Are you sure that's a real NSS, and not just a homemade arcade system?

Fu, how different is the data that is there? Would the game run, at least partially, if you copied the missing data in from an SMW ROM? If so, that would indicate they're pretty much identical.

Not so much dead projects, but you could spend a damn long time counting all the different ideas I've considered implementing into my SMW hack, and in some cases begun to implement. A Sonic-style hack, an Inuyasha hack, a Space Oddesy 2001 hack... and hell, I might end up doing some of them eventually, but for now I've pretty much made up my mind for this hack.

Yes, because GBA was the new system. Nothing else. Now, you have a choice. If you still like GBC games, buy an SP. If you only care about GBA games and want something small, buy Micro. See how that works? Making GBA without backward-compatibility would have sucked, because you would be forced to carry both it and a GBC. Making GBA with backward-compatibility, and then GBA Micro without, gives you the choice of spending a bit more on a bigger system that plays GBC games, or saving some cash and getting the smaller, GBA-only version. Just like how if you were a lucky Japanese person a few years back, you had the option of buying a cheap standard Gamecube, or a more expensive one that plays DVDs. (Why can't I have a Q? )

I imagine you would just search for 'refresh' or 'meta'. It wouldn't even be too hard to change their actual value to a variable so that you could edit it from one central place later.

This may not be appropriate for a game, but if you're lazy, I believe there's a way to fire up the IE scripting engine and run VBScripts.

Your link should look like:

And the urls in your code should look like:

Also, I think you use background-image for BG images, not just background, and you left off a semicolon at the end of background.

It's also useful when you need to remove a single opcode. Jumps won't fit in one byte.

Plus, Micro is cheaper. Maybe you can't or don't want to spend that extra money on a DS. Some people just want a decent game system and don't care what it's like as long as it's fun.

Bit of a bump, I suppose, but here's another little bug. If you have an entrance on screen 1F, and you go to it with the mouse gesture, only that screen is displayed until you scroll. (I was wondering where my level went... )

And I recall seeing some odd result from moving the mouse right to the left edge of the screen somewhere, thanks to that damn 'X position -1 bug' Microsoft still hasn't fixed. I forget where, though... I think it was in the main level editor; something got moved to layer 2 or the last screen or something along those lines. I'll try to re-create it... nope, nothing. I remember it was pretty rare. Though I also remember someone bringing up a similar bug before; not sure if you fixed it in this version, that may be what it was.

Or maybe I was thinking of this:

I can drag a multi-block object right to the end of the level, so that parts of it are beyond screen 1F or the bottom of the level. Not sure what might happen if I saved this but I don't want to risk it. (They don't pop back up on screen 00; it's a 1-layer level so not sure about layer 2.) If nothing else, this would probably cause memory corruption in SMW itself; possibly even in LM.

[edit] It's also possible to display the blank area past screen 1F just by scrolling to 1F and enlarging the window. Though it doesn't really hurt anything.

[edit 2] Woah, this has some weird effects on layer 2 levels:

Placing the blocks on layer 2 does the same as if it were the only layer.

[edit 3] Here's a weeeeeird bug, not in LM, but in SMW (or at least my hack):

It may look like the fireball is bouncing in this image, but in the game you can clearly see it's not. It actually re-appears up in the air whenever it hits the escalator! I'm not sure what causes it (anyone else seen it happen?) but it really does fit the theme of this level...

Hah, it does too. This guy thought of everything!

Speaking of sizes, though, in the next version maybe you should rework the objects where size 0 makes them 256 tiles wide, so that you can't give them a size lower than 1 (for 256, just go past 255), like you'd expect.

A rather long time ago, someone made a custom block that, used with a patch included with it, could change the game's gravity (make Mario fall faster, slower, or even up). I was hoping to use this in my hack, but it uses the same ROM space as d4s's FastROM patch, so the game crashes. I figured I could just move the code, but apparently not... The patch only seems to have inserted a subroutine in the small unused space at $8194, not modifying any of the game's code. This subroutine doesn't even execute, and the block only writes to a RAM address. Am I to assume I have a corrupt patch? (I know it worked at one point, but then didn't seem to do anything anymore. Maybe this is why.)
