Well, I used to speak English with a very British accent (although English ain't my mother tongue, I have always been exposed to the language, through media and most importantly through my family (my aunt, who now lives in my town, lived in England with her two daughters for 20 years, and they usually prefer speaking English over Norwegian). However, when I went to Texas, I gradually got an American ("Texanish") accent. When I got home, people thought the change from "Queen's English to Redneck English" was hilarious. In Norwegian schools (where English is a mandatory class from early on (maybe as early as the 2nd grade, I think)), British English is taught. However, you are allowed to write speak American English, as long as you are consistent (i.e. you don't switch between American and English expressions/idioms/grammatical rules). |

Well, I'm impressed. I can't type for shit when I'm drunk, while you don't seem to have any problems, at all (oddly, however, I have no problems getting my SMSes to be correct, it might be because the keyboard I'm using for my computer is one of those split made-for-touch-typing-keyboards). Anyway, to answer your question. The easiest way to figure out how drunk you are, is to touch your nose. The less you can feel your nose, the drunker you are. Still, the way I usually tell that I'm drunk is that I can't manage to see only one moon, no matter how hard I try (unless, of course, I close one of my eyes, and thus I only look at it with only one eye, not getting the whole twin-moon effect). If I'm at a place where I can't see the moon, I'll just look at another distant source of light. I don't really talk gibberish when I'm drunk, but I start talking very adamntly and very seriously about very unimportant stuff. And I also usually find some friends and tell them either how much I love them or how much they've ruined my life, depending on the mood. |

Nope, I can't really say I don't have any name issues. I can't recall ever having bitched at anyone for making any mistakes in the spelling/capitalization of my nick.

I believe my main problem about typing drunk is that I don't look at what I type when I'm drunk, and thus don't use backspace. The errors that I weed out when I'm sober, are not weeded out when I'm drunk, and then my typing skills go down in addition.

Well, no, not really, your logic ain't flawed. The name SomerZ is taken from my real-life surname, which is Sommerseth. The h in Sommerseth is silent, so it's really pronounced like the English county Somerset. A Norwegian Z is pronounced set, thus SomerZ is a simplified spelling of Sommerseth. So calling me SomerZed is actually quite near to being correct. That being said, a lot of my real-life friends actually call me "Somesh". That is because they pronounce the nick SomerZ (which I use in real-life, as well) as if the Z was an S (which it often is pronounced as in Norwegian). You'd think it would become SomerS, then, of course, but in my Norwegian dialect, if R and S are put together, they are pronounced as a retroflex SH-sound. Jet - Cold Hard Bitch Jet is possibly the greatest thing in music to have ever come out of Australia (well, not counting Kylie's buttocks, of course ). Cold Hard Bitch is a nice song, very powerful, very energetic. |

You know what's fun, if you want to have the stage of drunkenness hit you like a door in the face? Drink vodka, and lots of it. You can drink for ages without feeling the least bit drunk, then you stand up from the chair you're sitting in, and BAM!, you're wasted.

hhallahh: It's not what is more proper or not, it's the fact that Britain is close to both France, Germany, and Norway, while America is not.

Although the man quite clearly has a point about the rather negative sides of Christianity (and of most other organized religion, I'd guess), I find his essay to be very selective and extremistic. He only attacks the values of religion that extreme fundamentalists uphold, most Christians would not recognize the picture of a Christian that this guy is trying to paint. He also seems very extremistic himself in his atheism, he is nearly as blinded by his hate for organized religion as those "mindless sheep" that he attacks in his essay. So, all in all, even though the man does have a point in that the Old Testament doesn't exactly portray the Christian God as a loving God (and, of course, he's far from the first man to have said this), his essay, as a whole, is way too extremistic to score any points in my book. |

Actually, that is, the American one, and the World's one. Canadian Smarties are Smarties all over the world, except in the US, for some reason.

Originally posted by mrmenz The part of the Bible called the Old Testament was written before Jesus. The Old Testament consists of stories spanning over thousands of years, and was written down over an almost equally long period of time. The New Testament is the part of the Bible written after Jesus changed everything. It consists of all the letters (mostly written by Paul), the four Gospel Books, the Book of Revelation, and the Acts of the Apostels. All of this was written within a century after Jesus' death, I think. I think one problem that this guy, and many other in America, has, is that religion is not taught in American schools (I think it so, anyway? There's something about Catholic Schools teaching it or something?). I believe that to be able to choose what to believe in, you mustn't be ignorant of the different religions and what they teach, and that's why religion should be taught in school. Religion has been mandatory for me since Elementary School, and I've thus learned about many different faiths and religions up through the years (all from a neutral point of view, of course. It does focuse more on Christianity than other religions, but that is because Christianity is the religion closest to our Western European Culture). |

Silly Dutchman (at least I think he's Dutch) tries to translate lyrics from English into Dutch, and then back to English again, lyrics that are very copywritten, mind you. Somebody should, like, try to record some of these songs with the altered lyrics, since it seems to me that it is possible to sing along using these. By the way, from the looks of the site, it may be a fake, but it's still weird and quite fun. |

England beat Australia 20-17 after a drop goal. A drop goal is when you drop the ball unto the ground and then kick it past the posts without the ball bouncing. |
