There should be 4 tiles in the vertical repeat, you've got only 2 tiles that are repeated. Just look at my hack to see what I'm talking about.

In my last post, the Up Arrows " ^ ^ ^ ^ ^" are pointing to the area that should be fixed (I hope it was noticeable, sorry if it wasn't).

You can get my hack here:

Oh, I'm really sorry HabsoluteFate. I read that completly wrong. It looked like you were saying something else when I first read it. I usally just take a small glance around the Board to see if there's any more topics that interest me, and sometimes I post replies to small questions and I end up misreading them at times.
But anyhow, thanks for the reminder on what Alt+Print Screen does, it's been a while since I've used it.

What do you mean by internal Gfx. I'd like to help, so um, just explain it a little more.

..... Do you mean the gfx that is in the Rom?

I remember Jonwill (the creator) saying something about needing to have it uploaded to someone else's site because of a problim with his own (something like that).
Anyway, that would be the reason for why the link doesn't work anymore.

Use Windows Calculator in "Scientific Mode" to convert between Hex numbers and Decimal numbers. Scientific Mode is under "View" in the toolbar.
Converting it is not confusing at all, all you have to do is type in the number with Hex enabled, then before clearing the number, click on Decimal, and it will give you the converted number.
Lunar Magic will tell you the 16x16 Tile Number in "Hex"
Block Inserter makes you insert the 16x16 Tile Number in "Decimal".

Jonwill should have just made Block Inserter use Hex digits in the first place, to avoid confusion, since Lunar Magic uses Hex for the Map 16 Tile Numbers.

Explination of how Hex digits work: 0-9 like normal, then comes A-F, then 10-19, and then 1A-1F, and so on.
A-10, B=11, C=12, D=13, E=14, F=15, then it adds another digit (which would make 10 the next number). So that would make 10 really equal 16, because obviously 16 is what's after 15).

The first number in the Sprite Header tells you how many smaller sprites can be set on the screen at once (it's the number that's after the "=" sign). (And by the screen, I mean the Blue Borders in Lunar Magic, Push F1 in LM to see what I'm talking about, if you just happened to not know that already).

The second number tells you which Sprites (it uses the same number for a Sprite that's in the Sprite Editor list, so there should be no confusion about that) will use less memory (these are special properties that you'll only find for Larger Sprites). That's why changing the Sprite Header fixes the problim.

Don't worry about the explination below, I just put there incase you wanted to learn a little more about how Hex works.

Just follow the insructions above. To convert between Hex and Decimal, just click the "circle" that's next to the Word.

If you need better instructions on how to convert from Hex to Dec. (Decimal), just say so and I'll be glad to help.

I've been asking for that to be implemented into Lunar Magic for a quite a while, but it hasn't happened at all yet, so I doubt it will for a long time.

Hey everyone, hows the Music Editing going. Anything good yet?
(Sorry if I'm getting annoying by asking again, but I'm also keeping the Thread near the top so it doesn't get lost and forgotten about, since I haven't heard anything about it from anyone in a long while)

Orynider: The link for the SPC-700 Tutorial seems to be broken.

Where can I read about your hack.
No info = nothing to read.

Edit: Ok I'll stop being a smart ass since I actually found out where to read about your hack.

How much work do you think it would take to make it interact with gravity and Layer 1?
Or is it even possible to program that kind of fuction with the little bit of Sprite Hacking info that is currently known.

I thought of the Mega Mole idea before, but I don't know if I'll actually use it, because I wanted the Boulder to be a little bigger (The size of the Giant Cannon Ball, 3 16x16 Tiles Horiz. and Vertic.).

Oh yea, I wasn't saying that you knew or should have known (sorry if I made it sound like that), but I was just saying that it would be nice if the Cannon Ball had gravity-like properties so that it could be useable, instead of trying to find something that's similar (my only problim with using the Mega Mole is that you can step on him with out getting hurt, and he's the wrong size).

I might actually consider the Mega Mole in a different area of my game, but I really hope that I can have both sometime in the near future.

Maybe the temptation to announce it early may have been a bit too hard to resist?
I too want to announce some things about my hack that I've done lately, but I'm barely holding back on that because I know it's not quite ready yet.
(I'll release another version after I'm completely done with World 1).

I can't tell you what the code is, but I know where "I am Naaall and I love fiiish" comes from. It's from the (RPG) game "Lunar 2 Eternal Blue" (for the Sega CD or Playstaion).

"I am Naaall and I love fiiish" isn't actually a part of the game's script, so don't go looking through the game for that exact line, but the game does make it very noticeable in several occations that he does likes fish, so there will be many areas throughout the game to look for clues. Also, the PSX version and the Sega CD version both have stuff in them that is not in the other, so you'd have to play both.

BTW: Has anyone even heard of this game!?!? ..... is it that unknown to everyone? If you haven't, then you should also play it just because it's a really good RPG.
If you don't know where to get it, send me an e-mail and I'll tell you. I WILL NOT POST the site's address on the Board (If you don't know why by now, well...then.... I'm not even going to say what you are).

Dates that change Mario's gfx on the Overworld:

Sometime in September. (It's the anniversary of Lunar Magic, or Fu's birthday, can't remember which)

Christmas: Mario on Red Yoshi

St. Patrick's day: Luigi

April fools day: Mario on Green Yoshi

Dates that don't work:
Easter, Thanksgiving, and other holliday's that don't have an exact date, but instead, have a certain day of the week.

I know how to increase the Rex's speed, but that's the only sprite I've found it for, for now.

If you would like to have my list of addresses that affect the Rex's in different ways, tell me and I'll post it.

Woops, I guess it might be in there after all, I haven't played Lunar 1 in a long time. I've also played the Sega CD version more times than the PSX version. Did you know that they also have Lunar 1 for GBA?
I haven't bothered to play very far in the GBA version because they altered the story again, and you also meet Nash in Burg in this one.

Fu: Do you know where I could get the Sega Saturn version of either Lunar 1 or Lunar 2 or both? If so, send me an e-mail with the link.

That's the only thing I haven't been able to find yet.
I was able to make them stay 2 squares high after being hit, but it won't seem to take on the opposite affect (1 square high for both fases of the Rexes). I've searched a lot of it's programming by changing each byte one by one, but still haven't been able to find it.
You will also find a lot of cool effects in the list of addresses that I've found.
I'll post it shortly, in about half an hour.
