The Second Reality Project II - by FPI Productions Very good level ideas (Extra 5), despite some very hard parts in certain levels very good. And the GFX are fitting very well, too. I'm staying tuned for another demo to play world 7 and 8 then Demo World - The Legend Continues - by FuSoYa and Zero-G Amazing graphics, some great ASM hacks - only the P-switch was used too often, but other than else - really good and well hidden secret exits (edited by Surlent on 08-13-04 08:02 AM) |

Try to fix the glitches mentioned above and at least optically it will be great. But I'll wait for the demo and rate it overall after playing it |

- The regular user should be prevented from deleting the first post in his/her own threads - Edit should be prevented in a closed thread to avoid people saying "Acmlm suk my my digg omgfieklol" and editing that (although that would be noticed earlier, of course), just for purpose What would be great, might be adding a User CP hack - I think Weasel made one long ago. One section might be "Post layouts" - so the post header and signature windows/input fields might be moved to an own page and adding that way: You click on a /postlayout.php -> You will be redirected to a PREVIEW version of that layout by force (so no submit without viewing the layout is possible). Since it would be required to VIEW the layout BEFORE submitting it again (offering "Edit post layout" and "Submit post layout" in the preview section) - you WILL be noticed if it destroys tables andsuch To make it easy, forcing that way: Opening postlayout.php -> clicking on the only button "view layout (you can submit it later)" -> preview version with two buttons "Edit post layout" and "Submit post layout" Some users might complain for one additional click, but it is more better in overwiew and the previewing might stop fucked up threads caused by a bad post layout ... since a page already messes up in the preview window - a warning the layout kills all threads (edited by Surlent on 08-15-04 06:16 AM) (edited by Surlent on 08-15-04 06:17 AM) |

The Trash Can maybe is only a relict from past days; for funny threads there is the Display Case; plus deleting the Trash Can might also save a few bytes inside the database;anyway since the signatures are stored for each post individually again

The toolbar appears, but it doesn't work for me. I'm using the web content filter Proxomitron (bypassing doesn't help too); nice to have it implemented for non-IE users too But as for me, I'm using them rarely in message boards since I tend to type out the codes |

Another problem is the colour pallette unless the game you made the screenshot from has similar fitting pallettes. If not, you will need to rearrange each colour individually. But instead of making a screenshot, rather try it using save states (default key in ZSNES is F2): Open the save state in TLP, change to SNES mode and you'll need to search the tiles having the background GFX. That is also a little tricky due to the scrambled order (not possible to change in a tile editor anyway), but maybe this will make a little more easier for you. |

Try moving the "D" one space/column to the left; it doesn't fit in perfectly to the other letters I like the sword-styled frame and especially the classic question block along with the SMWish wings. As for the presentation, I won't rate a hack by a single screenshot only. |

Enforced changes like a disabled context menu on right-click can be prevented partly; either in Mozilla/Firefox there is a extension to block that, or a web content filter might help (it is a local proxy; The Proxomitron for example listens on port 8080 and filters out what desired; JavaScript, ad-banners and much more). I first recommend clearing the cache again and checking the visited links have another colur than non-visited ones (unless it is IE where that cannot be tweaked iirc). |

Basically a neat idea, but as said by Escherial,Originally posted by Escherial you'd need to include the hack inside the obligatory ZIP or RAR archive. But on the other hand: How many people will watch the movie first than extracting the IPS file instead in first place, since they gonna have two choices ? - Watch the movie - Apply the IPS to a fresh ROM or using ZSNES' auto-patching feature I think most of the people will play the hack immediately, since they first don't want to spoil themselves seeing the levels by watching that movie (and solution) and the IPS is almost here. ROM Hacks are for playing, not for watching. Distributing small movies might be good; but it is practically useless and a gimmick only. You might add some nice other music to an AVI or WMA (recommended, since other formats are not that known and spread out; of course you don't need Windows Media Player only, a few other ones also can play these formats ) and only show some interesting parts of levels; along with some nice cutscene effects ... |

This cannot be enforced. The idea really is neat, as it helps a lot; but as many people know - many people do not read stickied threads, and even if you came up with uber-huge font size, ultra fast marquee-tags and blinking, it won't be read by everyone. Putting the staff in charge might be helpful, but renaming every thread and cropping longer titles is not only time-consuming but might be annoying over time |

Extract the GFX first. Go into the level menu, item "Graphics" and -> "Extract GFX from ROM", then you can go editing the files

YES; WE NED MROE SWM FORUMMS AND T2 CLUTER UP EVRYTING !!!!1111ONEONEON Honestly; on the one hand, it may be very distracting to see a mass amount of stickied threads in SMW Hacking, but some of these threads deserve its importance and there is already a sort of that 'help'-thread here. SMW has become very popular in the last two years (far more than before - not only since it was mentioned even in a game magazine and the ROM-hack DW:TLC even was deserved a thread in Nintendo's official forums, due to the game itself and Fu's probably most user-friendly SMW level editor with kick-ass GUI in the ROM haxking scene ever But an entire forum is still too much for a single game - better might be to collect important FAQ and existing tuts, deleting one of the stickied threads and sorting it in a nice order/rowing them up in the first post |

Like a daily backup of the entire database should be done anyway; and keeping _unmodified_ copies of each board file is anyway required I'd hate people saying "Omfg, teh board update screwed my forum and I have no backup !!!oneon" (assuming there might be some moron who got a copy of the "new" files and handed them to other users) |

Originally posted by Atma X I'd do that anyway when working with computers. There are too many people complaining when their hard disks crash and the last full backup was one year ago The editor is already very powerful; I only messed a little with it and it is nice. Sadly too many objects are tileset specific again . Placing some donut blocks in 1-1 show glitchy left/right "shake" animation graphics when Yoshi is standing at one of them before it descends down Other than else - pretty good. Adding categories for the sprite and object list and direct drag and drop might of objects and sprites (instead of clicking "Create" and "Remove" or using the hotkey combinations) improve its GUI in time too |

The summer began really late in Berlin. While it was very good everywhere else (except regions like the Northpole and such ), the days until late June began like that: Really great weather until noon; then rainy. And that for about three weeks It began to nice when the June was to finish; until now usually great The hotter the sumer is, the shorter the girls' outfits are - fresh meat |

Leaving food for days in you room is anyway not recommended at all; there are worse and more disgusting "new pets" which could come - consider roaches and other nice insects/bugs As for mice - clean up your room (!) and then buy those traps when you get the opportunity to get to the next shop .... Also check how it came into your house. If there's a hole somewhere - close it. More mice might require an "exterminator" serrvice, depending if there are more mice and if it is hard to get them out of the house at all. |

Which files are missing exactely ? Next time you start up that computer, write down the error messages showing these system files, which Windows couldn't find. First important thing is a virus scanner, get it, download the most recent virus definitions and run it in safe mode. Then get Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy and run these too to remove ad- and spyware slowing down the system or simply for removing other malware. As for Windows, if important files got deleted, I'd stronlgy recommend backing up the most important data, formatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows plus putting up the saved data again . Instead you also COULD try to simply copy the missing files from the XP CD to the proper locations (e.g. like in SYSTEM32, check the error messages or try a Google search from another machines for the correct paths), but I can't promise anything if Windows will even work normally or everything might run fine in future |
