I remember it. It went severely downhill when they killed that fat professor off.

As long as the content is good, it doesn't matter if it is pretty or not.

For the love of god, put that stuff in your layout. It makes quoting you, a pain in the ass, and those of us who turn layouts off don't really want to see it.

Anyways, hopefully, you shouldn't be able to find the monthly hacker anywhere. I do have the first issue (and probably any others, if there were any), and having looked over it again, it reeks so much of ass, it's best to forget it ever existed.

Or, if you are really curious, type "monthly hacker" TEK into Google, and look in Google's cache.

I think to say that it could have been in more in depth is a bit of an understatement. It's plumbing the depths of assness now.

Personally, I think you should discuss exploits on this board. Let's look at the options:

Option #1: No talking about exploits - people find out about them anyway through IRC/AIM/whatever, and cause chaos on people's boards. The "victim" doesn't know how to fix it, and as nobody is talking about it, nobody steps forward to fix it.

Option #2: Talking about exploits - People find out about them through the posts on the board, and IRC/AIM/whatever. However, as people talking about them, the would be victims know what to fix or where the hole is, and they fix it.

Personally, I prefer option #2. I feel tempted to repost a link to that security over obscurity article on Wikipedia, but I won't.

There's a SNES emulator for the GBA, but last I heard, it's not all that great.

Well, the GBA doesn't have a screensize capable of displaying the resolution that SNES games run under.

No programs, because it's pretty much game specific. Depending on what game you are hacking, there may be a few documents, but you will have to use a hex editor. What game are you hacking?

Yes, but the problem is, AcmlmBoard doesn't have a release schedule of any sort at all. Sure, the dev team could be fixing the holes, but it might be a year before a distributable version is available, if at all. Which is no use at all to anyone really.

So therefore, the only viable option is to talk about it, and hope knows how to fix the exploits. As for posting that link about SQL injection, last I checked, the PHP manual contains an article about SQL injection (hell, it may even be the same one, I'm not sure what link it is). Anyone with half a brain could find that article, as it is in a section with the heading 'security'.

Yes, but he's not a playable character in the original game, so technically that doesn't count. (Heh, by that logic, I could be a playable character)

Well, if it's .NET we are talking about, you can use the same method from any .NET programming language (C#, VB .NET, etc). I'm sure you could also find VB code to download a web page easily too.

It doesn't mean anything. It's just some random name that Acmlm typed into a game or something years ago, and it sort of stuck.

The joystick support seems to work fine for me now. Although, sometimes it does seem to assign incorrect buttons when I am attempting to set it up. But as DarkPhoenix said, it's not your job to fix SNES9x's already present flaws.

As per usual, top notch stuff A few things though, I noticed:

- Doesn't accept command-lines (Although, I presume this will be added in the future
- It has severe problems with my Castlevania ROM hack. I made a few alterations to the game (changed mappers, switched to CHR-ROM), and it seems to work on pretty much every emulator I tried, except for Schpune. It's probably something in one of my hacks (highly likely, I was learning as I went along), but I can send you the ROM if you want to check it out.
