Reminds me of Quake class.

My highschool spent a lot of money to set up a technology class in one of the old shop rooms. It had a wind tunnel, a programable robot, a sound studio both, a tv station room, and several other stations with computers that did different things. Then they put the shop teacher in charge of the room. Now this guy was barely smart enough to teach shop.

The more computer savy students had a way to by pass the firewall and install games. It had something to do with renaming windows.exe and restarting the computer. When it freaked out trying to find windows, they went in and changed the parameters of the security then fixed it and restarted again. Eventualy the teacher would help and install the games (even told some students the password to do so) and the entire class was in a deathmach of either Quake 2 or Starcraft. Fun class, but I doubt the teacher is working there anymore.

How about:

Ok there's this dude named Fafouin Ultima get's board and decides to send some generic video game charectors on an obviously contrived, overly complex quest for the pourpous of entertaining an unseen but omniseint audeince.

Hey it works for web comics.

Can you tell what enemy that used to be?

I like bombs. If you get really lucky you can get all of them in one blast.

I live just east of Dallas.

If I had to move to another state it would be Arizona, they have nice weather there.

It needs a certain kind of memory to be alocated for it to work. If you right click on the icon and go to proporties, it will bring up a box with several tabs at the top. Go to the one that says Memory and set the "Expanded (EMS) Memory" to auto and hit ok and all that and it should work.

Posted on 04-10-04 03:27 AM, in Learning Delphi Link
I have a copy of Delphi 7 enterprise edition, which I choose because it seems to work alot like Director, and am trying to learn to program with it.

I've done a little bit of many things (C++, x86 ASM, Lingo, Qbasic) but never enough to do anything usefull. I've got some books and searched online, but nothing I have found really helps to do what I want to do, so I'm gonna do it this way.

My end goal is to create a full featured editor bit by bit.
To do this I'll state a funtion I want to work on and someone (like you there reading this.... you do know Delphi don't you?) can teach me or atleast direct me to where the answer can be found. This way it will be half being taught and half learning on my own and should be quite effective.

So far I have made a program where you push the button and it changes the text of a label (from an online tutorial.)

I'd like to start off with an editor to move and change the proporties of the sprites on the title screen.

To do this I need to load a file, get bytes from a certian offset in the file, and display them in the proper boxes. Then I'll need to change them and save them back in the rom.

What options do I have to do this?

I'm not sure it will help, but there's a section on there that tells you how to check and enable EMS on an XP system.

Or, since it says "no EMM driver detected" you may want to look that up and see if finding one and installing it would work.

Then again trying it on an older computer may just be the easier thing to do.

There could be a tree where it's leaves fall off in the fall opening up a passageway in the branches.

Leaves could collect on water and make a bridge across it that even in summer was unpassable.

I'm a cronicly hardcore button masher, and that's the only one I never button mash! Sure you could get lucky, but that's just crazy talk.

It's a tile editor, it lets you change the graphics in a rom. You can extract and replace the graphics from hyrule magic, just copy and paste, or you can use a program that FuSoYa put together (http://fusoya.cg-games.net/zelda/index.html) to extract and insert all the graphics at the same time (the sprites are at the end.)

Not bad, but her head is shaped weird. She has no chin and the back of the head is a bit skimpy in volume, that is if your trying to make it look like her head is turned like the eyes suggest. I like the lines.

Evolution in the sence that all breeds of dogs came from one type of dog (see also cabbage) or that one perfectly fine animal changed to a compleatly different type of animal? One is not only possible but demonstrated, the other takes more blind faith than any relegion I know of.

I doubt anyone who really studies the nitty gritty of the way life works would say there isn't intelegent design involved.

And the "Proof" for evolution tends to be flaky and assuming. However it's engrained in the idea of science and so many people think that creation isn't sience and evolution is, just because it has to be that way.

Well, it looks like I have to bring up ZeldaC:O.

I'd also like to mention Metroid Deluxe by Rooser.

Not bad. Some improvements you might consider would be having the abillity to choose what room to explore. Also have more stuff to do and maybe items (like scissors or a razor) that could be used for different effects (scissors= trimmed afro, razor=bald) and a key to a locked door (there's always a key) and more traps. How about things like if you complement somebody, they won't chop your head off when they find you digging through there bathroom waistbasket.

He was outside the phone booth and it fell over ontop of him, leaving him inside on the ground.
