Hero: Nothing too special, as stated the background image is too purple and the same goes with the avatar ... 5/10 for sig and avatar Squash Monster's layout is weird, but funny on the other hand: 7/10 Jesper's layout is simple but eye-friendly. Avatar: 6/10 (rated for originality), I like the shape of the Layout: Heh, one background color; but it fits; 7.5/10 Heh, as for me I'm using my plain "layout" since a longer time and still will keep it ... dedicated everything to the game mentioned in my sig: Avatar, user name and post BG. Whenever I replace my avatar, I'll end up re-uploading the current one |

@Smallhacker: Actually there are ways to restore a freshly formatted hard disk; but usually this only works when there are no new data on it (and though it is expensive, like when giving the hard drive to a file recovery service) There really may not be a way to do that; same thing with me some days ago: I worked on ripping sprites from a game, using one save state only (to keep the original saves instead simply to backup these somewhere else, what was a fatal mistake; too late, yes ), so I proceeded and proceeded and hit F2 than F4 suddenly in the title screen. My data got overwritten I have no access left; some hourswere lost (at least I have the rips until then )-> thinking on that _beforehand_ could have saved me; this usually comes lately when something happened |

I guess blindly ... it is an Action Replay Code (due starting with "7E") ? XX might be the variables, such as different jumping heights for example. |

To do it non-layout specific, go into layout.php and find this: [...] $headlinks=" < | < | < | < if(@mysql_num_rows(mysql_query("SELECT * FROM userpic"))) $headlinks.=" | < $headlinks2=" < | < | < | < < | < | < | < "; Then simply put a font tag such as < (edited by Surlent on 07-04-04 06:19 AM) |

I assume you mean the row of "buttons" (there are links, no buttons ) seeing on every page:
So the part of these links is set up in layout.php and is loaded on every page. If you put another color in front of a tag, let's take for example < then put the font color tag in front of it. In my example, adding < Edit profile Damn, in my profile colored links don't seem to work (I anyway don't know too much), but usually the link will be shown in the color you put inside the font tag. |

The password is really easy to find by just reading it (nice idea anyways, DD and VN), this should be used more often, so people WILL read readme.txts; they have a purpose and already answer many questiona beforehand ... and now we're at the beginning and I don't want to repeat everything some posts above me None the matter, as for the hack: It is really nicely set up; the GFX are ass-kicking, like this animated water surface a la SMW; level design and really good extras. Onm the other Hand Mario Adventure was a bit nicer; although you used even more frames for animated question blocks and stuff But nevertheless keep up the work and maybe (?) implement a save feature later (edited by Surlent on 07-04-04 10:23 AM) |

Hehe, currently it is 10 : 9 for visible battles, quite interesting From a German community thinking, I thought the majority would sum up on visible battles beforehand. Grandia I and IIs battles were nice; mostly you easily could avoid nearly every enemy ... but if you did that and were on really low levels (especially low magic and weapon levels), it did extend the boss battles for sure; while it was just easy if you took the time to defeat every enemy group in a region ... there were quite much in that game |

Get enemies with few frames only first; or simply put yourself on a game which you really like. It's easy and funny One of my favourite games for example still is Rockman & Forte/MM9, since I prefer Forte due to his double-jump and other abilities, I captured his walking animation relatively fast. It is one of these games with really fluent animations; I also like the animation when Forte appears and his life bar fills up - gotta will do that animation too |

Ranko, the same you may experience when you rip sprites using Mode 7; an example is Ogre Battle; then you have that 'gradient' in the background while being a map, even when everything (but the sprite layer not, of coruse, since this is the thing we want to rip ) is disabled. The only sure way is to use something like a color replacer. Tolerance set to 0 % (so that only the affected color is replaced) and replace every part of it step by step by a neutral color - what will be the transparent color later In PSP 7 this goes very convenient and only needs some time. |

Is there a limit in dimensions of the each animation and file size ? I was on the way to gather all enemies' standing animations from Rudra no Hihou, and I overwrote my own saves; maybe when I have some more spare time I'll animate all other ones (currently only having some from the final dungeon and _all_ enemies in Sion's chapter up to day 7 - 45 enemies currently; and still many to come ) So there might be smaller sprites like and bigger versions, mostly bosses, like If these bigger sizes are no bigger problem (saving them as high-quality animated GIFs), probably some day I'll continue my work and will obtain all enemies and contribute my package too (edited by Surlent on 07-08-04 05:19 PM) |

In earlier versions the download manager seemed a little buggy, but after upgrading to 0.9.1 (German) it works usually good. I'm on ISDN only, but the rates are usually very constant and never got a broken download; even not in earlier versions ... except slight bugs like a temporary vanished bar with the items like "sort" - "remove finished downloads" etc. (edited by Surlent on 07-08-04 05:28 PM) |

Here a MPEG (5,4 MB, usually not recommended for dial-up users, since maybe it is not worth the waiting time/video itself ) from me, taken from a forum meeting in my city; DON'T FLAME MY APPEARANCE (I know it sucks), the content is the thing I'm "doing" here; hehe, I think it can be recognized quickly. I really feeled blaming myself (probably did but don't care ) ... but somehow I was in the group and the atmosphere was neat http://mitglied.lycos.de/ninyakeks/Treff/Zauberers_Pose.MPG It is about two weeks ago; since that only I put more care into my beard since its hair sticked out well ... Yes, so there is no question, at least for me, who am I'm seeing myself |

Originally posted by Colleen Yes, I know it's frickin' huge, compared to other sprites from SNES, but Rudra or one following boss is even bigger. Mitra takes up an entire half of the screen in her second form; and fully animated. The problem is the resizing; that the animation then will be fucked up, due to smaller pixels vanishing; well, I won't do anything; but anyway I'm doing this just for me personally. On the other hand I can understand your post; who wants to have a damn huge pic, which is only a small rank image ? |

Zophar's Domain. It is the best resource for everything used for ROM hacking; like a large number of hex editors, translation utilities, specific game/level editors and also public domain ROMs (edited by Surlent on 07-09-04 01:04 PM) |

Since a longer time the browser Opera offers a very interesting way to navigate through pages, documents and such using the mouse. These mouse gestures usually can replace very often used commands simply by using the left, middle or right mouse button, holding it, performing a certain movement, and releasing the button; usually in a special amount a time. The gestures can be configured in nearly any way; you even may add your own ones Mozilla/Firefox support them too, and there' are nice extensions; I'm using the normal gestures by Optimoz: Extension for Firefox http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=39&vid=146&category=Mouse%20Gestures These are the same gestures as for Mozilla (see that image to see all default gestures which can be performed; scroll down to see the exact routes for each command) and cannot think to surf without them anymore You even can fully customize and add them (well, new commands require JavaScript knowledge, but some things can be done with the included editor ) So, when I want to open a blank new tab, I simply go Go somewhere where is no clickable link or image, hold the left mouse button, move up, release the button and a new tab opens ... for me faster than pressing CTRL+T on my keyboard; and my left hand stays free (which is anyways above the keyboard) ClickOn,Right, Left, Right, ClickOff closes one tab or a window pretty quickly and time saving. What about you; do you use mouse gestures or rather stick to the good old keyboard for navigating/using the most commands inside your browser ? |

For me it that oldschool usage/treating to mark forums read by hand it is more convenient and accurate than auto-marker like in phpBBs or else. You log in into your phpBB or other one, read one or two threads, change the page, come again and probably the forum is marked as read although you didn't read the other "new" threads. Maybe it would be very nice to make it user-selectable if someone prefers the classic way - marking threads read by hand or a more modern way - auto marking read after you left the proper /../forum.php?id=xx page I dunno know how easy or hard it would be to code such a thing; and if that requrires much more work to make it selectable for each user; if a additional query and variable fits or not That setting could be set to "Auto-reading" feature by default for a new person then |
