Oh, I thought you were calling me blind or something with the answer directly in the quote What colour is the lava earlier in the castle? In the ice fortress in my hack, I had the lava blue, just to suit the castle. If you could fix the palette up a bit, it might look really cool.

I'll try this when I get home later tonight, and post any glitches, bug reports, or stuff like that

Ok ok, fine, MORE than a tad bit difficult. I didn't mean I could beat it with my eyes closed, but I've seen harder. BTW, what's up with all the fire bars anyway - I never really got an answer. Unless your hack is titled SMB: Legend of the OMG Fire bars or something of the sort, it shouldn't be infested with them.

Freezing water . . so cold that it's fatal to touch. Now why didn't I think of that?

I figured your lava might be blue or something, so it would fit the theme of the castle. But since you decided to change the lava completely, it should look a lot better now

EDIT: Ok, I just played it. It's sweet. But I do have a few bugs/suggestions to point out.

1. Why did you use so many time berries in the first level? This isn't the problem though - as you're eating them, they flash the default colour (green)
2. The Thwomps head at the beginning of Frozen Fortress is cut off.
3. Same goes with the spring board just past the lava - its a bit cut off
4. Is there supposed to be an invisible row of blocks above the ball'n'chain? Because I can jump right on top of them and run along the whole level - plus, I get stuck in the ground in certain points.
5. In the area with the 4 ball'n'chains, one of them always gets cut off. You might not want to have so many on the screen at once - I know it's only 3, but it's still considered a lot

Those are all the bugs I found. . comment time!

1. Awesome work in the first level finding the brown blocks. It was slippery, so it was tough.
2. Nice ending of the fort
3. All in all, the level design rocked, levels were long and fun

Awesome work - please make more!

Because this is just so damn boring. I know HTML, pretty good at it, but I have a few questions about making the layout. Don't worry, they're simple (I hope )

1. Do I just make everything in the Post Background box in Edit Layout, or is there another spot for it?
2. When aligning a picture, I know the commands to align it up, down, left, and right. How to I make it top-left, or top-right

EDIT: Forgot one - whenever I try to make a new BG, it never accepts and just says "id" postbg= SIZE 60 MAXLENGTH 250. Sorry pro-layout maker guys, but does anyone know what this means?

Why do you post a screenshot of your hack in EVERY SINGLE POST you make? The least you could do is put it in your siggy, or get some new screenies.

Well, what kind of palette would you like? A palette someone else made that you can insert, or your very own palette from scratch? Post with that, and I'll try to help the best I can.

Wha . .? The only possible word the 3 letter one could be is "ALE". Can't be AND because you already used the D. That doesn't make sense, and I'm 110% sure ALE isn't the word. You sure you didn't leave out a "D" or something, or is there just some zany 3 letter word that begins with A that I missed?

Heh, it looks great. But in the 8th screenie, the cloud that Mario is on looks cut-off at the top. Might need some fine-tuning. I see you replaced the YI Flower with the coins. I was thinking of doing that, but I really didn't want to Good work, though we better keep replying to it, else it'll be bumped every month by some poor helpless soul whose name I won't mention who thinks no one gives a damn about it anymore

Posted on 11-02-05 03:53 AM, in Tetris Attack Challenge - a new unique Brain Teaser :) Link
I was thinking of this for a long, long time, so I've finally decided to post it. I think it would work out very well with the instructions I'll try to give. If it ends up being too tough, then it can be closed. But for now, let me explain the game

**PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE PLAYING - SKIP PART 1 IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PLAYED TETRIS ATTACK"

Part 1: Tetris Attack itself.

Tetris Attack, originally Paneru De Pon (sp?) is a unique form of Tetris. You have a bunch of colored squares with shapes on them in a Tetris-like playing field. Instead of pieces coming down from the top, you had the ones on the screen. What you would do, is use the cursor you have on the screen to manuver pieces around and try to match three or more of the same colored squares. By doing this, you remove them. In this game, I'll be doing the Puzzle Mode. In the original puzzle mode, you had a certain amount of moves to try to clear the screen of blocks. Here is a rough example:

1 1 2 1 2 2

Assume the numbers are the colors. You have 1 move to clear the screen. Use your cursor (in Tetris Attck, it was 2 blocks long) to flip the middle two. By doing this, your puzzle will look like this:

1 1 1 2 2 2

Meaning you clear the screen. That's basically it - some puzzles will have more than one move, and be a lot more confusing.

If you still don't understand how to play after this, watch how a few people do it. Then you can try and join in.

Part 2: My version (READ THIS IF YOU'RE PLAYING)

All of you now know (or already did know) the puzzle mode. What I will do, is post various puzzles from Tetris Attack, and you must simply state the moves on how to beat them. Don't fret, let me show you an example:

MOVES: 1
POINTS: 1
ROWS: 3
COLUMNS: 2

This was one of the puzzles in the original game. As you see, I will list underneath the point value of the puzzle, and how many points it's worth. I will, of course create my own. Now, how to solve:
Basically, just solve it any way you like, AS LONG as I understand it. For this one, you could say any of the following:

"Flip the top two"
"Flip the top left circle and the top right heart"

Or you could get as in-depth as a grid refernce if you'd like. Just be sure to list ALL your steps, like this:

"Flip the top two"
"Drop the top right one down."
"Flip the bottom right and the one right diamond right next to it"
"Move the diamond in the bottom right one square right"

This is just an example. Not too hard. Let's see if you guys can do it: Onto the first puzzle!

1-1:

MOVES: 1
POINTS: 1
ROWS: 5
COLUMNS: 2

Good luck guys - if it's too hard, tell me.

Also, this is mainly intended for people who have played Tetris Attack (which should be everyone) - unless you fully understand the rules. I don't care if you post the wrong directions or something, but if it's anything about the rules, please PM me - thanks

Umm, none of those are his signature. Under the big, ----------------------- line are siggys. Those are in his post.

What asdf said is how to import palettes from files - if you wanna make your own colours and stuff, go into Level -> Edit Palettes and Colors (something like that) and play around with those colours and see what changes what - I think I'll compile a list of the palettes and make a post about it

EDIT: Oh, I see what you mean now asdf..sorry for my misunderstanding
