for the repeating: Try using tags like repeat: no repeat (this example using in background= tags) and maybe something like "center" too. This causes to not to stretch or repeat the CSS but as your post grows puts everything into the middle.
Sure no perfect solution for very large posts, but at least it prevents the repeating stuff.

I have no clue of CSS: Is there a way to avoid the <div>-Tags ?
Maybe some code is blocked or don't work here.

I use them for small files only (since you even can put two small SNES ROMs only on one disk ). Like when I want to copy my Miranda IM to another computer without wasting a CD, I'll put in on a floppy. And I want be able to boot from a floppy disk too, although 2k/XP's installation disk are bootable, too.

Also I backup a database from a financial program I'm working at home every two weeks on a floppy disk. Parallel I'm backing up my data on a DVD anyway, plus that database gets onmy E:\ partition. So I've mutliple insurances.
But I've never had too many problems using floppy disks.

I would imagine this is for compatibility reasons, but it's still incredibly annoying nonetheless, and shows just how ancient the technology behind even the newest, most expensive PC is...

When you have a smallband connection, any attempts to try to push more data in shorter intervals through that will be blocked. So an old Dodge cannot be as fast a brand-new Formula 1 car, even if you still have the gasoline for that car

My old system had a defect CD burner, so I HAD to use some floppies to copy at least some files onto that computer (Mitanda database, save files and states from my ROMs), since I just don't want to put an old and slow hard drive into this XP 2800+ machine

As for the number GFX: I can live without that. They may be nice due to the nice fonts/numbers, but as long there are still schemes without these graphics, it can be lived without it -too.

That also doesn't make sense: If a regular user quotes an ignored user on my list, I'll see that post anyway. Also mods and admins must not be able to be blocked.
Think about a warning post by a mod or admin posts blocked by the specified user. Since you wont't be able to read that, you'll be banned later for continuing posting the same way.

Thus, I'm against that idea.

I'm working at home, having very unregular times, so there is no specific schedule.
But what's about the same is the morning and the evening

6:20 Alarm clock 1 rings, stopping it
6:30 Alarm clock 2 rings, stopping it
6:40 Cellphone rings, I HAVE to stand up to turn it off (it's on my desktop, kilometres away from the bed), going back to bed
6:45 Getting up
7:00 Washing an brushing my teeth
7:20.50 Leaving the house to go into the mall, or doing other neccessary stuff.
< work - inserts very random times here; sometimes I'll use the PC for other stuff or go out into the city, when there is nothing scheduled for that day >
16:00 Finishing, if out, coming home
16:10 Making meal - lunch
16:40 Turning on computer - won't be turned off until 0:00, even if I'm not using it
17:00-17.10 Connecting to the Internet, checking three message boards
Probably playing a game and leaving the Internet alone *Valkyrie Profile, only need three more Flame Jewels, hehe*
~23-0 - turning PC off, brushing teeth -> start /sleep.exe

The problems are not floppies, but the laziness people often have.
If you have a very old computer and no burner, it may be another thing, but every semi-decent computer has a CD rewriter, and though it might be hard to save 100 gigs of porn documents, games and such, there could be backed up at least some things like images and other things.

As for me, I'm the only one from all my friends who backs up his data. I'm doing that every two weeks; the most important stuff fits on a single DVD what costs me 15 minutes with Nero plus some minutes to check eversthing after burning.
And I also might want to get an USB stick w/ 512 MB. This might be nice; plug in, move data on that, plug out; but when I check my money bag and often empty bank account ...

Nothing special. Even in April it might be possible to have snow
And right here it is about -8 to -10 degrees; and I'm here inside wearing a t-shirt with an opened window in that room

Iomaga Zip drives also tend to break in some cases, or they get the fatal click of death, thought they are fare more reliable than an old floppy, indeed. But the prices and sizes should not be compared with a normal CD-R

The same thing is said about certain CD-Rs, if they are not from Verbatim, Sony or other known brands. As for me, I already burnt a lot of CDs from a cheap manufacturer without problems. I'm having a stack of 50 pieces of them left here, too.

Posted on 03-04-05 11:58 PM, in Firefox tabbed browsing extension that doesn't suck. Link
Usually I'm satisfied when using
browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs with the value 'true' in about:config - unlocking the feature "Open Links in New Tabs" in the settings panel

But I also used Tabbrowser Extensions and realized, I don't need it.
As for that extension, it seems to be nice, the mark unread tab feature seems very nice; if I knew more JavaScript/XML/whatever to make it another unread colour than red, it surely would fit greatly and not hurt the eyes

Don't tell us that much information about your hard- and software. My crystal sphere doesn't work today, sadly.

'Reinstall'/Copy Hyrule Magic again.
I dunno know in which language HM was coded, but if it uses Java for example, updating that might help.

Even though I'm making grammar mistakes as I'm not a native English person, the _title_ should be the most important. If someone doesn't care enough to write "HLEP!!!!1 Im having a virsu", this won't look that serious.

As stated, preview helps a lot - and for editing the posts there is editpost.php

HyperHacker, you might try to save the .xpi onto your harddrive, having the containing folder and Firefox on the same screen, while its Extension Manager also is opened and visible.
Now drag the xpi into the Extension Manager. If it installs, you are on the good side. If it messes up Firefox (should not do that usually, as FF refuses to install outdated extensions anyway since 1.0 PR), delete the extensions.rdf in the applications/userdata folder within "Mozilla".

This method also works when the installation process doesn't work on a website but the .xpi itself is okay normally.
