I prefere home made code, that way you know exectly what it does, and its easier to edit if the need arises.Plus I find it quite fun to make my own things, and it makes me feel good when they work properly .

I do use a downloaded forum system however, since I pretty much lack the skill to make my own at the moment, but eventually I'd make to be able to make my own...

wow, that looks really cool , how long did it take to make it? I can image it being pretty time consuming, although it was probably really fun to make too.

I can't really remeber how I came up with mine, though I remember the first time I used it/came up with it was on a mmorpg called Cosrin, I think I was just typing in random things in an attempt to come up with a good name

wow, that rocks! I don't think it would be a good idea to attempt it on the Xbox though.. It would be a bit pricey if it screwed up the hard drive, too much of a risk if you ask me.

I don't have the game yet, and Im not sure if I should or not. I've heard alot of bad comments and most of the reviews say it isn't very good... Allot of people seem to think its the worst final fantasy.

The game looks good, I like the look of it. And 2 disks? I thought the PS2 screwed up if you ejected the disk? oh well...

Must be a long game, to take up 2 DVD disks, but will it cost more? since it will cost more to make.

Shouldn't you just tell the school people about it? since at my school at least we don't have access to much... If you do lose anything the school probably has a backup of your files.

I have the p.c version of Morrowind, and I quite like it. Good thing about P.C version is you can download patches to fix bugs that are in the game. I like it for the most part, but I didn't really get too far since I always ended up getting bored of my character .

Posted on 04-04-04 04:13 PM, in VB storing data Link
At the moment im using a MS Access database, but I want to try using a different method. I need something to store data, which I can edit with VB and run queries on.

I was looking at .CSV files, but from what I've seen on my many google searches is that you can't run queries on them... also if you know any sites which could get me started that would be great.

While creating my Visual Basic program I decided to use .dat and CSV files to store all the data in...

The problem is, I do not know how to encrypt information inside these files. Does anyobdy here know how to encrypt them, and unencrypt them when running the VB program. If so, could you please tell me how to, I would be grateful if you could help.

What would you recommend to use as a database? I don't want to use an access database since they get big in file size very quickly, and they start quite big too.

I thought your MySQL database was protected from external usage, or did you find a way around it? I was going to make a program to interact with a MySQL database, but I couln't really find many resourses about it.

But when it comes to using files, I need a way to encrypt them to they can only be used by my program.

Posted on 04-13-04 04:13 PM, in PHP and Javascript Link
Is it possible to use Javascript and PHP together, for the list of affiliates on my site I use javascript to show the sites 88x31 when you hover over the link.

But now that I've made an affiliate application feature which stores them all in the MySQL database I need it to list all of the affilates that have been acceted, obviously using PHP. So would it be possible to keep the javascript, or is there a PHP function which would do the trick?

Javascript by the way:
