1: There is usually no way out of this, save heavy recoloring (which takes decades) or using a different Palette. I prefer the latter.

2: One's big and one's small. Other than that, nothing.

3: Of course! But if you're gonna do that, it'd be nice to tell them about it.

4: Yes, use warp blocks combined with 1-way blocks.

5: Hardcore ASM.

6: Besides changing the HP of Morton, Roy and Ludwig, there is little you can do. However, you can edit the Lemmy/Wendy clones to look exactly like the real one, and get rid of their animation code. Otherwise, hardcore ASM.

7: It is indeed. Try this. Play through a hack or the original game with the PAR code that affects your jumping on (00D7A6??). Some numbers won't work, but 01 will and it works great (makes Mario jump more than thrice as high). Now, trigger either castle scenes number 1, 2, 4 or 5. Notice how Mario's jumping is affected in the cutscene? Now, put on the PAR code that allows you to hold the jump button to hover (try 00D7A6C7) and watch one of the afformeted cutscenes.

In 1, 4 and 5, Mario will attempt to jump onto the switch, but fails and proceeds to duck. This proves that the cutscenes may be button-recording based! However, since you never hit the switch, the castle doesn't explode, and you're left with a motionless Mario standing there.

In 2, something even weirder happens. Instead of jumping up onto the walls of the castle, he goes halfway into the ground and does a slide kick into the castle!

Luigi can't RUN run, he can only run. You disabled his faster run so he cant fly. WTH? What's the point of the cape if you ca not gain enough speed to fly, besides spinning and floating down with it?

I have 84 exits....

Anyone else get the ? level?

No, where is that '?' level?

Maybe because flying with the cape makes the game way too easy?

I don't think it'd be too difficult if we can just find the data for the boarder. However, there'd still be one small problem. Goto the edge of the main overworld in any hack, then disable layer 3 (or something). Notice how you see the other side of the overworld? A possible workaround would to design the overworld so one side of the world connects to the next, but there'd still be the issue of scrolling...

Actually, it does exist. Use the GG "skip level" (00A70649) code in the backdoor, and you'll be taken there after falling down in the Yoshi bonus. However, all it is is Donut Plains 1 from the original game with screwy graphics in some spots.

Like you needed to announce it to the world? People will eventually read PMs. If not, you can assume either they're ignoring you (likely judging by your nature), or they haven't had a chance to read it yet.

Actually, it uses all 4 layers. The first two are used in all areas, the third is used in some areas, and the fourth is only used in the room before Baby Bowser (I think that's where it's only used).

Well, I was at my school's library the other day, and I saw a book writen many years ago on theories of what the future would be like. None of the predictions were correct, but they're fun to read for entertainment purposes.

Very nice. The pink stripes on the candles stand out like a sore thumb, however. Furthermore, the icing and ledges look very familiar, and resemble your winter set A LOT. Also, the set looks a little blocky with those checkered boxes.

If I remember correctly, you could add multiple Bowser sprites to the Bowser battle level. In addition to some nice slowdown, other strange effects occur when fighting them. Their attack pattern almost entirely changes, such as throwing fireballs while they're in the foreground. But it's probably not a good idea, seeing as how 90% of people have hair buns about any glitches at all, even if they're intentionally done (for the side effects, perhaps) and don't degrade the game.

These new addition look nice...

So it's ideas you want, huh? Well, I think the best world would be an Oven/Freezer themed world. They're not food, but they cook it and freeze it, and you could combine the theme with meat. If you're really good, you could fuse them into one world in a way so that you'd be able to switch between the two similar to how you do in Tiny Huge Island on SM64, and 4-6 of SMB3, making for nice puzzles. For example, you'd get killed trying to swim in boiling water. So you simply use a door or something (perhaps use the warping custom block) and that water turns to ice, then you could just walk across. Or, you could be blocked by frozen food standing on it's end. But with a simple flick of a switch (or entry of a door), it heats up and falls over. It might take some planning, but it'd be damn worth it.

By the way, if you're not going to change the checkered platforms, you could at least decorate them differently for every world. A cheese themed world; for example; could have holes in their yellow checkered platforms, or have cheese smeared all over the sides/dripping from it. The cake theme could have random icing placed on top of it.

I once had an idea of a hack where FuSoYa "goes to get his bitch back from Bowser" and the whole hack was gangster based. Of course, I quickly realized there simply were no good world themes to put in the hack, save the moon, a city with a large amount of crime and the kidnappers' hideout. Well...anyhow...

The main problems with group hacks is that their progress is erratic, the levels vary too much, and that too many people working on one hack slows it down. Yes, I do realize this is kind of stupid to say, considering DW:TLC was amazing and it was made by two people. However, they had a lot in common, being brothers and all, thus it was barely noticeable through all the ASM and fancy graphics. I mean, someone like Juggling Joker working with BHF would be alright, because they both have their strong points and are very good hackers (graphics and ASM respectively). But considering there are a bunch of wannabes out there who'd probably mess it up...(and that too many people working on one hack slows it down)

The Doc's sprite is GODLY. The only problems are the odd-colored rain and 1-tile tall pipes in the second shot, and the overworld in the fourth shot. Besides that, it looks great!

EDIT: When I try to play it, it messes up.

Pokemon Blue was also partially a fix of Red and Green. For example, there was no MISSINGNO. in the Japanese Red and Green. Instead, the game simply crashed if you tried to encounter one. So they made Ketsuban, which means MISSING NUMBER. They probably kept the way to access him in because they were too lazy, they didn't know how to do so, or they didn't realize the potential of the bug. Blue's Pokemon graphics are also those of our Red and Blue. Japanese Red and Green used completely different looking ones that looked like crap (except Porygon, which actually looks better).

If I remember correctly, there's a page in Pokemon Stadium 2's manual (the one showing the classroom's move list) that shows the Green version cart among the Red and Blue carts.

1: Not enough detail in the character, who looks ugly. Also, the words of the title screen need to be larger.

2: Yuck. The train tracks look good, so does the layout of the map, but you lack edges of cliffs in some places, and that always looks like crap.

3: The cartoony sprites and the foreground clash HORRIBLY. The coins need more shading. But you re-did the foreground in some places, so that's good. The question blocks look good.

4: Same as above, and the "used" brown question blocks wouldn't work well with things in turntiles.

5: Speaking of turntiles, they look ugly. The sprite has the same clashing issue as the one above.

6: Ditto.

7: Looks alright.

8: What the hell's with the cut off ground?

Even more complicated, you needed to find the weapon magazine.

No you didn't. That only makes it show up in the Junk Shop menu. As long as you have have the right materials, it'll appear, and you can forge it. But without the magazines, you'd probably not know what you need, unless you're playing through again or using a guide. You can actually get all the best weapons except Irvine's on the first disk. And you can get Quistis's Save the Queen before fighting Ifrit if you have the patience with cards.

Anyhow, one thing often said about FF8 is that it sucks because the main character's a jackass. Ironically, most of the people who say that are FF7 fanboys, and their main character is no different. But it's more realistic having a jackass loner as a main character than having, say, a pervert as a main character.

And the best thing about FF8 is that it's easy to powerlevel. Just go through the game at a low level, which is very easy, and once you get the Stat Boost abilities, attach 4 of them to a character, kill the others off, and train.

Some title screen palettes seem to share colors with the level palettes. Some parts override the others, and you get that. The result is to not use graphics that are as complicated and colorful as that in the demo level.
